Am actually really unsure of how our patroneus actually broke 'the guidelines' unless they actually work?!

GrinGrinGrin

If ever proof was needed.

DesmondTheMoonbear · 19/05/2020 15:51

It's very strange.

DominaShantotto · 19/05/2020 15:53

Oooh is that a borzoi? They're gorgeous but I couldn't cope with the attitude or grooming.

I see we had a visitor while I was out - shitloads of police making sure we know they're still there around any remotely outdoor attractive area of the city, and all the retail parks just in case anyone has a spontaneous outbreak of joviality and decides to conga through Costa drive thru.

Poor DD1 - school fucked up organising a video call again so she missed out again - she was really really upset but I've managed to rally her round. She's overjoyed at the prospect of getting back into school though - just some light at the end of the tunnel for her - they're only young and it's been a lot for them to process really, it's a lot for grown adults who understand it more to process - let alone kids who've had their world dramatically narrowed overnight for an indefinite period.

Orangeblossom78 · 19/05/2020 15:54

Hi...missed all that...nice to see a new thread.

Domina sorry, the police visited?

Tonii1985 · 19/05/2020 15:57

Hello friends x

tinkerbellla · 19/05/2020 15:57

I love these threads! Can I join you? I just went for a walk with my MIL AND my four year old Grin

Willow2017 · 19/05/2020 15:58

Crikey I cant keep up with you all.
Just checking in in the vain hope I get to post again before the thread fills up Grin
Went to the garden centre which has finally re-opened, yeah. Was lovely, but had to restrain myself and not go mad spending! All very calm, people enjoying themselves, no faffing nor fussing at all, one way (ish) and only so many in at a time. I will be back for another slice of 'normality'.
How the hell are we allowed to talk about dementors yet not patronuses? No logic at all! What did I miss?
We should definately all meet up at Loch Ness and set Nessie on anyone who bothers us.

Nihiloxica · 19/05/2020 16:00

Welcome tinker Smile

I just went for a walk with my MIL AND my four year old

I hope you live in Wales or Scotland, otherwise you are not really doing enough murdering with such obedient behaviour Wink

Orangeblossom78 · 19/05/2020 16:01

I have just been sitting under the trees in the sun and being mindful for a bit, been quite peaceful. Been thinking of this song today

Morrissey

Stop watching the news
Because the news contrives to frighten you
To make you feel small and alone
To make you feel that your mind isn't your own

DominaShantotto · 19/05/2020 16:02

@LilacTree1nope - I've been out for a drive, and went the scenic way around the city and there's a notable police presence circulating anywhere in the way of parkland, squares in front of local shops etc (you get the kind of places I mean) - I must have passed a good 3 vans and 5 or so cars on a 15 minute drive. Normally you only see them if someone's been stabbed or it's breakfast time at Macdonalds.

BroomHandledMouser · 19/05/2020 16:03

I’ve found my people!

De-lurking after a long period away.

I went to Tesco’s yesterday and bought gin, a birthday card and a candle Shock

I had to walk backwards because I’d missed the section I needed on the cards.

trappedsincesundaymorn · 19/05/2020 16:03

Afternoon. Feeling a bit fed up today. Had an e-mail at work...good news they're doing a staggered return as from June 1st....bad news it's at the sister site not ours, not sure when that will be re-open so remain on furlough for another month at least....goodbye metal health. I think the last thread holding it together has just snapped.

Anyway enough of the maudling there's a Loch to defend.

Orangeblossom78 · 19/05/2020 16:05

I bring you this gem of a comment...dirty dirty children...Grin

"The risk isn't that low if the kids are all touching each other and coughing all over each other, sharing drinks, ice creams etc"

(imagines feral nest of children spluttering, slurping all over each other)

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 19/05/2020 16:06

@Nihiloxica I'm so sorry. Was that yesterday? The days are all starting to blend together. I'm starting to forget words a lot too. I'm a starting to get a bit worried about my mental health. I must pull myself together

Bollss · 19/05/2020 16:06

Who's children are like this?? I know I'm bias but honestly mine isn't that gross!

bakingcupcakes · 19/05/2020 16:06

Christ, I went to do something else for a bit and came back to a load of deletion messages and a full thread.

Yesterday I went for an evening trip out to the supermarket and they brought out lots of reduced fruit and veg. Social distancing went out the window as everyone (myself included) threw themselves at the boxes. We've already eaten a full box of 5p strawberries. Wish I'd bought another now. They were very good.

Orangeblossom78 · 19/05/2020 16:07

I won't go on about it but see there was a comment about 'sensitive souls, PFBs (precious first borns)?!' (about people on here?!)

Umm...so off the mark that is unbelievable...oh well moving on...Hmm

DominaShantotto · 19/05/2020 16:07

Oh god the day before the schools closed, amid all the school careful measures to distance the shit outta the parents... friends' kids walking out of school and all you heard from her was "DON'T YOU TWO BLOODY LICK EACH OTHER!" (She's a bit rough around the edges but a good mate).

I live in fear of screwing up the Tesco one way system of doom.

Made the mistake of a) getting dressed out of pyjamas today and b) wearing an underwired bra. SOOOOOOO UNCOMFORTABLE! My underwear wants me dead

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 19/05/2020 16:07

@Orangeblossom78 I've bought DD a lead and harness to stop her licking strangers. She's getting better at heel after some clicker training with smarties. I did consider a shock collar. Maybe that'd stop her killing spree?

Orangeblossom78 · 19/05/2020 16:08

Just people out having picnic in the outdoors apparently..no evidence of it just the posters own musings it seems..

DominaShantotto · 19/05/2020 16:09

Yeah @Orangeblossom78 - it's DDtwo that's the one who has been really struggling. DD1's behaviour has escalated to be challenging but that's more manageable than a depressed de-bounced Tigger.

KaronAVyrus · 19/05/2020 16:10

Joining in.

I also went round town for a drive and there is still a hefty police presence. Normally you only see them in sunny days if if there has been a serious incident.

My Facebook is nice and quite because I’ve muted all the dementors - the exact same ones who who I muted over Brexit.

Drivingdownthe101 · 19/05/2020 16:11

TrustTheGeneGenie mine aren’t that gross either! They’re actually far more hygiene conscious than me Grin. DD1 is always reminding me to wash my hands when I come in from outside!
