Lythan St Annes is just along the coast from Blackpool and is much more genteel.

Thanks op! Think it's strangest home I've ever seen. Amazing carpets, the deer and giraffe and tv/arm chair in the kitchen. But burst out laughing when I got to the bed in the garage!! I wonder who sleeps there? Thanks for cheering me up!

I drove past it every day for 20 years. It’s not on the main road to Blackpool for everyone saying it is. It’s on the promenade. The main road to Blackpool is Clifton Drive, which is one road in parallel to this road. It’s in St Anne’s not Lytham. Both are much nicer than Blackpool. It will have gorgeous sea views dunes or not. All the houses there technically own a bit of beach but in practice it’s public land.

God almighty, some people got seriously bad taste! Don’t know about property prices in that area but 600k sounds a bit steep. You’d have to knock the whole thing down and rebuild.

It's not in Lytham though is it? I thought at first it was South Shore but the address says North. Blackpool town council should slap a preservation order on this. Then open it to the public. They've spent millions in trying to appeal to a different type of tourist and missed the point that Blackpool should celebrate its brashness and it's authentically retro establishments and market it accordingly. As to who owned it, surely there's a clue in the baby grand and the small organ. I'd bet on someone who played the end of the pier in its heyday. There was a brilliant programme about Blackpool in its pomp on tv the other night.

Lots of houses in the north-west are leasehold, £5 per year (fixed) and leases of several hundred years. And the owners of the leases changed in the late 90s for many of the houses that I know of.

There is no redeeming feature. They ahouod tear it down an put up something less painfully ugly
