I just pegged the socks out.
I don’t care!
Would you look at the state of it.

Lengthways Aesopfable?

CambsAlways · 09/05/2020 12:30

Your post made me giggle. I must admit I hang mine out in pairs, but it would have made me laugh even more if you had a line of other washing out and hung odd sox in between

augustusglupe · 09/05/2020 12:31

Hanging out washing!? Not on the Avenue!!

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 09/05/2020 12:32

You haven't even shaken them out

Disgrace

viques · 09/05/2020 12:33

Faux sad face on.

Do you not have radiators in your house OP?

UnfinishedSymphon · 09/05/2020 12:33

By the toe????? Surely you hang by the opening to allow the wind to blow through?

Ernieshere · 09/05/2020 12:33
Biscuit

A sad day for us Virgos

Your garden looks nice, a bit of a tropical looking garden. You could do with a parrot in the trees,if you wan't some colour. , but the socks are fairly ok.. if only they went in order of size length down the line,as in longer ones first, going down to the smaller lengths. ha ha.

Bestoption · 09/05/2020 12:35

FMD

I had prepared myself (as best one can) for an initial distressing photo. You didn't disappoint- there's so much in there to strike at ones core.

But Jesus Christ woman you didn't warn that you were going to post further distressing photos!!! That's just cruelty - beautiful gardens & pets!

I'm sadly living in a flat with no outside space of my own - let alone a garden and having a cat here is to sign it up for a shirt life (a riad that's not busy, but seems to be a magnet to 🐈 and careless drivers) 😿

I cannot believe you thought further distressing images was acceptable!

😊enjoy, have a coffee out there for me 😎

Popuppippa · 09/05/2020 12:38

In order for me to recover I've just pegged my latest load out symmetrically and with matching pegs (this bit is VERY important). I side-eyed some of the pegs because they're a bit past their prime.

I'm the product of a Virgo mother.

ACupOfCoffee · 09/05/2020 12:39

But, but, but ... doesn't it take ages finding the other one to the pair in a basket full of washing, when you can just peg them in the order you pick them up??

Saucery · 09/05/2020 12:40

Did the Ghostdog steal the handknitted socks, OP? That’s the only excuse that will satisfy me for only having mass produced, intensively-farmed factory socks

BarleylemonPenguin · 09/05/2020 12:41

all placed on the line in the same direction ditto pants

How does one hang pants out in the same direction? Am I missing out?

Popuppippa · 09/05/2020 12:43

Ahem ... gussets and Y's facing forwards obvs.

yellowbrickwhorl · 09/05/2020 12:44

Barley - one hangs one's pants by the hip. All one way. Like the Can Can.

goingoverground · 09/05/2020 12:45

I am the kind of person who sorts the cutlery into groups when I load the dishwasher and hangs laundry by type and colour, even my wardrobe is organised by colour but... the only other acceptable way to do it is your way, so beautifully mismatched in colour, pattern and size that it is a work of art in its apparent randomness. Maybe you should enter it to Grayson Perry's Art School on C4, @FlamingoAndJohn?

BTW, I don't listen to doof doof music so you need to incorporate me in your Venn diagram as a new circle.

GreenTulips · 09/05/2020 12:47

Mine a two socks to a random peg and no they don’t pair up!

Sometimes added to a random peg if there’s aren’t enough to go round!

Oh dear ... Grandma will be horrified

missmouse101 · 09/05/2020 12:47

Yes, they need a shake out! I also have to put more distance between them for proper airing out!

megletthesecond · 09/05/2020 12:48

They should be in pairs on an Ikea octopus.

LoseLooseLucy · 09/05/2020 12:49

Really wish I hadn't looked 😑

Puddlesplasher · 09/05/2020 12:49

My DH has two pairs of those socks!

Thisismytimetoshine · 09/05/2020 12:50

All my pegs match 😇
Simply because I bought a job lot of blue ones Grin
They just happened to be single colour, I wouldn't have noticed cared if they'd been rainbow coloured.

MrsBobDylan · 09/05/2020 12:50

I prefer to tumble dry small items these days. The planet is fucked and I'm not getting any younger. Go ahead, flame me.

Bubbletrouble43 · 09/05/2020 12:51

I don't see any issue. Its a win in this house if a sock and it's partner find themselves in the same wash.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 09/05/2020 12:53

Why? Why? Why would you do that?!

I have some of those black flowery socks with the red heel/toe BTW and they're crap! They wore out within weeks.
