I just pegged the socks out.
I don’t care!
Would you look at the state of it.

THEY ARE UPSIDE DOWN

Shame on you

Justgivemewine · 09/05/2020 13:16

I NEED a socktopus. Is it an essential purchase?🤔

thenightsky · 09/05/2020 13:20

I'm more concerned that you don't appear to have given them The Shake. They're all glued-together-looking.

Oh thank God someone else noticed! I saw that well before I noticed the mis-matching.

Jeez people, socks are knitted fabrics... RE-SHAPE WHILST DAMP!

biwinoone · 09/05/2020 13:20

what kind of monster hangs socks like this? You are breaking all the rules of laundry.

Bananabixfloof · 09/05/2020 13:20

Ffs sake, literally 2 days ago I threw out my random socks cos the other one had disappeared. Now I see the matching ones ON YOUR LINE
How fucking dare my socks elope to your house.
Bastards.

Deathraystare · 09/05/2020 13:21

At least they are wooden pegs so no mismatched plastic ones. My friend would have had a fit!!

moolady1977 · 09/05/2020 13:21

Lovely socks and matching pegs but I think I need a stuff drink socks on the line no I'm too worried spiders might find there way inside them and try to eat my toes when I put them on or breed in my sock drawer

Deathraystare · 09/05/2020 13:23

I have had a quick look and none of those look anything like mine. The search for the matching socks goes on and on .

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 09/05/2020 13:26

Arghh! Arghh! My brain is twisting!

lotusbell · 09/05/2020 13:28

Absolutely no need for this! How can you sleep? P.s. spotted some of my own socks on that line!

CafetiereCoffee · 09/05/2020 13:28

This is where I have been going wrong all my life. No wonder the villagers won’t talk to me.

paininthepoinsettia · 09/05/2020 13:30

I think they look lovely OP, apart from the fact that you haven't (as a PP pointed out) given them The Shake so all parts of the humble sock will not feel the benefit.

The real acid test is do you remove the pegs from the line and dis-assemble it at night time? I've learned on here that one who leaves the line up and god forbid the pegs on overnight is the height of a slattern.

returnofthemollymawks · 09/05/2020 13:31

Disgraceful. I have been looking for those missing socks for ages.

Angliski · 09/05/2020 13:35

Did you know that today is lost sock Memorial Day? For all the lonely socks that have fallen. They went bravely into the washing.... and never emerged again!

Popuppippa · 09/05/2020 13:39

You really need to do more than The Shake. It's not enough.

It must be The Shake, Stretch and Re-shape.

Then peg with matching pegs.

It takes longer but you can then have a 45-minute tea break to admire your work Grin

Chicchicchicchiclana · 09/05/2020 13:42

I peg out fairly neatly (and I sort the washing a bit obsessively) but I couldn't give a stuff about matching pegs. I'm thinking of going back to all wooden as the plastic ones snap after a year or two - not very environmentally friendly.

Sparklingbrook · 09/05/2020 13:43

I once saw a really terrible sock hanging. Imagine a pair of jeans pegged up by the hems but the legs opened, and two socks pegged inbetween the legs. Shock
This was about twenty years ago but have never forgotten.

I have one of those whirly things for pants and socks.

lazyarse123 · 09/05/2020 13:49

Mine go in size order and facing the same direction and also pegged at the top. If dh does it he opens the socks and just pegs one side of the fabric, he obviously has more time than me.

FlamingoAndJohn · 09/05/2020 13:53

An update.

I just went out to get the washing in and noticed the doof doof music had stopped.
But the socks weren’t quite dry so I couldn’t bring them in.
I felt bad that I couldn’t bring them in given it seemed to have had the desired effect.
Just as I thought that the daughter from next door but one came out and the doof doof music started again!

What you need are Sockies. You stick your socks through one when you take em off, they get through the wash without the machine eating one, you bung em on the line one-handed, no need for a peg, you don't need to play Sock Snap when sorting the laundry, and, best of all, you can just bung em straight in your drawer without all that rolling up and folding over faff, because they're still paired up. Saves oooh at least 10 seconds per sock, and untold agonies of "Shall I Shock the Neighbours?".

Longdistance · 09/05/2020 13:58

You need one of these in your life www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-20-peg-airer/p/0132982
It’s a space saver on your line.
Pegging the toe of socks SMH.

TeddyIsaHe · 09/05/2020 13:59

A) the way you peg your socks out offends me deeply, and
B) you have a fabulous garden and I’m hugely envious. So now I definitely hate you Grin

unlikelytobe · 09/05/2020 14:04

Pegs not only should match in pairs but be the right colour for the garment e.g harmonise or contrast attractively. I wouldn't dream of putting an orange peg on a red garment.Shock

clumsyduck · 09/05/2020 14:06

Your an absolute animal. Grin

However your garden is beautiful !!!

HipTightOnions · 09/05/2020 14:06

My son hung out his washing!
