A mugger? Is personifying the virus.

Now we are in maximum risk, lots of people looking at success and wondering if we should ease up. Suspect he's going to say no....

Acknowledging business is needed and sees the long term consequences of lock down.

Also a risk of a second spike balanced on this.

Seems like this will be more waffle?

Defied lots of predictions - didn't run out of volunteers, nhs didn't collapse (by shutting most of it??)

I wonder if he had any KIT meetings while he was recovering

SouthWestmom · 27/04/2020 09:18

Probably. I don't think he was allowed to get as ill as some people.

OP posts:
SouthWestmom · 27/04/2020 09:20

Basically, be like Capt. Moore. Stay in. No news. We will follow the science. Fuck all information.

OP posts:
GulliBelle · 27/04/2020 09:21

Well, that was a load of woffle, telling us absolutely nothing.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 27/04/2020 09:22

I’ve given up expecting information from this bunch of clowns.

SouthWestmom · 27/04/2020 09:23

Having seen the photos from Southend this weekend I suspect a growing section of society haven't been ill don't know anyone ill let alone dead and are beginning to push back.

OP posts:
NurseImogenQuy · 27/04/2020 09:27

What's a KIT meeting?

SouthWestmom · 27/04/2020 09:28

Keep in touch

Keep In Touch

Essentially it looks like he is floundering acting like he has a clue about the direction the country took while he was recovering

Mummyoflittledragon · 27/04/2020 09:31

He forgot to do the punch on one of the words he wished to emphasise, stopped himself and did a second take. For me, it seems as if he thinks as long as he waffles on saying very little with enough conviction, he will keep the country behind him.

All I could think is, I wonder how long it takes him to get his hair that scruffy. I’m monitoring hair at the moment. The female news presenters are impeccable atm. Sky btw.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 27/04/2020 09:31

Looking like he’s floundering is just Boris’s natural state.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 27/04/2020 09:34

Line up the world leaders next to each other. Vast majority look professional, intelligent, informed.
Boris looks like a kids TV presenter doing n impression of Trump.

Batmanandbobbin · 27/04/2020 09:34

Today I was hopeful that we’d get something.... anything but that was a waste of my already wasted day. (Yes lockdown has got to my mental health today)

Batmanandbobbin · 27/04/2020 09:34

@MonkeyToesOfDoom thank you!!! You made me laugh loudly, haha!!

JemimaPuddleCat · 27/04/2020 09:36

I didn't listen to it, but what do people want? If there hasn't been enough change, then things can't be changed. Do you want them to say "well, the situation is still the same but you people are bored and annoyed, so feel free to go out"?

SouthWestmom · 27/04/2020 09:37

I want some form of plan with levels of lockdown and anticipated dates. I also want to understand why we all have to stay in when there is no vaccine or cure in any imminent future.

OP posts:
megletthesecond · 27/04/2020 09:38

I can't bear to watch it. He's not learnt anything and come back a better person then?

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 27/04/2020 09:41

but what do people want?

Simple really.

Clearer rules for lockdown that stop the continued grief the police are trying to sort.

Clear and simple details on funding the NHS and getting their PPE and tests sorted.

Clear and simple detail on including all deaths in the count, not just hospital deaths.

Basically, what Boris just did, was the equivalent of the Thursday clapping. Plenty of noise, accomplishing nothing.

JemimaPuddleCat · 27/04/2020 09:41

@Noeuf - but they don't know exactly what dates and steps. They are not psychic. Some times taking things a day at a time is all that can be done.

GulliBelle · 27/04/2020 09:41

In now cheering myself up but listening to the resultant LBC phone in, never let's me down. Samantha was particularly impressive.

Mrstwiddle · 27/04/2020 09:42

His speech seemed perfectly reasonable to me, I really don’t get the dislike (on this forum anyway) for Boris Johnson.

SouthWestmom · 27/04/2020 09:51

I'm listening - was Samantha furious about planes? And wanting them quarantined or sent back
