I'm self isolating with a cold (as far as you can when you have kids who keep wanting to see you)... so entertain me... this thread is light hearted please so exaggerate them all you like Only on day 2 and ready to cry

I'll start

I am very distressed, in fact utterly distraught because Gousto have just emailed me to say they can't get enough balsamic vinegar to go with my recipes so they're sending me red wine vinegar instead... my world is ruined.

I've just ordered a peloton bike but the delivery time frame is 4-6 weeks!

Also my poor dog has D&V but I only have brown rice, risotto rice, couscous & orzo in the house so not sure what to offer in place of white rice to help his tummy.

Ooh I'm so jealous @mothtoaflame, they look awesome! I am a regular spin class goer usually and am now trying to make do with Les Mills online and the rickety old exercise bike that we dug out of our garage! Better than nowt though.

@mothtoaflame Risotto rice should be white. I don't think it has to be long-grain rice you use.

@mrschuckbass I should have been going away on Sunday . I may be delusional but I'm not letting go of my July holiday yet. Also rebooked Easter one for early Sept, and have a week booked in Oct. If all goes to plan I will mainly be spending the second half of the year out of the country!

Chocolate we have two longhaul in October and long weekend in December (Lapland) for the DC fingers crossed they won't be disappointed!

Just been in the garden. Found a massive dog poo with a paw print right in the middle of it. The dog has been all round the house, on the sofa, on the beds etc oh deep joy!

Debating whether to open a new bottle of Elizabeth Arden retinol ceramide serum capsules or to save it for when I next travel (but when??)

I miss getting my monthly massage and manicure at my local spa. To be even more obnoxious I am also sad that I won't be getting any Botox for the foreseeable future. Finally, just to make sure you realise just how awfully privileged I am, my favourite type of Oat milk was out of stock in Waitrose and Sainsbury's for two whole weeks and I was quite sad.

(Edit: I do realise that loved ones could die any moment and that this is all nonsense in the grand scheme of things)

Just took a bite of a crumpet with butter and Marmite.
Well... butter with a side of crumpet and Marmite, tbh, because, if I'm going to have butter I like a lot. Hence, I often have mayonnaise or chutney instead, especially at the moment.

So this was going to be a Real Treat.

Due to a blocked loo, I have had to start using the guest bathroom.

I live by myself, so am not going to have any guests in the near future...

I managed to get a rare food delivery, it will be the last for a month. DP saw that his usual Branston Baked Beans have been substituted for Heinz and expressed his disappointment.

@chocolatesaltyballs I hope it's worth it. I've done nothing but eat junk since we went on lock down as my luxury holiday was cancelled and I was so fed up. Annoyingly I had reached all my health and fitness goals the weekend before it happened. Feel like I'm back to square 1 so am hoping to at least emerge fitter and slimmer, rather than tubby and depressed.

@sueelleker thanks for the tip. I'm off to walk him now and if he's not perked up I'll be making him a plain chicken risotto for dinner

@mothtoaflame think of the endorphins! Would love to justify buying one but my astronomical David Lloyd membership fees don't make it worthwhile. But I have to say I'm enjoying my little home spin workouts while the gym is closed.

There are currently 14 spare toilet rolls in our bathroom- all of them 2 ply

Dp (who is currently chief hunter gatherer) managed to get a 9 pack amidst the chaos and bare shelves last week. However the relief was short lived when I realised just how much I missed my 3ply quilted. I was hoping that by the time we got to the end of the 9 pack things would have calmed, the shelves replenished and we could go back to normal but alas today he again arrived home triumphant with a 2ply 9 pack.

The light at the end of the tunnel seems ever distant...

I have got everything I need to make Chocolate Brownies except the ark chocolate . I am hoping DD will forget about then and I can pretend I never mentioned them.

I feel your pain. I bought Anchor spreadable because real butter was out of stock, I wrongly believed it was butter but it's mixed with oils and is truly disgusting.

In my own defence I am autistic so ridiculously anxious about having to eat different foods to my safe ones anyway.

Ordered a computer chair and it arrived self assembly. I thought I'd get a nice chair not one I have to IKEA into existence.
