For me it is a few things:

A decent kids bike. One made with kid's geometry in mind, not just a mini adults bike.

Marmite. No other yeast extract compares!

Yorkshire tea
Molton brown hand wash
But all bar soap from the cheapest to the best
Pure cotton bedding
Leather footwear with leather insoles
Rear parking sensors
Pairs of seats on long flights instead of 3s plus reserving exit seats if not ridiculously expensive e.g £50 = worth it
Balcony cabin on cruise holiday

heidipi · 24/04/2020 19:07

@fudgesmummy amazing! So glad you're ok.

@50UnagiSalmonSkinRoll where did you get your fly curtain from? This would change my life!

For me, all day all night contact lenses, regular threading and waxing, tempur pillows (could live without the mattress but the pillows are so so good).

wonderstuff · 24/04/2020 19:13

Tom Ford lipstick. I'm not usually a high end person but I have got four now and love them all.

wonderstuff · 24/04/2020 23:24

Our bell tent was. No waking up sweating as soon as the sun rises, can put it up or down on my own in 20 minutes. Bloody love it unless it rains

StealingYourWiFi · 24/04/2020 23:25

My new Peloton spin bike

My cockapoo puppy, she was bloody expensive for a mongrel Grin

MsTSwift · 24/04/2020 23:28

Hot tub. Proper one not inflatable and remodelled garden around it. Use it most days all year round. My happy place! Worth every penny.

Equimum · 24/04/2020 23:35

Private nursery fees for both children - both benefitted hugely from the amazing set-up.

Decent mattress.

Good car insurance. When someone drove into me last year, I called the insurance company as soon as I got home and they were amazing. We had a courtesy car of the same standard delivered the next morning, and our own car was fixed very quickly without any effort or chasing from us. Something I’ll never scrimp on.

London1066 · 24/04/2020 23:36

A wine you really like

Good quality bedding and pyjamas

Decent candles

Good quality shoes and clothing

London1066 · 24/04/2020 23:37

colouringindoors · 24/04/2020 23:38

the kids trampoline and swing
preloved robot hoover
fancy sliding doors in extension
multiyork sofa bought 20 years ago. Still so comfortable

BikeRunSki · 24/04/2020 23:41

@00100001, also kids bikes! And adult ones.My mountain bike, I love it. It makes up for an awful lot of unfitness!

DS’s guitar. He’s not that sporty, but really seems to be taken with music and has just passed Grade 2.

Zenithbear · 24/04/2020 23:43

Holidays
Our holiday cottage
Money spent on going out
Our motorbikes
Paying a dog sitter when we go away, piece of mind knowing that our dogs are looked after properly.
Decent boots, watch, jacket.
Nice bath sheets

TheClootieDumplin · 24/04/2020 23:57

Food! It's just me and two preschool dc but I spend over £100 a week on food. Olives, avocados, fancy cheese, posh yoghurt, real butter and exotic fruit costs a bloody fortune but I grew up on kwik save no frills range so I regret nothing

And long may you enjoy every single mouthful of it. Smile

RedRec · 25/04/2020 00:10

Pink Lady apples
Clinique foundation

spottygymbag · 25/04/2020 00:21

The mountain buggy terrain we bought with our first 3 years ago and is still going strong with our second. That beast has been to multiple countries, trained with us and run races.
The halo bassinest swivel sleeper- love it so much and don't mind the cost for such a short time because it makes life so easy.

Breast feeding clothes from Moolk. Quality and style that actually lasts.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 25/04/2020 08:48

For those with the lumea, how much effort and how long does it take to be hair free? Glad to hear they are worth the money as the epilator certainly wasn’t as I couldn’t get past one hair 🤣🤣

sleepingpup · 25/04/2020 09:26

Fascinating thread.

Our puppy. I would pay double for him now. He's got us through lockdown.

The coffee we like.

The massively expensive bread we like. OH never stops moaning about it ( or eating it )

Butter. I wince at the price. But.

My haircuts.

i phone.

sheepskin hot water bottle cover in winter ( i know Hmm)

cotton sheets with high thread count

plants for the garden

lovinglavidaloca · 25/04/2020 09:33

Our cats. I can’t believe how much joy they have brought to our family. We all adore them.

My soup maker!!

HarrietTheShy · 25/04/2020 09:56

As I get older, I try to think of how an item or service would improve my daily life to weigh up how much to spend.

Laser hair removal (If you want long term results proper laser hair removal is worth the cost. I used to get 5 o'clock shadow on my legs (!) and since laser I haven't had to shave them in years).

Macbook Air (just upgraded to the newest - absolute joy to work on).

Bosch Washer/Dryer (spent top dollar and now laundry is a pleasure).

Siemens Fridge (We'd always, always had cheap fridges until recently. Bought a Siemens and OMG I'm stunned by how much longer food stays fresher).

Shark hoover.

BikeRunSki · 25/04/2020 14:29

Blundstone boots. They go with pretty much everything I wear, fit perfectly and I can walk miles and miles in them. I’m on my third pair in 25 years.

Ninkanink · 25/04/2020 14:37

@IceCreamAndCandyfloss it’s no effort at all IMO. One full session (top lip, underarms, legs and intimate area) takes me about 45 minutes, and I just look at it as downtime/chilling/self-care. I usually watch YouTube videos or listen to vlogs at the same time to avoid boredom.

It took maybe two months to see no re-growth at all on underarms and legs, and a bit longer for intimate area. Top lip is almost completely clear but still needs a quick blast every two weeks, to maintain.

Once a month is good enough now to keep everything hair free.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 25/04/2020 17:03

Thank you Nink. I’ll take the plunge based on that. No one I know in RL has one and didn’t want to order without knowing more about it.
