Shit! Is there anything I can do? Screwed up Tesco delivery.

My fault...I accidentally sent my (£200) Tesco delivery to our old address.

It’s registering as “delivered”. My son has run around there to see if they’ve taken it all in.

If they have and choose to keep it, what if anything can I do? Tesco customer service is closed at this time of night.

Can’t believe this has happened. We have very little money for more food 😥 I am such a fucking idiot.

Argh I fear there will never be an answer to this thread.Sad

TheCatsWhisker · 02/06/2020 16:13

Hope you got it sorted OP

Bentoforthehorde · 02/06/2020 16:19

My uncle recently had what we thought was a stroke (turned out to be possibly encephalitis) his tesco shopping was turned away by the neighbour whilst he was in hospital but it showed as delivered in his account. I hope this is what happened to OP

BruceAndNosh · 02/06/2020 16:30

Is the OP still On Hold to Tesco customer service?

StampMc · 02/06/2020 16:34

I think OP blew it with the £200 on 80 items aspect

I am ridiculously over invested in this but

Bag of dry cat for £15
Large tray chicken breast £8
Dishwasher tablets £12
Crate of 18 beers £15
Big box washing powder £10

That’s 5 standard, non extravagant, items for £60. As you can have 85 items now that leaves £140 for 80 items, which is an average of less than £2 an item. If the OP bought 2 crates of beer or a leg of lamb or a birthday cake or dog food or printer ink or razor blades then it’s a wonder she could get any other items at all.

NoseHair · 02/06/2020 16:59

Oops, I back down red faced. It seems very easy to go over £200 after all. Apologies for doubting absent OPs shopping value Blush

FWIW I don’t buy muddy potatoes and 12p beans either 😂

Wecandothis99 · 02/06/2020 16:59

Are people seriously saying she couldn't have spent that much? My last one was 260 and apart from one crates of beer and a box of wine there is nothing remotely extravagant in it. And there are only 3 of us! I am dying to know what's happened tho

ArriettyJones · 02/06/2020 17:01

You might get the cat lovers after you for that @StampMc WinkGrin

SuckingDownDarjeeling · 02/06/2020 17:05

@StampMC dried cat?! Shock

Pickled cat is so much better Grin

StampMc · 02/06/2020 17:07

The chicken and beer are for the cat. Cat food is to go with the muddy potatoes for tea.

StampMc · 02/06/2020 17:08

😂

Carrie7469 · 02/06/2020 17:13

I had a supermarket delivery sent to my address the other day in someone else’s name. I told the delivery driver it wasn’t mine and that I didn’t want it and he said “it’s got your address on it so I’m leaving it here”.

It was a bloody nightmare trying to sort it out. I spent ages on the phone to customer services who said they’d contact their customer but wouldn’t give me any more details.
In the end the supermarket refused to tell me the right address (I would have taken it round) and told me to keep it or get rid of it. There was probably about £40 worth. I donated it to a food bank.

OptimisticSix · 02/06/2020 17:15

@PinkMeringue any joy with this?

dobbyssoc · 02/06/2020 17:17

Any luck OP?

PurplePansy05 · 02/06/2020 17:27

OP, that's theft? I'd be reporting them to the police.

curtainsforme · 02/06/2020 17:31

OP, that's theft? I'd be reporting them to the police.

Reporting who?

PurplePansy05 · 02/06/2020 17:31

Also I had a similar story, although the address I gave was correct, the delivery driver delivered it elsewhere by accident. We were getting updates on the delivery app and saw where the driver stopped. DH went in after an hour to that house, they opened the door and there it fucking was - our Christmas tree standing in their hall, unwrapped. They've just started to decorate it. DH went ballistic and they said "oh we're really sorry, we were about it take it to your address". Hmm

Some people are really messed up!

PurplePansy05 · 02/06/2020 17:33

Reporting who?

The people who kept her shopping and didn't pay for it, it's pretty obvious Confused

If they took her trolley full of food that she paid for from outside Tesco, it would be the same thing. It's theft.

TheLashKingOfScotland · 02/06/2020 17:34

Are there different limits in different areas? We can get 85 items. And yy it's easy to get to £200.

FabbyChix · 02/06/2020 17:36

Typical posting a threat then not updating that’s seriously rude

majesticallyawkward · 02/06/2020 17:40

Only it's not the same thing if it was delivered to their address, which given OPs disappearance I'm guessing either it wasnt actually delivered to them/was sent back to Tesco and OP had an over reaction or the whole story was made up.

It's in bad taste to keep something delivered to you in error it's not a crime to keep them.

ItsSpittingEverybodyIn · 02/06/2020 17:41

5 of us here plus a catand shopping is usually 120, that's with me being quite frugal so I can imagine 200 is easily done with spirits/wine on top or more extravagant tastes. Mind you it's not this much when the kids are at school it's usually about 80 then.

ItsSpittingEverybodyIn · 02/06/2020 17:42

*cat and

PurplePansy05 · 02/06/2020 17:43

Only it is. They didn't pay for it and their name was not on the order.
