Oh wow... Come on now please let their be proper evidence and justice for Madeleine.

Smallsteps88 · 08/06/2020 17:49

That’s the first I’ve heard it @deepwatersolo. I wonder where the Portuguese newspaper are getting this from. Hopefully it’s a reliable source. If so it sounds like they’re linking it all together.

Sorry, am I getting this right?

The suspect, CB, was involved with a sort of informal residential setting where troubled teens were sent over from Germany to stay in PDL with his girlfriend?

Because if that's so, and aside from the MM issue, based on what he's been convicted of so far, they'll practically have to open a waiting room for the girls who could now come forward, surely

deepwatersolo · 08/06/2020 17:58

Oh wow... Come on now please let their be proper evidence and justice for Madeleine.

Are you saying we must not talk about it, until someone is charged or convicted? If that is so, you should take it up with German police who published the phone number which was so easily linked to an identity via social media account by everyone but the German police...

If so it sounds like they’re linking it all together.

I sure hope so.

Heygirlheyboy · 08/06/2020 18:03

What are you talking about deepwatersolo?! I'm just hoping that it will result in a conviction. No idea what you read into my post Confused

deepwatersolo · 08/06/2020 18:11

Sorry Heygirlheyboy I thought you criticize all the/my speculation. (Which says everything about me feeling a bit guilty about my speculations and gossipping in this matter...).

Heygirlheyboy · 08/06/2020 18:13

No I haven't criticised anything!

deepwatersolo · 08/06/2020 18:18

No I haven't criticised anything!

Yeat, rereading that, I got it. As I said, it was my own bad conscience ;-)

As I said before, I fear German police has gone all in because they are sure but don't have enough evidence. So, like you I hope there will be closure but sadly I doubt this will come true. I hope I am wrong.

Blackbear19 · 08/06/2020 18:23

Deepwater I hope you are wrong and the German police have more information than they are letting on.

I really hope they have enough to convict for at least one or two of the 5 young people they are linking him with.

Heygirlheyboy · 08/06/2020 18:28

Thank you! Yes I hope and I feel that they have something that is significant.

user127820 · 08/06/2020 18:50

Didn’t the dog walk past the spot several times without alerting to start with? It’s entirely possible that it picked up on its handlers body language if he was expecting an alert, and obliged.

Very possible. There was the case of Clever Hans, a horse supposedly able to work out simple maths problems and tap the answer with his hoof. It turned out he was picking up on his owner's body language. When he was getting close to the correct number of taps, the owner's body language or facial expressions evidently changed, indicating to the horse that he was to stop tapping.

GiantKitten · 08/06/2020 18:59

OK, I'm not going to link them (haven't read the stories yet either) but these are three headlines on the DM page today.

It does sound from this as if they might be making some progress...

Madeleine McCann suspect's British ex-girlfriend is quizzed by police after year-long relationship in Praia da Luz in 2004 and is terrified 'he will come after her'

Portuguese police 'have identified crooked hotel worker who tipped off Madeleine prime suspect Christian Brueckner that the McCanns' room would be unlocked'

Police have NOT yet questioned Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner while they build a case as prosecutors say they 'assume there are more victims'

NameChange84 · 08/06/2020 19:02

Ok so to clear a few things up;

Allegedly (as most of these stories are coming via the tabloids);

The Diogo Silva on LinkedIn who resembles the efit of the Smith subject and worked for the Oceanico Group (NOT the Ocean Club but nearby hotels such as the Estrela de Luz) is not and never has been the owner of the mobile phone number that’s been released. Diogo Silva is like John Smith, Andrew McDonald or David Jones in terms of its popularity in Portugal.

As far as I know Diogo Silva on LinkedIn or indeed Diogo Silva in general is not thought to be the Ocean Club employee.

It’s alleged by multiple witnesses that a month after Madeleine’s disappearance the suspect was living in a small remote village called Foral, 40 miles away from PDL. He worked in a local restaurant, lived in his camper van and frequently visited a woman called Nicole who lived with her partner/husband and their little daughter. Nicole said she was running a rehabilitation programme from the rented villa for teenage and reportedly some younger girls who would be flown over from Germany. The villagers believed CB was a detective or special agent of some kind and they were afraid and intimidated by him, especially as he would always wear a holster and a gun Hmm. He “helped” Nicole track down one of her teenagers who ran away to live with a Romanian family. She returned pregnant Hmm and as a result Nicole was no longer allowed to run the rehabilitation programme anymore. She disappeared owing thousands of money in rental fees.

Dodgy no?

God it’s just so depressing! All these creepy lowlifes ruining so many lives.

Epitome of dodgy

NameChange84 · 08/06/2020 19:30

There have also been a number of paedophile rings in Germany and Australia broken up over the past few days with encrypted data (of images of abuse) being seized and cracked...it looks like Interpol have been doing some incredible work and finally helping put some of these lowlifes behind bars. German sentences seem horrifically lenient though, I hope there’s a way to make sure they all go down for life.

Namechange Shock

I'm lost for words. Those poor kids.
Yes a can of worms is exploding.

NameChange84 · 08/06/2020 19:53

trigger warning

Please do not read if you are likely to be especially affected by descriptions of abuse of young children.

west-midlands.police.uk/news/police-west-midlands-praised-bringing-down-dark-web-paedophile-ring

The above from earlier this year is about a PORTUGESE paedophile ring that was infiltrated on the dark web and one of the worst masterminds at the centre of it was charged.

I wonder, given the links between the UK and Portugal, if this plays any part in the new developments in the Madeleine McCann case and other paeodophile rings being broken up?

Swiftsseason · 08/06/2020 20:01

I mentioned the ocean link and corrosponding phone nos yesterday in thread

SirVixofVixHall · 08/06/2020 20:13

A “rehabilitation programme” so how many men locally might have taken advantage of these vulnerable girls, far away from their families. How could anyone believe that this woman was in some way rehabilitating girls ? It sounds preposterous.
How would the locals have fallen for that ? Very, very weird .

Overthegardenfence · 08/06/2020 20:19

Maybe someone in the Portuguese police force is involved in a paedophile ring and made sure CB wasn’t investigated, it looks like the police have been doing some amazing work just hoping and praying they can convict these monsters

Overthegardenfence · 08/06/2020 20:21

And don’t forget the syringes, drugs etc that were found left at the rehabilitation centre.

Swiftsseason · 08/06/2020 20:23

Over that's what I think. There is something obstructive and subversive about this Portuguese police force.

They are doing everything to me deflect away from actually doing their f job

It was obviously easy to intimidate one woman into a confession but not so easy with the maccans.

What cases did that man ever solve? How did he get into the force? Where does he live now...

It's absurd.
Maybe these poor German girls will blab now?

SirVixofVixHall · 08/06/2020 20:25

What was she supposed to be rehabilitating them from ? How come she got away with this ? Sounds as dodgy as hell. I feel very worried now, that there may be far more children caught up in this.

NameChange84 · 08/06/2020 20:31

They are saying on Sky News that the prosecutor in Germany has evidence Madeleine has been murdered but that he doesn’t have enough direct evidence only circumstantial evidence to charge him. He believes that British and American tourists were attacked by him during the time he lived in Portugal and are appealing for him to come forward.

How could he have slipped under the net?
