Been geeking this morning on the number of flights having to go around

Noticed several Gatwick and Luton flights diverting to Stanstead

Check out DI7018 JFK- Gatwick

Two attempts at Gatwick, seemed to be heading for Stanstead, but now the Norwegian airlines crew seem to be taking everyone home with them!

A BA flight from Lyon to LHR looks like it's turning around and heading back to Lyon, 17 mins into the flight

The Lanzarote E Mids flight looks like it's on the same path as one going to Edinburgh 🤷🏻‍♀️

It says diverted to Glasgow. E Mids is my closest airport, I'd be pretty pissed off to end up in Glasgow! Though I guess Cologne would be worse!

Had an emergency alert for BA Lyon to LHR took off now turned and headed back to Lyon. Is there a way to find out why?

BA359 is interesting, it's landed literally stopped at the taxiway. With several ground vehicles showing so presumable police too. Also everything for Lyon is holding atm.

I'm trying to find out more...

Oh it seems to be on the move again now

Full emergency landing, tech issue (don't know details yet) and was stopped for the aircraft to be checked before it proceed to stand.

It's described as a general emergency - code 7700.

Yes, general emergency covers a multitude. It's often medical. Sometimes fuel if an aircraft it holding and need a a priority landing when in a hold for a while. Regularly the things that are what you would consider big emergencies are not time pressing so may not actually 7700.

A couple of the Gatwick ones last weekend ended up in Copenhagen!

Ah, Edinburgh was what I guessed first, but FR24 was saying Glasgow. Still, not much difference if you wanted to be in the Midlands!

FR126 is struggling at LGW

FR337 into Luton has attempted landing and now making pretty patterns as it goes in for a 2nd attempt.

He's not attempting again. Far too high.

FR126 is a go around as is the Barcelona flight behind it. Not sure that Barcelona even attempted to land

Bratislava to LTN seems to be heading off somewhere else.

W94482 Bratislava to Luton had a landing attempt at Luton (the altitude graph is interesting, it got quite low!) but obviously thought better of it and is heading north. Maybe to East Mids? Though given all the diverts from there it may not be...

Another LGW on go around, the wind is picking up where I am (about 45mins away from the airport).

Looks like Bratislava is off to Doncaster, as Wizz flies from there.
