Been geeking this morning on the number of flights having to go around

Noticed several Gatwick and Luton flights diverting to Stanstead

Check out DI7018 JFK- Gatwick

Two attempts at Gatwick, seemed to be heading for Stanstead, but now the Norwegian airlines crew seem to be taking everyone home with them!

My DH is a dreadful flyer.... not sure how I'm going to get him on a plane tomorrow tbh.... and that's if we make it through the rain round the M25 to LGW. If we were on that Poznan plane he would be in such a state..... so I really feel for those passengers

Spartonian · 15/02/2020 15:51

Wonder why Sofia flight could not land somewhere else in UK

belgianpringles · 15/02/2020 15:51

Sometimes they look as though they've gone past then spring back like they're on a bungee!

Haha, and sometimes the turbulence makes you feel like the plane really is on a bungee!

Where is he off to now???

belgianpringles · 15/02/2020 15:52

Thunderpunt good luck - can you get a tranquiliser dart from the vet?

clamig · 15/02/2020 15:52

LS384 from Salzburg is currently circling Leeds Bradford. It seems like it's had about three aborted landings there so far.

ToPlanZ · 15/02/2020 15:53

Anyone else watching LS384 Salzburg to Leeds?

NoGravyForYou · 15/02/2020 15:54

Is Poznan off to Birmingham?

belgianpringles · 15/02/2020 15:54

If Poznan keeps going on this route he's going to be going overhead in a moment. LS384 has been round the houses hasn't it - maybe it'll give Cardiff a try soon?!

NoGravyForYou · 15/02/2020 15:57

Sofia is just over Brussels. I had a quick google and still haven't figured out why Cologne.

SquishyFishy · 15/02/2020 15:58

Yep - looks like he's going for another attempt

Ohdeariedear · 15/02/2020 15:58

I had the worst landing of my life at Leeds Bradford on a wee Embrauer jet from Edinburgh. A swoopy bouncy sideways nightmare!

belgianpringles · 15/02/2020 15:59

Poznan has gone right over me, not that I could hear anything over the wind which is blasting down my chimney.

BabbleBee · 15/02/2020 15:59

Birmingham looks likely for the Poznan flight.

Papyrus · 15/02/2020 16:02

Salzburg seems to have landed.

belgianpringles · 15/02/2020 16:02

From memory, Ryanair has a staff base at Cologne.

Thunderpunt · 15/02/2020 16:02

Is Birmingham even open?? Looks very quiet on the ground there

belgianpringles · 15/02/2020 16:03

Posnan will be turning soon if it's going into B'ham as it's south east of where it is now.

NoGravyForYou · 15/02/2020 16:03

Birmingham was open earlier because two flights from there landed in Dublin about an hour ago.

Thunderpunt · 15/02/2020 16:05

Belgiumpringles believe me I've tried to get him to take something but apparently he needs to be fully 'compus mentis' in case something happens, like he could help land the plane or something GrinGrin

rainbowcase · 15/02/2020 16:05

Ryanair has a base at Cologne. Lots of UK airports with problems and diverted aircraft. Soon it will be getting to the stage where they cannot be accommodated. For some reason Cologne was the best option. If diverting far a base airport is always the preferred choice.

Thunderpunt · 15/02/2020 16:06

Good call - he's just gone round.... on for a first attempt!

rainbowcase · 15/02/2020 16:06

I hope this Ryanair manages to lane at Birmingham on attempt one. Poor passengers!

belgianpringles · 15/02/2020 16:06

Thunderpunt you've been letting him watch Airplane again haven't you?!

Thunderpunt · 15/02/2020 16:09

Belgium What a film!!
