What’s for dinner?

Looking forward to some interesting store cupboard creations!

Ours is nachos with pulled pork on top with Mexican spiced (probably completely inauthentic) rice. Pork and rice both from previous meals and out of the freezer, will add a tin of sweetcorn and maybe kidney beans depending on whether it looks enough (large family)

Crisps and dips bought this week as they were pretty much the only aisles that still contained food.

Carb heavy but I don’t care, I’ve had to cancel my wedding 😭

Sausages, baked beans, sweet potato wedges and mushrooms that needed using up

PenguinsOnParade · 25/03/2020 21:33

We had a pasta dish cooked in one pot with stock, tomato purée and spices, with a chicken breast shredded through, and then cheese melted in before serving.

Does that count as one chicken breast feeding four people if there was a good bit of pasta too? Grin

Rice, tinned mackeral in a spicy tomato sauce, vegetable curry and dhaal. Enough left overs for lunch tomorrow.

@YDYtrue

You have every right to be gutted about your wedding being cancelled. It's normal to feel upset and disappointed.

Sexnotgender · 26/03/2020 08:23

Tonight will be black bean chilli with sour cream, tortillas etc.

mooboy · 26/03/2020 08:35

Tonight is takeaway night!!!!

Spam88 · 26/03/2020 08:54

I've got one meal left from my Hello Fresh delivery last week so we'll be having that tonight - chorizo and sweet corn risotto.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 26/03/2020 11:11

Tonight we will have homemade pizza (dough in freezer from a while ago) and onion rings

mbosnz · 26/03/2020 12:56

Salmon with udon noodles.

delilahbucket · 26/03/2020 13:06

We're making pitta pizzas today with salad and I there's some halloumi that has been sat in the fridge for a while so I'm going to make flourless halloumi fries as I haven't been able to get any flour for the second week running.

drspouse · 26/03/2020 18:07

DH making corned beef hash, he set off the heat alarm Shock!

Rockbird · 26/03/2020 18:10

Sausage, mash, fried onions, Yorkshire puddings and veg. Feel totally stuffed now but it's a nice meal to remember when I'm on tinned pies next week...

MoonlightMistletoe · 26/03/2020 18:33

We're having homemade biscuits with Nutella or jams. We had a cooked late lunch so pudding it is for a change!

TwoZeroTwoZero · 26/03/2020 18:33

A Toblerone

golddustwomen · 26/03/2020 18:34

Gammon, mash, peas & carrots. That's all my food!

golddustwomen · 26/03/2020 18:35

Really wish I having toblerone

rosegoldwatcher · 26/03/2020 18:38

Homemade chilli from the freezer, leftover rice jollied up, some Mexican cornbread things that I had forgotten we had and a homemade salsa. The salsa is lacking avocado and coriander leaf but it will have to do! (In normal times I would have been sending DH to Tesco for these and some soured cream!)

Dowser · 26/03/2020 18:57

Tinned soup and tinned tuna salad.
I’m in seventh heaven ☹️

LadyJessica · 26/03/2020 18:59

DH and DS are making ‘Amok’, a Cambodian fish curry using haddock, turmeric lemongrass and coconut milk

Dowser · 26/03/2020 19:01

At least it’s not Monday

Same boat as you here

I like my salad on a hot day..not on a cool evening with the heating whacked up,
I’m doing my bit though

fleamadonna · 26/03/2020 19:11

We had vegetable curry (frozen, cooked a couple of weeks ago), rice (left in my porch by my lovely neighbour who knew I was low) and raita (with an extravagant duchy organic cucumber donated by my lovely dad).

Later I’m going to eat waaaay more than my daily rations of chocolate and wine because homeschooling as a single parent is killing me Wine

thecatschampagne · 26/03/2020 19:12

Korean fried rice for lunch (now out of gouchang, woe is meeee)

Burgers, chips and a deliverooed bottle of wine for dinner. Usually heading to Thursday office drinks right about now so only right...

I would kill DH for a milky way for pudding
