I just pegged the socks out.
I don’t care!
Would you look at the state of it.

What next?! Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies. Rivers and seas boiling. Forty years of darkness. Earthquakes, volcanoes... The dead rising from the grave. Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together - mass hysteria!

It’s the end of days, I tells ya!

LoseLooseLucy · 09/05/2020 14:10

What a good lad you've raised HipTightOnions, I'd be impressed.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/05/2020 14:13

My DS (20) hangs washing out for me (for "hangs" read throws it in the direction of the whirly gig and lobs a peg somewhere )

He occasionally mis matches pegs then wanders in sniggering .
He knows I will get a twitchy eye and the need to address this .

I usually screech "Oh My God , you are a Civil Engineer Student , how could you " (while privately thinking he will be Single For Ever )

I punish him by attaching his underpants to the line the crotch Grin .

HipTightOnions · 09/05/2020 14:14

All his own work. My hanging is much less orderly!

(He is 21 btw.)

legalseagull · 09/05/2020 14:16

Dam Ikea being shut - I now need one of these socktopus thingymagigs

CrocodileFrock · 09/05/2020 14:17

My son hung out his washing!

And I'm sure he's delighted that we can now all see his pants. :o

Am I the only one who had never heard of a Socktopus before reading this thread?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/05/2020 14:17

(He is 21 btw.)

Thank the Lord - I have 6 months to try and re-wire the brain of my tardy firstborn.

FlamingoAndJohn · 09/05/2020 14:21

I have just googled ikea socktopus and the 4th result down was a link to a mumsnet thread Socktopus is shit.

The real acid test is do you remove the pegs from the line and dis-assemble it at night time? I've learned on here that one who leaves the line up and god forbid the pegs on overnight is the height of a slattern.

This ^^

I am slightly pleased that I identified the BAM socks Grin They take a while to dry though...

I tend to not hang socks with a peg - I just drape them over the sides of the clean laundry basket to dry. So far none have blown away.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/05/2020 14:34

Is the Socktopus the "Pressa"?

The best, very best , hanger I ever had was one from Lakeland . Metal, , about 3' long but could fold up.
Really sturdy . I could hang the DC polo tops on it (when they were Primary school) and hang out about 8 of them.
They did a little version after but I never found one as good .
Sob

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 09/05/2020 14:36

Look. You don't need to peg socks. You just drape them over the edge of the washbasket that is sitting on the ground. No peg marks. No drama. Decorum restored. Wink

Pickles89 · 09/05/2020 14:43

I don't mind that but I HATE when people wear odd socks!! I mean why would you?!

DodgeRainClouds · 09/05/2020 14:49

I’m shocked you would waste pegs on hanging up socks! Use a socktopus...or do what I do most of time and hang then over the edge of washing basket and put basket in sun.

StopChelping · 09/05/2020 14:50

Pegging out skills poor, but your garden, your cat and your ghostly labrador are lovely. Therefore I forgive you.

Those spiders living in your lovely ivy are going to have a penistastic time on those crunchy toes.

I blame the parents

SchadenfreudePersonified · 09/05/2020 15:10

WHAT!!!!

They aren't even paired!

But at least your clothes pegs match, I suppose . . .

SchadenfreudePersonified · 09/05/2020 15:15

Just make sure you bring them in at night.

The last thing you need is for them to get darked on.

Lordfrontpaw · 09/05/2020 15:19

Spider willies...

VeganCow · 09/05/2020 15:32

Love your green garden, Ivy is great and I let mine go wild. The more overgrown (but tidy like yours) a garden is the better

SunshineCake · 09/05/2020 16:09

The only thing wrong is hanging them by the top rather than the toe..

SunshineCake · 09/05/2020 16:12

Nobody pegs them by the toe!

*@JaneJeffer, I do!!

HotMess21 · 09/05/2020 16:14
