Comforting TV shows

BursarsDriedFrogPills · 15/03/2020 08:50

These are uncertain times. We are all likely to be at home a lot more than usual. So I'm after comforting TV shows to watch.

So far we've watched things like The Good Place, The Crown, The Split (not comforting as such but so well written). And now rewatching Death In Paradise (which is very not cool but also very comforting!). But I'd be very grateful for your top tips too.

No horror. Limited violence. And probably not hospital dramas at this point in time please!
TIA

Friends, it just makes me feel so at home and happy, and the fact they're all still friends in real life is the cherry on top.

I misread your title as 'Comforting TV Shoes' and thought how posh to have shoes just for watching tv Grin

OhhhPeee yes, agree! When you consider how long it ran for, it just shows how genius the writing and characters were. I think it's better than The Office David Brent version. Plus I was watching it whilst in labour/denying labour was occurring many years ago so I'm quite sentimental about it ... DD has recently started watching it so I'm enjoying it all over again.

Another vote for Parks and Recreation ... I've started a thread about this today, it's really warmed my cockles this weekend. DD loves the silly theme tune too.

And Brooklyn 99 is also excellent.

It's a bit more risqué with loads of swearing but Young Offenders on IPlayer is hilarious. Watch either the film version or the Tuna episode to get you started!

I wanted to give Detectorists a go based on all the recommendations, but I can only find it to buy on Prime? Is it free to view anywhere else?

It’s on amazon prime, well worth a watch if you like silly but clever humour
