Prime Minister writing his resignation letter, but putting a late Summer date on it. His baby is due in June.....

This is the left spreading lies again.

What, all of them? That's a lot of people crowded round one keyboard.

99% of fake news is from the left.

Fortunately we can listen to right wing politicians directly. People can watch Trump's press conferences, for example, and see what honesty, integrity and open government look like.

Topseyt · 22/04/2020 07:37

He isn't married to Carrie. Engaged only, and I think he isn't yet divorced fully from his previous wife.

Yes to Larry the Downing Street Cat becoming PM. I love him. Apparently though, he isn't best buddies with Palmerston, who is the Foreign Office Cat. I have that on excellent authority! 😉😃

I’d laugh if it weren’t so shocking. You might want to look into the Sock Puppetry accusations they Conservatives are currently facing. Oh and the did they / didn’t they lie about Europe and the purchase of PPE.

sashh · 22/04/2020 07:57

I do hope so. BUT who would we end up with instead?!

I think they either decide with a game of pass the parcel or they all pick a random number for when it is their turn.

TBH we have not really missed him while he's been ill.

scubadive · 22/04/2020 07:57

The man’s been really ill ffs, what sort of shitty newspapers are reporting this. What a shit rumour to start at a time like this.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 22/04/2020 08:05

It would make sense. He's congenitally lazy, disorganised and not very bright. His recent illness and the incoming baby allows him to step down with his reputation intact. He only wanted No 10 because it was a shiny bauble.

tinytemper66 · 22/04/2020 08:24

Sadly no. He will emerge as the one who saved us as he lay in hushospital bed.

Justanotherlurker · 22/04/2020 08:42

Bit ironic calling someone out and still trying to perpetuate literal fake news that originated from one guy on twitter with zero credible evidence , that has been debunked multiple times.

As long as suits the narrative though, it can't be called fake news obviously.

Oh and the did they / didn’t they lie about Europe and the purchase of PPE.

Are you talking about the EU PPE scheme? The scheme that we are a part of and that no country has yet recieved any PPE from?

Just throwing around non descriptive accusations doesn't make you seem that politically aware other than a reductive 'muh evil tories', maybe stop reading the Mirror and Independant, and obviously twitter.

Greyrosewall · 22/04/2020 08:47

Is that why Matt Hancock was so rattled yesterday?

AmyFl · 22/04/2020 08:58

Donquixote
That is so funny! (and true)

middleager · 22/04/2020 09:13

I think tiny is right.
His ego is way too big.

Medievalist · 22/04/2020 09:20

He's congenitally lazy, disorganised and not very bright.

There are many accusations you could justifiably throw at Boris. But "not very bright" really isn't one of them.

MitziK · 22/04/2020 09:39

Ha ha.

Nice try, Sarah. Stick to the Daily Mail for starting rumours about your husband becoming PM.

deydododatdodontdeydo · 22/04/2020 09:55

This is the left spreading lies again. Ffs, why can’t they think for themselves for once? 99% of fake news is from the left. It’s pathetic

You might want to look up the 100s of fake "NHS nurse" twitter accounts recently set up to praise Boris Johnson.
So transparent Grin

Justanotherlurker · 22/04/2020 10:13

You might want to look up the 100s of fake "NHS nurse" twitter accounts recently set up to praise Boris Johnson.

You might want to look at the zero evidence in the initial claim and the fact that both twitter and factcheck have looked into it.

Another one who ignores fake news if it suits the narrative.

And you have the nerve to talk about transparent.

Itsabitmessy · 22/04/2020 10:18

No idea If there’s anything in this. He has got the top job he always wanted but I can’t believe that he would be up for handling a pandemic. It isn’t what he had in mind or is relishing trying to wade through I shouldn’t imagine. It’s way beyond his skill set and way beyond his breezy, jokey, old boy shtick. He banked (literally) on getting Brexit done and not a lot else imo.

RantyAnty · 22/04/2020 10:24

Highly unlikely, although it would be nice to have a leader that offers more than the gift of gab and a big ego.

As others have said, this illness isn't something you get over in a week. If you're in ICU, you're going to have at least a little lung damage from it.

The only other thing I could see is sometimes a brush with death changes a person and it's hard to say what changes that would be..

HavartiToSeeYou · 22/04/2020 11:16

The Tory Party did rename the Twitter account for their official press office to “Fact Check UK” during the election to try to scam people into thinking it was some kind of neutral fact checking body. That’s pretty indefensible.

MarathonMo · 22/04/2020 11:26

We saw a heartening video message immediately post ICU, wouldn't we expect something suitably cheering this week to rally troops and keep spirits up? I hope he's doing well.

Justanotherlurker · 22/04/2020 11:32

That isn't what the other poster was alluding to though was it...

There are some on here who have literally fallen for fake news from some random twitter account because it suits their narrative.

When people fall for obvious bait and still bunker down on it, it delegitimises the actual truthful areas.

Oliversmumsarmy · 22/04/2020 11:36

Even if Boris resigned we would still have a Conservative government so I can’t see how it wouldn’t be business as usual.

No idea what Labour have to gain from this.
They are still the opposition and won’t get a chance to be in power for a few more years by which time this and Brexit will be a distant memory.

Or do they think that Boris resigning means he is resigning the Tory part from office and there will be yet another election they are likely to lose.

If they do then I think they need to reassess if they are really in the right job if they don’t know the difference between a PM resigning and a government being dissolved

CendrillonSings · 22/04/2020 11:54

Crime of the century there. So many people gave a shit about it that it really hurt the size of their majority...

donquixotedelamancha · 22/04/2020 12:17

Even if Boris resigned we would still have a Conservative government so I can’t see how it wouldn’t be business as usual.

Well a Gove leadership would result in some fairly big policy shifts. For example:

We'd move from the current 'contain' strategy on Covid 19 to one of sacrificing the blood of innocents to the Dark Lord in return for His protection.

Foreign policy would de-emphasise Brexit and refocus on conquest of Europe using an army of undead.

He's got bold policy ideas to reduce our carbon footprint, by replacing fossil fuels with those who refuse to submit to his will chained to giant wheels.

Of course, he's still a better option than Jeremy Corbyn.

Oliversmumsarmy · 22/04/2020 12:23

So let’s hope then that Boris isn’t going to resign and a bloody stupid piece of fake news being put out if Labour are behind it.

Thank the Lord that Labour (with or without Jeremy) didn’t win if this is the type of thing they come up with.

Proppedupinbed · 22/04/2020 12:53

Of course, he's still a better option than Jeremy Corbyn.

What does Jeremy Corbyn have to do with anything?! Arggghhhh..... it never ends....
