Those BBC journos dont miss a trick do they?

Drivingdownthe101 · 19/05/2020 16:43

Mascotte yeah I’m not sure they can call it ‘news’ if it’s just starting the bloody obvious!

MagdaS · 19/05/2020 16:44

Found you all at last.

Domina yes to cumulative death toll - that will never reduce. Like counting any cumulative cause of death.

Springersrock · 19/05/2020 16:44

On the BBC just now... "the death toll continues to rise”

Our local press does that too. It’s cumulative and you can’t un-die.

Or “spike in deaths” - when you read the article there have been 2

They never report on the recovered cases though. God forbid they cover anything positive

Although, I’ve just seen on the local newspaper’s FB page that Burger King has reopened so it’s not all bad

Bollss · 19/05/2020 16:46

yeah, what a fucking surprise the total is going up because we haven't yet learnt how to bring people back from the dead.

And again, what a fucking surprise the number of benefits claimants is going up. It will only carry on rising unless we are allowed to go back to sodding work and school.

The school dementors are having a field day on FB. Yay xxx council!! Well done for keeping xxx safe!!!

WEVE HAD LESS THAN 300 CASES!!!

Someone also commented saying "your a moran if your putting your kids at risk"

a MORAN.

Indeed. I am a MORAN. At least i am not a moron, who can actually spell the bloody word.

I think i need a lay down.

KaronAVyrus · 19/05/2020 16:47

No, no they can’t possibly report on people who have recovered.

Drivingdownthe101 · 19/05/2020 16:47

I think I’m a moran.

Mascotte · 19/05/2020 16:48

I've just started saying, yes, you're right, 100% of people who get covid will die.

DrearyWallAntler · 19/05/2020 16:48

You turn your back for five minutes....
Grin

It seems I will be furloughed until June 1st at the earliest.

But on the upside local ground for undertaking my hobby {soooo outing darlings} has announced it is opening tomorrow. Booked in for Friday.

Also DS5 has decreed that when the germs go we can go to a toy store and I can go to a snake store because that's fair. He clearly has wallet breaking plans for this visit.

TeacupDrama · 19/05/2020 16:53

I heard that the death toll needs to fall, whoooosh back to 1st century AD to get lessons on resurrections

Bollss · 19/05/2020 16:53

@Drivingdownthe101 morans unite!

LilacTree1 · 19/05/2020 16:53

“ your a moran if your putting your kids at risk"

This was used as a joke in a Taylor Swift video, I’d love to think they were referring to the joke but sadly I doubt it.

LilacTree1 · 19/05/2020 16:54

Sorry to be clear

The wrong spelling of “moron” was used as a joke in a TS video.

Bollss · 19/05/2020 16:56

no they definitely weren't referring to that, sadly!

Pertella · 19/05/2020 16:56

Maybe they are calling you a carrot in Welsh?

BarkandCheese · 19/05/2020 16:58

Bloody hell, you leave the thread for a few hours and it fills up.

Pertella · 19/05/2020 16:59

Oh dear. The tragic death of a 7 year old is already being weaponized by a couple of my FB dementors.

They are literally revelling in it, wankers.

enjoyingSun · 19/05/2020 16:59

I heard that the death toll needs to fall, whoooosh back to 1st century AD to get lessons on resurrections

I was just thinking every book or film I'd seen on resurrecting the dead has it going badly for nearly everyone but I'd forgotten the bible.

Bollss · 19/05/2020 17:01

ha! is that what a moran is Grin

AnxiousElephant77 · 19/05/2020 17:02

For anyone so inclined, Tony Robbins has released a brilliant anti-dementory podcast about corona with several experts speaking about it. It's looooong but fantastic.

Especially if you can feel yourself being dragged down by it all.

Springersrock · 19/05/2020 17:03

There’s a massive argument on our school’s FB group today

Someone started a (badly spelled) petition on there a couple of days ago, and then returned today to shout at everyone as no one has signed it

It’s gold

Springersrock · 19/05/2020 17:04

Petition was to keep the school closed until at least September. Sorry, missed that bit out 🤦‍♀️

dingit · 19/05/2020 17:04

I'm laughing at people walking backwards in supermarket aisles that are one way. I've caught myself doing this, Mr Bean style hoping no one will notice Grin

Early on I'm lockdown I got shouted at for going the wrong way, feeling harassed with 3 peoples shopping lists. I snapped back at the man ( who I was nowhere near), don't worry I didn't lick you Hmm

HauntedGoatFart · 19/05/2020 17:06

YESSSSSS just got news from the school that DS1 can go back. Classes of 8, staggered day, R and Y1 only to begin with but building from there. I am so happy for him.

rosettesforjill · 19/05/2020 17:07

Let me tell you, the news that Greece is keen to be part of any possible air bridge scheme has brought joy to my murderous heart today. It has given me the tiniest glimmer of hope that I might be able to go on my killing spree to Crete in August. We have a villa booked with extended family and I don't even care if we just have to sit by the pool all day and everything is shut as long as I'm with them and I have a glass of something cold and alcoholic.
