What is worth every penny?

For me it is a few things:

A decent kids bike. One made with kid's geometry in mind, not just a mini adults bike.

Marmite. No other yeast extract compares!

My cat was. I bought her for £20. Best £20 I ever spent. Worth every penny.

OhioOhioOhio · 23/04/2020 17:35

Diet coke

SuperficialSuzie · 23/04/2020 17:36

Roomba, press, leave, come back to clean floors

Knittedfairies · 23/04/2020 17:41

Good bread.

justthecat · 23/04/2020 17:42

Decent bedding 100% cotton

CatTangle · 23/04/2020 17:47

My tumble dryer, Shark vac, and properly working fridge freezer.

James Wellbeloved cat food - contains lucca extract, which definitely makes my cat's litter tray smell less evil Grin

Beautiful bags, beautiful shoes, beautiful jewellery. Plus beautiful anything to do with style, fashion and beauty. I’m a bit of a magpie, I guess.

My iPad. Best piece of tech I ever bought. Especially now that I’ve got the Kindle app.

Funnily enough I really like Sainsbury’s own brand yeast extract - we buy that because we’re boycotting Unilever, so we can’t buy marmite. But as it turns out, we both prefer it to the ‘real thing’.

Oh yes, definitely the tumble dryer!

Dyson handheld vacuum cleaner. I love that thing.

Our duvet mattress topper. So amazingly comfy! Plus very good quality bedding.

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 23/04/2020 18:04

Books.

Every iphone I've had.

The Vero Kern perfume I'll be eking out for as many winters as possible now there will be no more of it.

PrawnSacrifice · 23/04/2020 18:07

Good quality shoes.
Comfy bed.
Decent lawn mower.
Dishwasher.

Ninkanink · 23/04/2020 18:15

Oh yes definitely the dishwasher!!

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 23/04/2020 18:16

Mint choc chip ice cream

00100001 · 23/04/2020 18:16

oh...i presse dpost too soon and didn't come back...i have more!

Good shoes!

A tempur mattress - saved our backs and we sleep so much better.

a cleaner! She only does the bathroom and toilet downstairs, but it's heaven!

Decent pillows. We recently upgraded to memory foam pillows and I've never slept better.

A decent chip shop. Our local is wonderful and definitely worth every penny, especially at the moment.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 23/04/2020 18:19

My kindle unlimited subscription. I read 5-10 books a week. I just want escapism, not complicated literature. Some of the stuff on there is rubbish, but some has been brilliant.

franke · 23/04/2020 18:20

A good haircut.

Chrisinthemorning · 23/04/2020 18:24

At the moment the best money I ever spent was £60 on a plum trampoline from Aldi.
Hours and hours every day, it’s saving DS sanity.
Wine. Saving my sanity.

reefedsail · 23/04/2020 18:29

Prep school fees
The cat
The cleaner
DS's sport

And at this specific moment in time, DS's laptop so we don't have to share with him.

Kirschcherry · 23/04/2020 18:30

I guess priorities shift but right now I would say...Good bedding. My iPad. Our Ooni pizza oven. Our Leisure Camper. Our Lay z spa. When this is all over we will have a night at Barnsley House in the Cotswolds and that will definitely be worth every penny.

reefedsail · 23/04/2020 18:30

Oh and Lurpak

curdsandwhey · 23/04/2020 18:30

Tweezerman tweezers.

Psychologika · 23/04/2020 18:33

@reefedsail can you say a bit more about the prep school fees?! How are they worth it for your family?

Dreamersandwishers · 23/04/2020 18:35

My dogs. Privately educated child might be cheaper but they are so lovely.

AgeLikeWine · 23/04/2020 18:39

iPads. No other tablet comes close, and at £349 the basic model is a bargain.

A good bed. When you consider the amount of your life you spend in it, the price is irrelevant.

Rainb0w · 23/04/2020 18:40

My dog think she cost £350 and I've had love from her every day she's helped me through some very dark days.

my online dating profile without that I'd have never met DH.

And more day to day my bed the most expensive thing I've ever brought but I love it every day.

CoolCarrie · 23/04/2020 18:40

Our dogs; one is a pedigree irish wolfhound who cost us a lot of money, but he is our hairy baby , he has a lovely nature, our other two are rescue mongrels who are very loving and sweet.
