Prime Minister writing his resignation letter, but putting a late Summer date on it. His baby is due in June.....

OP posts:

...unless although his spirits are high, he has been advised that his brush with COVID-19 has inflicted or smite upon him a long lasting chronic health condition.

Much as I am cheered to see people coming through the storm of COVID-19, for those who were seriously affected, there are likely to be some long term affects on general health, e.g COPD, reduced lung capacity.

Overseasmom100 · 22/04/2020 00:20

It said on the news tonight he is speaking with The Queen this week and Trump Hmm couls be true

HopeYouGotTheLetter · 22/04/2020 00:26

Still waiting on those links, OP.

Oh wait, they don't exist.

SoupDragon · 22/04/2020 00:26

And?? He speaks to the Queen regularly, it's part of his job.

KrakowDawn · 22/04/2020 00:37

She's probably checking he's recovering ok, he is her Prime Minister.

As we are all currently taking part in a sci-fi movie with a cast of zillions, it's safe to say the unexpected isn't as unexpected as it might have been in boring old 2019

@OutwiththeOutCrowd. love this!

Medievalist · 22/04/2020 00:38

@Overseasmom100 - you do know that the PM has a weekly audience with the Queen right? So this just means he's starting to get back to work.

As for Trump - you may have a point there. Trump probably would be one of the first people Boris would speak to about resigning, wouldn't he .....?🙄

BeijingBikini · 22/04/2020 00:45

Is this one of those threads where someone high-up floats an idea to see if people support? Boris, is that you?

"AIBU to resign, I started a new job but the responsibilites are way over and above what I signed up for, also I'm having a baby soon and don't think they'll let me go PT afterwards"

KrakowDawn · 22/04/2020 00:47

Well, @Medievalist Trump has got a lot of positions in his administration that need filling... and BoJo is American born Hmm

LorenzoStDubois · 22/04/2020 01:13

He'll never resign. Ever.
He's going to be PM for a very long time, just like Thatcher.

LilacTree1 · 22/04/2020 01:48

Propped “ Why not resign now giving the baby and illness as an excuse while still retaining some sort of halo effect?”

Exactly. I bet he doesn’t even see the scaremongering shit no 10 churns out. And he won’t want to deal with the riots that happen because of lockdown.

sobeyondthehills · 22/04/2020 01:56

If you want the tin foil at time, now would be the time to resign for him, I don't think he can deliver Brexit, I think there is going to be a lot more coming out in the wash regarding how his government intially handled this virus.

He can put it down to the fact that he can't give the country 100% due his health and maybe throw in the new baby situation.

However taking off the tin foil hat, I agree with PP that he would never ever give up this job, he finally has what he wanted.

Topseyt · 22/04/2020 03:32

Of course it is true. It is utterly irrelevant though because Prime Ministers have always had weekly audiences with the Queen. It is expected of them. Most of them have always been in the pockets of US Presidents too. There is absolutely no big mystery or revelation in what you are saying. It is all perfectly routine and normal.

longwayoff · 22/04/2020 05:56

As if 😂😂😂

SinglePringle · 22/04/2020 06:00

Well, Murdoch clearly wants him gone and Murdoch usually gets what Murdoch wants so...

Mummyoflittledragon · 22/04/2020 06:02

I had a dream dh inherited a 50% share of a humongous chateau with Richard Thomas (Jon boy from the waltons). I’m still traumatised Wink. I think the odds right now would be the same as for actually inheriting the chateau...

Namesgonenow · 22/04/2020 06:05

hello OP.

Sources please. Proper verifiable links.

Thank you.

ChicChicChicChiclana · 22/04/2020 06:08

I wouldn't be surprised if he resigned. He doesn't have a consistent/reliable track record.

Nighting · 22/04/2020 06:13

Sounds eminently plausible to me. He's ticked 'become PM ' off his list. 'Work like a dog for no thanks and little reward ' was never on his list.

EngTech · 22/04/2020 06:14

6 pages of comments but no source or references 🙄

But I did speak to the Downing Street cat and they said...................😎

AuntieStella · 22/04/2020 06:15

I follow the Downing Street Cat on Twitter. He's fab.

Mummyoflittledragon · 22/04/2020 06:18

... and would make a better PM.

Unescorted · 22/04/2020 06:32

Mummyoflittledragon Larry the cat is a member of the civil service, he has more dignity than to become a politician. Wink

dottiedodah · 22/04/2020 07:22

Not heard this .He doesnt seem to be the type to run though .Maybe he is not feeling so good after his illness? Really like him and hope the rumours are false .Sometimes being seriously ill makes you take stock of your life, and he may want to spend more time with his young wife Carrie and their new baby .

Lovinglockdownlife · 22/04/2020 07:27

This is the left spreading lies again. Ffs, why can’t they think for themselves for once? 99% of fake news is from the left. It’s pathetic

Fallsballs · 22/04/2020 07:35

99% of fake news is not from the left, that’s the kind of stat a Tory likes to regurgitate.
