What’s for dinner?

Looking forward to some interesting store cupboard creations!

Ours is nachos with pulled pork on top with Mexican spiced (probably completely inauthentic) rice. Pork and rice both from previous meals and out of the freezer, will add a tin of sweetcorn and maybe kidney beans depending on whether it looks enough (large family)

Crisps and dips bought this week as they were pretty much the only aisles that still contained food.

Carb heavy but I don’t care, I’ve had to cancel my wedding 😭

Cauliflower/macaroni cheese and salad.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 29/03/2020 13:35

Slow cooked chicken tikka with naan bread.

PatchworkMultiColouredKoshka · 29/03/2020 13:56

a quite plain shakshuka.

I do not have fresh yoghurt and coriander.

So it will be heavy on the dired chilli flakes. I am trying to alternate between fresh and store cupboard. But our village butcher has just advertised they will do meat pack home deliveries and it will be a bit of a meat box surprise. I am SO ordering this tomorrow!

On that note I have signed up also for our local milk deliveries also. They are also doing juices and eggs and bread.

Should have supported local years ago. I was always too busy, and lcoal was always slightly more expensive so I was looking to my own bottom line. But no longer- I am going local. If they will offer the service then it is up to me and my household to support them.

Made griddled flatbreads with flour and yoghurt, and had them with poached eggs and a cucumber salad.

Left over Wellington tonight. Any ideas on how I heat it without making the (beautiful) beef rubbery?!!

H1978 · 29/03/2020 16:06

@thecatschampagne. Maybe wrap in foil in a low oven????

We’re having spicy tomato chicken spaghetti with coconut yoghurt sauce and chopped cucumber and carrots

Shouldershrugger · 29/03/2020 16:15

Garlic tuna with spaghetti.. yummy

APatchyTomCat · 29/03/2020 16:50

Roast beef, Yorkshire's (if I can bear to spare the eggs), roast potatoes and the bendy veg

gerbo · 29/03/2020 17:28

Pork loin roasted, roasted carrots and potatoes, broccoli. A big treat, before a Monday to Friday of cheap veggie type meals!! (Omelette, soup, patatas bravas)

mbosnz · 29/03/2020 17:32

Lamb racks in a mint honey marinade, with creamy garlic mash, carrots, broccoli, asparagus and brussies. . .

JulesM73 · 29/03/2020 17:52

Home made steak pie, roast potatoes with cauliflower and baby sweet corn.

With homemade brownies and clotted cream for pudding.

mooboy · 29/03/2020 18:06

Homemade steak pie sounds amazing! I'm really craving some savoury pastries - Cornish pasties on in the plan for next week.

Nanalisa60 · 29/03/2020 18:13

Gammon steak, fresh pineapple, chips and peas!!

Floralnomad · 29/03/2020 18:21

We are having cheese and mushroom omelette , oven chips and tomatoes as I have eggs that need eating .

Bloodybridget · 29/03/2020 18:27

Last night we had paella with chicken, prawns and chorizo - the prawns had been in the freezer for weeks, the chicken came in our meat box last week, and I got the chorizo the last time I did a supermarket shop, the week before last. Tonight it's leftover paella!

paperdreams16 · 29/03/2020 18:33

Toad in the hole with mash, peas and cabbage.

BeansOnToast4T · 29/03/2020 18:42

Homemade cottage pie today.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 29/03/2020 18:50

I’ve made a chicken & leek pie using up the leftover roast chicken from Friday. Will have the pie with broccoli and green beans

AtleastitsnotMonday · 29/03/2020 18:54

Roast chicken, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, Yorkshire puds, stuffing, carrots, peas, leaks, broccoli and gravy.
Which I’m pretty impressed with seeing as I’ve not shopped for a week. Plus plenty of chicken left over and a gap in the freezer!

QueenofLouisiana · 29/03/2020 18:58

Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with roast potatoes and veg. I had quorn instead of beef. The local market provided everything except the flour.
I’m now making cakes for supper.

Giggorata · 29/03/2020 19:26

Chicken casserole and mashed potato for DH, using readycut veg we got cheap in the supermarket from the last time we went, freezer chicken and stock from my recently established stockpot.
I'm having left over fishy white sauce with leeks from yesterday's fish pie, with spinach stirred through, with an only slightly out of date tin of anchovies..
We will have enough mash left for tomorrow's brunch.

moolady1977 · 29/03/2020 19:28

Chicken thighs with mash veg and gravy for dinner today ,chicken and mayo cobs for tea used the thighs left from dinner and two cobs from yesterday , tomorrow is corn beef hash done in slow cooker enough for two days using the potatoes up cos they are getting past there best

Dowser · 29/03/2020 21:50

Steak, hasselback potatoes, peas and carrots

Spam88 · 30/03/2020 10:27

Undecided whether to have the leftover quesadilla filling on jacket potatoes, or pasta with cherry tomatoes, green pesto and Gosh bites (I call this spinach and pine nut pasta, but seeing as I have neither of those ingredients it feels somewhat fraudulent).

drspouse · 30/03/2020 10:32

Veggie burgers (we had rolls in the freezer) and marshmallows with the online campfire run by someone from Scouting (DS has just started Cubs and loves campfires!)
