Even if it means 2 weeks of quarantine Grin
The anti -dementors are here to be reasonable and sensible about everything.

My local council can’t empty the bins properly. I wouldn’t trust them to run a bath.

Dowser · 27/05/2020 18:05

Aww rookie, how lovely for you
In the most lockdown down days of lock down , I’d drive to town for provisions and drive past the sea front on my way home.
I’m not going back into a box again
Sod that

LivinLaVidaLoki · 27/05/2020 18:06

@Dowser
If you've had contact (I think 15 mins or more) with someone who tests positive for covid you have to self isolate for 14 days.
If there are spikes in areas the council can lock down those areas.

DominaShantotto · 27/05/2020 18:06

It sounds horrible but I could see suicides going right up if people got caught up with having to do a localised lockdown or a one because of track and trace and being behind the wrong bugger in the Tesco queue. I don't think I could do this again - even considering my duty and priority in looking after the kids - I couldn't do another stint like this.

Bollss · 27/05/2020 18:10

I hope its not down to local councils ours will have us locked down indefinitely for the bloody fun of it.

I guess you could just not use the app? Or not take it shopping Grin how could they know you were behind someone with Corona in the Aldi queue?!

I hope it's based on actual positive tests and not over zealous reporting of "symptoms"

LivinLaVidaLoki · 27/05/2020 18:12

PM "I don't believe public will not respond to new guidelines"
Fuck off
Jonathan Van Tam "until we have a vaccine or a treatment...."
Or until it peters out which is looking more likely. We likely won't have a large enough sample to test the vaccine....so that may not even happen.
Why have these briefings gone from increasing positivity to "lock yourself away when we tell you or we'll lock you down again until we get a vaccine (which we may never get)"
Fucks sake.

Ibake · 27/05/2020 18:13

Initially I was all up for downloading the app, taking part and doing my civic duty but am now thinking why bother? If they don't know who I am or where I am how can they tell me to self isolate should I have the misfortune to be stood behind someone in a queue? Asking people to volunteer for TTT seems now to be akin to asking turkeys to vote for Christmas. How on earth are they going to get people to agree to participate?

KaronAVyrus · 27/05/2020 18:14

I’d sooner get rid of my smart phone than comply with this bullshit.

DrearyWallAntler · 27/05/2020 18:14

I found my true patronus.

We're all going on a summer holiday
LivinLaVidaLoki · 27/05/2020 18:14

It is based on positive tests @TrustTheGeneGenie.
So about the only silver lining is that as the infection prevalence in the community is low (about 140k I think) then the chances of that happening are relatively small.

Bollss · 27/05/2020 18:15

Ah that's reassuring @LivinLaVidaLoki

I shall, however, continue to go to Aldi late at night because I still hate the fucking queuing!!

LivinLaVidaLoki · 27/05/2020 18:16

The idea is, you get symptoms, you self isolate, you get a test and if that test is positive then those persons "contacts" will be contacted to self isolate.

justasking111 · 27/05/2020 18:17

I am always forgetting my phone when nipping out to shops, so my data will be of little use to anyone. OH never takes his out since one fell out of his pocket and smashed when walking the dogs.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 27/05/2020 18:17

I just cant believe that this is the bollocks baby steps position we are in now. 10 bastard weeks in.

midgebabe · 27/05/2020 18:17

It's only petering out because of lockdown, I can't expect that will continue

justasking111 · 27/05/2020 18:19

Can someone explain to me I thought legally that something had to be set out by 28th May. Now in Wales we are getting bugger all about progress on easing the lockdown. Todays nonsense was about the cost of it all for the welsh government.

SockYarn · 27/05/2020 18:19

More dementoring from the Royal London hospital on the BBC news tonight. FFS.

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 27/05/2020 18:19

After the way they’ve treated us in wales there is no way I’d trust them with an app. I would have at first too but as the months roll on and nothing really changes we have lost far too much to risk it again. Take it from here, only download it if you absolutely have to.

AnxiousElephant77 · 27/05/2020 18:19

Unless you intimately knew the person in the Tesco queue you should be ok. You have symptoms. You're tested. Comes back positive.
Some tracer person contacts you and asks who you have been in contact with for more than 15 minutes.

I'm going to text everyone I know and tell them to never speak of me to a contact tracer.

Ibake · 27/05/2020 18:20

Ah, I should have realised. Came out of this post and saw there's another one re track and trace just been started up. Christ there's some sanctimonious shite on there. Realise I'm not supposed to post about stuff on other threads so will let you go off and read for yourself. Suffice to say I wouldn't be prepared to make some of the sacrifices being urged!

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 27/05/2020 18:22

@justasking111 I laughed when I saw wales is asking for more borrowing powers to deal with the costs. Hope they’re told to piss off. I don’t want to pay for a lockdown that can’t be justified at this point. We should be in step with England at least

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 27/05/2020 18:26

God this evening's briefing has just put me right back into the pit. The numbers are so low now, why aren't we coming out of lockdown? And not standing two metres apart in a queue for a fucking clothes shop. Out. Schools opening up within a proper set timetable, leisure facilities reopening, lift restrictions on face to face meetings. I can't keep going like this, on and on and fucking on, while the government smile and say "we appreciate your sacrifices, you may now go to a golf course on your own". I was completely in support of a short lockdown to get the numbers down. But they are down. Are we never going to come out of this? I can't do it. I want to cry.

HauntedGoatFart · 27/05/2020 18:32

It's only petering out because of lockdown

It's petering out all over Europe, including where lockdown has been eased/lifted for some time or never was imposed. Norway's analysis indicates that lockdown was never necessary for the virus to peter out there. The WHO's own models, multiple, indicate that the petering out will continue.

OnItCarBonnet · 27/05/2020 18:44

I don’t understand this track and trace thing. If there’s no app in place (which I hope there won’t be, I won’t be downloading it anyway), then if you test positive you can only say who you’ve been in close contact with ie. friends, family, work. So people you know personally. Why can’t we just contact these people ourselves to tell them to get tested? Which is probably happening at the minute anyway. Why do we need 25k people to do it on our behalf? It feels like another way to throw money down the drain.
