Fuck I'm excited. Haven't had a chippy dinner in over a month and our local has now reopened for contactless deliveries.

Fuck me, what do I have? Does this justify fish AND a battered sausage?

We had one on Wednesday!!

I had fish, chips and gravy, with thick buttered bread. And because I love condiments, I had salad cream with my fish too.

I want some but our local chippy is closed. I love a chippy tea.
We had pizza hut at the start of the week I put a little table outside the door and he left it there for me. I didn't want my food left on the floor like I have seen other peoples food being delivered.

All I can think about is chips now. Really wish I hadn’t looked at this thread! I rarely get chippy chips but mmmmmmm what a treat! Never had a pickled egg though.

I was eyeballing a chippy tea just now. Haven't had one for weeks and drooling. But. Our usual order is about £21. Getting the same through Uber Eats is £47! What the actual??

I'd kill for a huge portion of battered haddock and chips with mushy peas like we had every Thursday night (don't ask me why it was Thursday, it just was) when I was a teenager in Leeds. My Dad used to go to a chip shop in Horsforth on his way back from work. It was all deep fried in dripping or lard. While we waited for him, my Mum heated the plates until they were red hot and I'd lay the table, not forgetting salt, malt vinegar and Heinz tomato ketchup. All washed down with several cups of strong tea. Gorgeous.

On red letter days we went out instead to Brian's in Headingley or very occasionally to Harry Ramsden's.

Not sure if any of our local chippies are still open. Maybe I'll save fish and chips up as a great treat for when all this is over.

Home made pizza tonight followed by home made banana cake and custard. Tomorrow going to make chocolate brownies from Saturday Kitchen.

Our chippy is doing preorder, contactless pickup only. The only issue is that you have to order on Tuesday or Wednesday in order to have chips on Friday or Saturday. But we got a slot for last night, and I had gluten free cod and chips - which was a hard decision to make on Tuesday morning tbh. It was fab.

Ok, I'm going to go small fish and small battered sausage so I can have both, and chips and curry sauce.

Could get a couple extra battereds to have cold later...
