Would you look at the state of it.

The socks are mainly Seasalt or Bam.
There is no child’s sock!
And certainly no ghost dog.
The Venn diagram would be just two circles because there is no overlap of people who worry about sock matching and people who listen to doof doof music slightly too loudly in their gardens.

I know this is a lighthearted thread but could somebody enlighten a non-Brit as to what this is all about? People don't like it when you hang socks there?

@TwelveMonkeys. Some people on MN get a bit twitchy if socks are not hung in pairs.

I don't understand? I can't hang washing out as the neighbours smoke weed and I don't like my washing smelling of it. Maybe I'm too common to understand.

Sometimes I just spread them out on the patio table to dry op. You got nothing on me.

I only put socks up in pairs and wouldn't dream of hanging a lone odd sock on the line TwelveMonkeys.

I never sort anything on the washing line. Used to embarrass my grandma when I pegged the washing out for her. By her standards it was also not ok to have washing out on a Sunday. I loved her dearly though.

What in God's name are you doing washing yellow socks with dark socks? There's so much wrong with this photo I can't even begin.

Oh God haha. I have a clothes stand thing, one of those ones that opens up with a flat top. I just dump the whole pile of washed clothes on top usually Then a couple of hours later I turn the whole thing over, move things about a bit so the wet bits don't stay stuck together, and job done! Hanging them on the bars takes up precious time!

For some reason I loose pegs so I actually peg socks to other clothes rather than give them the luxury of a peg for themselves 😱

Bad enough they're upside down AND they're not in pairs - but why's there a blue donkey's schlong in the middle of them?

Hell I dont even wear matching socks, let alone peg them out nicely. Currently wearu g white sports socks, one with pink band and toe, and one with purple. Quite impressed with how similar they are.

Does NEbody think if i got a Scoktopus gubbins it'd stop the odd sock syndrome;?..

Off topic really, but can I just say what a gorgeous garden you have, OP?
We're really lucky to have a garden, especially while we're in lockdown, but I have to admit to having a little garden envy on seeing yours.
