@BarkandCheese enjoy! We are off to do similar today Grin

Weedsnseeds1 · 24/05/2020 09:11

All the people from Easter, VE day etc. are in Weston hospital, it said so on Facebook, so it must be true!

trappedsincesundaymorn · 24/05/2020 09:12

Where is the spike in deaths and positive tests from V.E day celebrations

I asked that very same question to a bunch of FB dementors...the answer was "ah well it's going to happen in the next week or 2 because it takes 4 weeks for symptoms to get really bad". I followed up the answer with "but you all said it would take 2 weeks why have you now moved the timeline? Is it because you were wrong? Scaremongering or just making stuff up to suit yourselves?" I've yet to receive a reply to that strangely.

Weedsnseeds1 · 24/05/2020 09:12

My plans for today are pancakes for breakfast, a trip to the tip and a picnic later, once the wind has dropped a bit.

NUFC69 · 24/05/2020 09:14

Just read about this - some mums have set up a campaign to get children back in school: UsForThem#NotOk. Not looked at it, but might be worth supporting? From what I read in the article it wants to counter what dementors are saying.

Must go and read the new thread now.

userxx · 24/05/2020 09:16

@glotterbug I saw my friend on Friday night, it's was bloody amazing. Best I've felt in weeks.

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 24/05/2020 09:18

@NUFC69 I’ve supported them. It seemed sensible.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 24/05/2020 09:21

They will never admit they were wrong. Two week incubation period means we would at least have a spike in new infections, even if not deaths as that takes longer. They must be absolutely gutted that their miserable predictions havent come true. Any normal person would be happy there hasn't been a spike but not them- theyre desperate for more bad news. Its pathetic and sick.

longestlurkerever · 24/05/2020 09:23

Hello guys. True to my username I've been lurking on your threads, grateful for a bit of balance and humour about da rulz but i thought it was time i said hello. I'm in London - which you'd think would be a good news story giving people hope but no, it's all about the second wave now, massively huger than the first and all brought on by selfish things like walking past people in the street and wanting our kids to go back to school. I have ywo dc k
primary school -one in a priority year group but her school is not opening till 17th now (too short notice apparently, despite Gov saying "as soon as possible but no earlier than half term" since they closed) and not and with no return date in sight. I am wfh which would be fine if it wasn't for feral dc, and dh has chronic health conditions so is out of action for childcare much of the time but somehow still manages not to be a dementor (he's many things but not that). Anyway i wanted to confess to my crimes as i am going for an hour and a half's drive to see my dsis and family in an empty field by a river, murdering scores along the way, instead of staying in my local busy park where I'd be only murdering scummy londoners who don't count.

If it goes well i might do the same with dm and mil.

Drivingdownthe101 · 24/05/2020 09:24

I don't think much of anything will happen..

No, people will get bored of talking about it soon and go back to tales of people shitting in rock pools on Skeggie beach.

BogRollBOGOF · 24/05/2020 09:24

Symptoms take 5 to 14 days to show, so there really should be a spike in positive tests from VE day by now... especially as anyone can have access to testing now.

Weedsnseeds1 · 24/05/2020 09:28

We have a spike, 6 people have tested positive since 11th May in the entire County. Coincidently, this seems to correspond with testing centres being set up, rather than VE day, but still, its a spike and we can all do a happy dance and nail 2x4 a cross our neighbours doors...

Weedsnseeds1 · 24/05/2020 09:29

Across

Comingoutontop123 · 24/05/2020 09:29

@Drivingdownthe101

Yep. Short memories they have too. Most of them have spent weeks talking about how we haven't really been locked down, everyone (apart from them) are doing what they want anyway, the guidelines were difficult to understand, too broad, and could be interpreted for any excuse.

Yet now it's all "we were locked down! The guidelines were really clear! He's ruined it for us all!"

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 24/05/2020 09:30

@Weedsnseeds1

Less of a spike then and more of a nubbin 😜

Weedsnseeds1 · 24/05/2020 09:32

AlexisCarrington don't you dare take my spike away (even if no positive tests since Tuesday), it's mine and I'm going to enjoy it!

Springersrock · 24/05/2020 09:33

Where is the spike in deaths and positive tests from V.E day celebrations

I asked a dementor at work the same question - he told me that the government were lying about the figures and there were hundreds in our hospital

I don’t know about panic buying bog roll, I think I should bulk buy tin foil

With school dementoring, there was a poll about sending kids to school on a FB group. There was hundreds of posts shrieking about it not being safe, sending kids to school with body bags, etc, but the results of the actual poll bit was 80% in favour of sending the kids back (1500 people voted)

I know a FB poll isn’t any kind of definitive answer but i thought it was quite interesting comparing the results with all the nonsense in the comments.

There were hardly any comments in supporting sending kids back, but the poll was overwhelmingly in favour of it

MaxNormal · 24/05/2020 09:33

A dementor has got a pakora van shut down. No fun allowed! But why would the council come down so hard from one complaint??

Our residents have been complaining to our local council for years about dangerous driving and got nowhere. Someone needs to die first apparently.

But pakora are a terrible hazard.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 24/05/2020 09:33

@weedsnseeds1

I do apologise! Here- you can have your nubbin AHEM..SPIKE back.

Spudlet · 24/05/2020 09:35

Speaking of spikes...

Lady Whiteadder:
Chairs! You have chairs in your House?

Blackadder:
Yes, well...

[she slaps him twice]

Lady Whiteadder:
Wicked Child! Chairs are the work of Belezabub! At our house Nathaneal sits on a spike!

Blackadder:
And yourself?

Lady Whiteadder:
I sit on Nathaneal! Two spikes would be an extravagance.

There are definite shades of Lady Whiteadder around this whole issue...

Nihiloxica · 24/05/2020 09:36
Grin

Coming you're quite right. I hadn't noticed that little bit of hypocrisy.

Although, I am now suspicious that you have an agenda here to appease the Tory donors.

I see through your disguise CummingsOutOnTop!

Look, on the wheels of your car there is a type of clay soil unique to Co Durham.

Nice try, Dominic, infiltrating the anti-Dementors.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 24/05/2020 09:37

@spudlet

LOOOOL I was thinking of the whole sitting on spikes when we were talking about how puritanical the dementors are- NO fun allowed, we must be in misery and pain ALL the time.

Love blackadder

Bluewater1 · 24/05/2020 09:37

I've just found this thread. I have been increasingly experiencing lock down fatigue. I miss everyone, my DP, my family, my friends, my work colleagues.
My DC are desperately missing going swimming and their friends.
How is it fair that I can see one person in a public space but they can't see their friends at all. They don't want to Zoom because that's not how kids socialise is it? It doesn't meet their need to run around and play tag and hug. They want to go back to school but are in the "wrong" year groups . My FB feed is full of people congratulating themselves because they have contacted the school to say "my children will not be returning until September thank you very much!!!" and I am left wondering what magical things are going to happen by September that means they like that date but not the 1st June....?
DP was against lock down from the start. I wasn't. It's caused arguments and near break up. In fact, at this moment I'm not entirely certain if we are together or not?
I don't trust people not to call the police because my local FB group is full of, "I saw this, I reported them!!" to cheers from others in the group.
I am a natural rule follower and I have been on board with the guidance for weeks now but I have had enough. I need to see people. I don't want to feel anxious that I may be "seen"
I am so glad to have found this group

Nihiloxica · 24/05/2020 09:43

Hi, Bluewater, welcome.

Why was he against it?

DH has been against it from the start, I was afraid of it but decided to get on board with the public health advice.

I've had to admit he was right all along Shock

Thankfully he didn't gloat.

littlbrowndog · 24/05/2020 09:46

Pakora van. That would be my dream of heaven

Got a few killing sprees planned for today including a secret meeting as we have a general chief in charge in friends 👫
