I just pegged the socks out.
I don’t care!
Would you look at the state of it.

What are they doing folded over? Peg them open so they dry better! And in pairs, please#

FurForksSake · 09/05/2020 16:26

My husband pegs two socks with one peg..

gatsbylove · 09/05/2020 16:29

I'm sorry but I don't see what is 'lighthearted' about wiping £25k off the value of your neighbours houses.

No way would I buy a house next to that sock monstrosity.

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 09/05/2020 16:31

even my wardrobe is organised by colour

WHAT??? Wardrobes should be organised by type of garment, with sub sections for work and not work.

In the olden days, Before Lycra, my mum told me to hang socks by the toe to stop the ankles going baggy and thenceforth it has been The Law. I’m going to try hanging them upside down next time. I’m such a rebel.

Oh the horror!!! Grin

The lengths some folks will go to in order to avoid paying for bunting.

SunshineCake · 09/05/2020 17:06

I organised my wardrobe by colour and item.

It looks gorgeous and it is so much easier choosing what I am going to wear now.

The80sweregreat · 09/05/2020 17:25

I peg two socks with one peg and sometimes they are not the same sock either ! I'm a lazy pegger

VerticalHorizon · 09/05/2020 17:27

I just hang them over a line with no peg... throwing caution to the wind, literally.

I also have many missing socks.

Coincidence?

Thisismytimetoshine · 09/05/2020 17:29

The one time I did that (by mistake, I draped a top over the line and forgot to peg it) it blew off the line and the dog weed on it.

VerticalHorizon · 09/05/2020 17:30

lol, if he'd weed on the pair, it wouldn't have been so bad, but to have just one odd smelling sock... it's a no go.

Deathraystare · 09/05/2020 18:08

Does nobody care about the ghostly dog??

It is a black cat who I believe has turned it's back on the whole sock drama. Doesn't give a shit one way or another!

Wauden · 09/05/2020 18:30

If that wasn't bad enough, no doubt you will leave the socks out overnight, so that they will get darked on.
Shock

Redkatagain · 09/05/2020 18:38

Socktopus- this is a revelation to DH and I.

We have one of this from IKEA but it has always been known as the 'washing spider'

H1978 · 09/05/2020 19:09

Don’t own a fancy socktopus from ikea but a cheap one from Asda.

Same socks always hung together and folded into balls as it’s being taken off the peg, there nothing worst then sorting and pairing socks!

FlamingoAndJohn · 09/05/2020 19:09

Well really. I do have some standards. All is brought in and the washing line put away.

It is a black cat no not the cat, see the photo where I circled ghost dog in red!

dementedma · 09/05/2020 20:06

Love this thread - great comments - but it seems that, joking apart, some people actually care about this sort of stuff. Mine is hung up any way, any colour, any pegs, any order, often left out overnight, and pegs left on the line. But the clothes still dry.
Next there will be people thinking I’m odd for opening the cutlery drawer, chucking a handful of stuff in and closing it again. I think there are people out there who sort out knives and forks and stuff.....

PS I also have a toilet brush.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 09/05/2020 21:02

On close examination of that pic, OP, I'm a bit concerned you're not 'shaking and snapping' each of those socks. You're going to get crumpled socks, you know - do you just not care about that, either? Confused

Bananabixfloof · 09/05/2020 21:05

Shock horror, mine go in the dryer year round. I hate hard underwear.

im now going to hide behind my sofa while everyone berates me for this wasteful behaviour

PenOrPencil · 09/05/2020 21:18

I think your garden and wild socks are beautiful! My own washing, which is currently being darked on, is not nearly as cheerful!

I also really want to go to IKEA right now and buy a socktopus and ten thousand other useless useful things and eat meatballs.

StopChelping · 09/05/2020 21:27

Jane I also see the Labrador. What a lovely garden for a lab. Not much wonder they stayed there.

ma you have just Shock me with your literal cutlery drawer Grin

I had a lot of premature peg death. Someone told me that some hate being left out in the sun and that’s why they fell to bits when I was pegging. My fat Minkys are treated like queens now. Queens.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 10/05/2020 08:57

I can't believe you have even typed this!

sueelleker · 10/05/2020 10:13

I had that trouble too; now I use stainless steel ones. They never degrade, and if necessary I can wash them.

FlamingoAndJohn · 10/05/2020 10:40

Perhaps the ghost dog came in through the secret gate?
