Even if it means 2 weeks of quarantine Grin
The anti -dementors are here to be reasonable and sensible about everything.

Dowser shame, we could have fraternised 😁
We have long proms and sandy beaches too, but there are probably land mines in the one at Weston by now!

HairyFloppins · 29/05/2020 16:34

There are some serious dementors on the Everything Blackpool Facebook page if anyone fancies a laugh.

Someone is demanding a serious lockdown now!

Springersrock · 29/05/2020 16:36

I’ve just seen some major dementoring on a local car sales showroom’s sponsored Facebook post

Deffo gonna be a 2nd wave and dead bodies piling up in the streets now.

It was the bowls club reopening that was going to cause it earlier in the week. I don’t think the dementors can make their minds up

MagdaS · 29/05/2020 16:43

I’ve had a day off work, my son’s tutor is currently tutoring him at our garden table, and I am drinking beer. My hairdresser has also said she’ll do home visits starting next week. If only I could go anywhere near my office, life would be looking much better.

Obviously all this will cause people to drop dead in the streets, throughout the country.

ShoeJunkie · 29/05/2020 16:47

Just back from the supermarket - if I have to put up with many more mask wearing dementors leaping in to chiller cabinets as I go past I may lose my mind. Made worse by the face touching that was going on while wearing gloves and mask. Masks are not magic.

Have invited a friend round for a bbq on Sunday and won’t be making her wee in the garden

NUFC69 · 29/05/2020 16:56

Wales, your summary is spot on. DH has just come back from an extended bike ride which went past some local woods. Council opened the car parks, but left the toilets shut, and is then surprised at the human waste. They have now unlocked the loos, but put a notice saying you use them at your own risk. Much better way to do things.

BarkandCheese · 29/05/2020 17:02

My stepmother agreed that when we visit the only one of us allowed to wee in the garden is the dog.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 29/05/2020 17:06

@HairyFloppins
Just seen that. It doesn't even look that busy.
Also I hate the assumption that its nasty evil daytrippers.

For fucks sake a town of 140k people are out of school and mostly out of work with not much green space and nothing else open.....of course loads will head to the beaches and the promenade cos they are ALLOWED TO!
Fuck me people are idiots.
And FYI why cant people get it through their thick skulls that you cant just get covid from people. Those people have to actually have covid and the chances of them having it are about 1 in 400.
You can't catch it from someone who ain't got it!

BlackberryViolet · 29/05/2020 17:12

Dowser, NE here as well. I wish they would open the bloody car parks. B and Q and supermarkets seem to be able to manage. Yet car parks behind the dunes are closed. All that’s there is a nature reserve, dunes and beach. Yet it’s still padlocked. There’s not even a loo! No ice cream shops, chippies, it’s just a great big open space ffs.

Our local parks car park is still shut with increased parking restrictions. The local council seem determined to keep us locked up as long as possible. Local lockdowns fill me with fear, I couldn’t trust this bunch to run a bath

GeraltOfRivia · 29/05/2020 17:16

NE here and just had an email to say that Reception and Yr 6 will be able to go back from 8 June. We await details. I have one in reception. The other will be disappointed but hopefully this means there return will be in the cards too

LivinLaVidaLoki · 29/05/2020 17:51

We'll pay for it with the souls of our children @KaronAVyrus

Went down to Conwy today with grand children three generations, the ice cream kiosk is now open grand kids squealed with excitement. They know the ice cream lady. Had ice creams, drinks, played on the sand searched for treasure among the boats. Had to come home when grandson needed the loo sadly. Bumped into a few old friends too.

Opened up FB the local page saying Conwy heaving queues for ice cream kiosk which should NOT!!! be open, Conwy too busy will not be coming again. The only queue we saw was for the chemist. One family in front of us for the ice cream and yes we are local. They are opening the ice cream kiosk on the other side of the river tomorrow, that should be banned too.

Hand on heart Conwy was not busy by any stretch of the imagination.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 29/05/2020 18:19

Am having a really bad day today.
Going through some family stuff, that's actually upset me a lot more than I would have imagined. Then the realisation that I cant just go to a pub for a glass of wine with my friends and talk it out. I mean yeah I can shout it across the 2m gap in my garden....but it's not the same and I need a glass of wine, a chat and a hug.

AnotherEmma · 29/05/2020 18:46

Thank you Delta, Trust and Janaih
To be fair to nursery, I think the leak might have caused some damage (to floor/other) that will need to be repaired. I got the impression that they're allowing 3 weeks in case the work takes longer than planned, so they are definitely ready by the 22nd rather than saying the 15th and having to delay again. We have now planned for the next 3 weeks and if they can reopen after 2 (fingers crossed!) it will be a bonus.
I'm still very gutted about it today, such a blow and although it's not my fault, I still feel like a dickhead messing work around when they're having to made redundancies so they have more important stuff to deal with Sad

Thank you to @Blobby10 for your very kind words to those of us with young'uns! It helps me feel less of a failure for struggling.

I do really feel for the children who are not yet allowed to go back to school - and their parents. I feel very strongly that they should all be going back some way or another, so they have at least a month before the summer holidays.
@Dowser (and anyone else interested)
This is a great resource for checking local stats:

@DominaShantotto and @LivinLaVidaLoki
Sorry you are both struggling. It's horrible when you're feeling shit and can't do any of the things you usually would to cheer yourself up. I feel the same Flowers

DrearyWallAntler · 29/05/2020 19:13

Natwest poetry.

Fucking do one

Just fuck off.

Drivingdownthe101 · 29/05/2020 19:14

Seconded.
DominaShantotto · 29/05/2020 19:21

Think Sunderland have unlocked their seafront car parks now for the NQ people. No toilets though so cross your legs or bag your shit up dog-owner style of course!

I want to throttle this street with their coffee mornings on the One Show now - you just know there are people who are really out of the clique, not included who have to suffer listening to these knobs and their camera crew every fucking week.

@Weedsnseeds1 think I used to live (well work at a boarding school) near you - between Weston and Cheddar! Would love to live back down there again but can't afford it and DH's work is here and the kids are settled!

DominaShantotto · 29/05/2020 19:22

And any inspiring "a letter to my future self" shite - piss off. If I could write a letter to myself it would be to my 2019 self telling them to just fucking hibernate through 2020 cos it's shit.

Drivingdownthe101 · 29/05/2020 19:27

We used to live in the SW too (just outside Bath, then moved to Bristol) and would love to go back, but would have to compromise massively housing wise! One day...

TheAdventuresoftheWishingChair · 29/05/2020 19:35

LivinLaVida I'm sorry. I know exactly what you mean - having a hug and a normal evening with people you care about is so valuable. I had a lovely walk with friends last night and today I'm all grumpy because it isn't enough. I want to ditch all these concerns and just get back to living and being close to people.

I reckon my mental health hour by hour would make an interesting graph right now. Peaks all over the shop. The BBC would have a field day with the misery. I am getting through it though. I have friends helping me with supportive messages. I look like absolute death though. Big black circles under my eyes. It is not an exaggeration to say I feel like I'm dying from this. I'm not, but it feels like I'm declining so fast mentally and it's having an impact on my body. I will be so glad to get back to my hairdresser and feel pampered and I'm in no way that into that kind of stuff normally.

I am trying to find something funny to watch tonight to distract myself from all the DOOM. Suggestions are welcome.

RubberDinghyRapids · 29/05/2020 19:39

I don't know about funny but we're just starting s.2 of No Offense and it's a fab distraction mostly Will Mellor Blush

Thanks to everyone having a shit day. My gloom appears to have lifted a bit today, staying busy is helping.

Also.... my Covid news is... I had a (shhhh) antibody test today Grin

AnotherEmma · 29/05/2020 19:41

I've found period dramas (specifically Jane Austen) the best TV in lockdown, nice gentle feel good watching. Escapism too.

Drivingdownthe101 · 29/05/2020 19:42

Ooh where did you get it from RubberDinghyRapids?

TheAdventuresoftheWishingChair · 29/05/2020 19:44

Yes I feel like watching the original Pride and Prejudice would be nice. I feel like breaking out some children's films too.
