CHIPPY TEA TONIGHT!!!!

Fuck I'm excited. Haven't had a chippy dinner in over a month and our local has now reopened for contactless deliveries.

Fuck me, what do I have? Does this justify fish AND a battered sausage?

Best thing to happen all week.

OP posts:

Not near us they're not.

Soontobe60 · 18/04/2020 18:21

@GreyGardens88

cologne4711 · 18/04/2020 18:25

Gosh I would love fish and chips! I noticed our local chip shop on the high street had a sign saying they were closed due to the government rules on covid. But they only do takeaway...Confused and Sad

1forsorrow · 18/04/2020 18:27

So I can't have a chippy tea so to hell with healthy eating and I've had a fry up. A small piece of steak, sausage, bacon, egg, black pudding, hash browns and toast. Oh don't forget the cuppa. It was bloody lovely.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 18/04/2020 18:29

Chip cob, sausage , mushy peas and ice cream

Deadringer · 18/04/2020 18:35

Chippy tea here tonight too, fish and chips for me, yay! In ireland and the chops shops didn't close for lockdown, but you have to ring in your order, pay by card, no contact collection

Deadringer · 18/04/2020 18:37

Ice cream van is crazy, no way i could buy a cone from them. Round here they are selling eggs milk and bread.

nuttymomma · 18/04/2020 18:49

I messaged my neighbour "no way is DD going for a cone"

She replied "I sent my two out. he was wearing gloves"

[hmmm]

Yeah and has he been wearing the same gloves all day?

rosegoldwatcher · 18/04/2020 18:51

I WANT CHIPPY CHIPS!!!!!

Ginfordinner · 18/04/2020 18:58

I'd rather have a proper curry Grin

Lynda07 · 18/04/2020 18:58

Well at least you say 'chippy dinner' in your opening post. I don't get 'CHIPPY TEA', who has chips at teatime? I've heard that said in Corrie.

Have what you want when you want!

Aragog · 18/04/2020 19:02

Lynda07

Depends where you are in the country.

Round where I live tea is a meal in the evening, as well as a hot beverage.

Breakfast
Dinner
Tea
Supper (occasionally if you had tea a bit early)

Coronation Street is set in Manchester and I think they use 'tea' to mean an evening meal too.

Santaclauswhosthat · 18/04/2020 19:08

For all the people talking about battered black pudding yes it is amazing. In Scotland it's a black pudding supper. You can also get haggis suppers. They're not battered in slices though - they're a massive fuck off whole unit of either haggis or black pudding, deep fried, and they are lush.

WouldShouldCould · 18/04/2020 19:08

But what are the chips cooked in... If beef dripping I officially hate you.

WouldShouldCould · 18/04/2020 19:11

Chippy tea, dinner is at dinner time, like dinner ladies serve food at dinner time at school. You are not at school at tea time. And supper is just wonderful.

Stephie0x3 · 18/04/2020 19:11

If it was me I would get.... jumbo battered sausage, chicken nuggets and chips with loads of salt and vinegar, curry sauce and a cold can of Coke. Enjoy OP!

ChikiTIKI · 18/04/2020 19:16

I had a big tea and I'm really full. Can I just have a sniff of yours and a few chips?
Off to eat some brownies now. Be back later for the chips 👍

emmathedilemma · 18/04/2020 19:27

Ooh fish, chips & fizz. Not sure I could manage a sausage as well.....oooh matron ;)

NaughtyLittleElf · 18/04/2020 19:29

Lynda07 When's tea time for you and what do you have ?

freeingNora · 18/04/2020 19:31

Ours opened tonight they do battered gherkins I had a whole portion to myself with haddock and mushy peas n homemade tartare sauce bliss I tell you bliss Grin

freeingNora · 18/04/2020 19:34

I think it's more because someone else did the cooking and I didn't have to think about food planning it preparing it or sourcing it

Soontobe60 · 18/04/2020 19:37

Fish, chips, scollop, mushy peas and gravy. Plenty of salt and vinny. Mmmmm

ladymalfoy · 18/04/2020 20:23

We have a van in our village as we aren’t allowed ant take-away places.
Chips, battered sausage ,mushy peas and curry sauce. Loads of the chippy vinegar and salt. No scraps though. She doesn’t save them.
