What’s for dinner?

Looking forward to some interesting store cupboard creations!

Ours is nachos with pulled pork on top with Mexican spiced (probably completely inauthentic) rice. Pork and rice both from previous meals and out of the freezer, will add a tin of sweetcorn and maybe kidney beans depending on whether it looks enough (large family)

Crisps and dips bought this week as they were pretty much the only aisles that still contained food.

Carb heavy but I don’t care, I’ve had to cancel my wedding 😭

Dh and ds had a pizza and dd and i had some tortellini.

Tomorrow we are having a roast chicken with lots of veg.

StealingYourWiFi · 05/04/2020 09:42

Poor man katsu curry tonight. Breaded chicken with mayflower curry sauce. I have some veg to use up so will make egg fried rice with it.

Deathraystare · 05/04/2020 09:46

Something tagine-y. I could do with an aubergine and some couscous, so I may need to brave a shop later.

I have one prepared from Friday thanks to a generous contributor to NHS staff!

They gave us Veg and couscous and some chicken and couscous. I had ione yesterday and can tell you that the veg and couscous was yummy. Had quite a spice kick!

namechangenumber2 · 05/04/2020 10:19

Burgers, wedges and salad tonight, that's the last of our decent meals - now down to rummaging through the freezer to see what we can find! We have a Tesco delivery coming tomorrow so hoping they have decent stock... 😬

mbosnz · 05/04/2020 10:28

Tonight is the inaugural BBQ! So excited! (And anyone that wants to tell me off for having a BBQ can bog right off. We're well away, and down wind from the only neighbours that would be affected, and they are not suffering from any respiratory ailments, I checked. Smile)

So that's honey, soy marinaded steak, saussies, potato salad, lettuce salad, corn on cob, and charred capsicums. . .

ironicname · 05/04/2020 10:50

@mbosnz that sounds amazing. I love that combo for a bbq.

We're having roast chicken with either salad and cheesy jacket potatoes or with roast potatoes and veg.

maddiemookins16mum · 05/04/2020 11:07

We’re having cottage pie, carrots, cauli and cabbage later. Followed my Paddington Bear pudding (which is basically marmalade sandwiches cut into quarters (crusts off), and then put into a buttered pyrex dish, three eggs mixed with a small tub of single cream/same amount of milk, some golden caster sugar and a grate of nutmeg). Yes I know it’s bread and butter pudding but we always called it Paddington Bear pudding. I expect my 5ft 7 nearly 16 year old daughter will want it in her Paddington Bear cereal bowl that she used as a child for old times sake 🤣🤣

Sexnotgender · 05/04/2020 11:52

Vegetarian chilli, rice and salad.

PinkCashmereTowel · 05/04/2020 14:25

steak, baked potatos and tinned green beans.

beautifulteeth · 05/04/2020 14:27

Roast chicken and all the trimmings

Tomorrow a barbecue

MulticolourMophead · 05/04/2020 14:30

Roast pork, with stuffing and Yorkshire puddings, using up the last of our cabbage and some carrots. I may roast some potatoes, but stuffing and Yorkshire puddings will likely be enough carbs.

Leftover pork being saved for tomorrow's dinner, a savoury fried rice with veg and meat chucked in.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 05/04/2020 14:31

Homemade spag bol

JellyfishandShells · 05/04/2020 14:31

Spam88 · 05/04/2020 14:48

Toad in the hole for us tonight

JingsMahBucket · 05/04/2020 14:58

I’ll probably make a vegetable and feta tart on puff pastry. Might throw on some anchovies too if I can get them today.

BadlyAgedMemes · 05/04/2020 15:05

Salmon (cook from frozen fillets), sweet potato wedges and oven-roasted broccoli.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 05/04/2020 15:10

Chilli and rice for us this evening

drspouse · 05/04/2020 15:37

Roast beef, yorkies, some kind of potato and cabbage with apple.

ellanwood · 05/04/2020 15:40

Herby chicken cooked on the BBQ with roast potatoes, mashed swede (DC have suddenly developed a passion for this - weird but it's veg so I'm going along with it) and purple cabbage cooked with apple. All a bit heavy for this hot day but it's what DH was craving.

SegregateMumBev · 05/04/2020 15:42

Chunky veg korma

Raera · 05/04/2020 15:59

@ellenwood
For your swede loving DC, google Singing Swede.
Cook whole without peeling in the microwave, then scoop out the middle. Yum!
