Looking for a nice spa hotel in England

I was meant to be going abroad for my birthday but flights have been cancelled.
I’m in London so good train connections to most places.
Can anyone suggest somewhere nice for me to go and spend some time with my husband?

The Gainsborough Bath Spa is lovely and Bath is a great place to wander around.

I'm tempted by Pennyhill Park for my birthday - pricey but looks lovely.

Have never been so will be watching this thread closely for other options!

I did look at penny hill but put off by recent reviews on trip advisor!

Rudding Park in Harrogate

HollyBollyBooBoo · 09/03/2020 18:08

Stapleford Park, Melton Mowbray.

Geoffreythecat · 09/03/2020 18:10

Another vote for Rudding Park, it's lovely and regularly wins 'best hotel' awards.

Tiredoutteacher2020 · 09/03/2020 18:59

Pricey but Rockliffe Hall near Darlington is amazing.

TheGreatWave · 09/03/2020 19:02

Seaham Hall.

Train to Newcastle and then local train down to Seaham.

Simonsaysitschristmas · 09/03/2020 19:08

Another vote for Rudding Park in Harrogate (train wise it’s Kings across to Leeds and then Leeds to Harrogate which is only about 30 mins)

PloptheBarnOwl · 09/03/2020 19:12

Alexander House, quite close to Gatwick.

Ridingthegravytrain · 09/03/2020 19:14

Came on to say Alexander house. Secret escapes often have deals there. Been there for spa days and overnights. Not been disappointed yet

The Scarlet in Cornwall.

IndigoSkye · 09/03/2020 20:56

Ragdale Hall in Leicestershire is lovely and you can get to Melton Mowbray, Oakham and Rutland Water easily from there. It's my favourite place!! A

ChocRasp · 09/03/2020 20:56

A Treehouse at Chewton Glen would be extraordinary.
I think the spa is being revamped at the moment but might be nearly finished.

Grumpbum123 · 09/03/2020 20:59

Chewton Glen
Carys manor
Limewood

FizzyPink · 09/03/2020 21:04

Oh I am desperate to do Rudding Park. Wherever you go don’t do Champneys, the service across the chain is horrendous nowadays, they really don’t seem to care.

Racheyg · 09/03/2020 21:05
