Been geeking this morning on the number of flights having to go around

Noticed several Gatwick and Luton flights diverting to Stanstead

Check out DI7018 JFK- Gatwick

Two attempts at Gatwick, seemed to be heading for Stanstead, but now the Norwegian airlines crew seem to be taking everyone home with them!

Newquay has had another 15 minutes estimated til arrival. Imagine it's pretty tense aboard that little plane right now

ToPlanZ · 10/02/2020 21:04

Flew into Manchester tonight and it was bumpy but not bad. Leeds is my local airport so I'm glad we weren't flying here. It's always a hard landing at the best of times. Now sat watching in horror as the planes are going around. I hate go arounds, make me so nervous.

TabbyStar · 10/02/2020 21:06

Does anyone know what the grey lines mean? I tried Google but it didn't help.

Which grey lines? Can you screen shot them?

billsmothers · 10/02/2020 21:07

Oh, do you mean the dark grey lines? I think they are the planned route vs the actual route.

NumberMonkey · 10/02/2020 21:08

Do you all have pad for FR24? I can’t see where the alarms/alerts are.

smashstore · 10/02/2020 21:08

If you mean the lines when you click on a plane and the line is in front of it it's basically FR24 guessing the rest of the flight path to the destination airport.

Freeshavocado · 10/02/2020 21:09

The Newquay flight has disappeared off mine altogether

AngelOfDeathNix · 10/02/2020 21:09

These grey lines? They are airport vehicles, if you click on them, it tells you about them......found a fire truck earlier!

To me the grey lines look like the destination as the crow flies rather than any actual route. Could well be wrong but always looks like a straight line. Totally lost Newquay now

NumberMonkey · 10/02/2020 21:10

I’ve lost Newquay - has it managed to land at Manchester?

TabbyStar · 10/02/2020 21:10

Yes, dark grey lines, I assumed they were something to do with planned route, but wasn't sure, thanks. Looks like Krakow might be heading back to Leeds.

happycamper11 · 10/02/2020 21:11

And krakow looks like it's heading back to LBA after nearly making it to MAN

TabbyStar · 10/02/2020 21:13

Newquay showing landed on the Leeds arrivals list, though not that it landed in Manchester!

billsmothers · 10/02/2020 21:17

There's a flight from Athens circling over Kent at the moment, due to go into Heathrow - BA633

happycamper11 · 10/02/2020 21:17

I followed a plane from Stornaway to EDI yesterday (before I found this thread unfortunately) it attempted to land before heading west along the forth. I lost it trying to flick to 3d mode and never did find out where/how it landed but it didn't show up on the EDI arrivals board at any point

Freeshavocado · 10/02/2020 21:18

Newquay and Stansted both disappeared as they approached Manchester for me, I think Krakow is just circling and waiting to join the MAN queue.

billsmothers · 10/02/2020 21:23

The Athens flight looks to be heading to LHR now but it's not in the landing stack with all the flights coming in from the rest of Europe. I have visions of them pushing in like a motorist 'accidentally' in the wrong lane Grin

happycamper11 · 10/02/2020 21:23

Krakow seems to be doing a merry dance between the 2 and keeping options open

smashstore · 10/02/2020 21:25

It's normal for the Flybe Dash 8's to disappear at that altitude. The transponders don't pick them up under about 1000 or so feet.

billsmothers · 10/02/2020 21:26

I'm glad I'm not on that Krakow plane.
Athens now looks to be heading off to join the stack.

smashstore · 10/02/2020 21:27

The Athens flight looks to be heading to LHR

What the flight? It almost 100% won't be diverting into LHR.

smashstore · 10/02/2020 21:28

happy

That would have been a Loganair Saab 340/2000

  • like the Flybe dash 8's FR24 doesn't pick them up under 1000 ish feet.
billsmothers · 10/02/2020 21:30

It's scheduled to go into LHR - BA633.

AngelOfDeathNix · 10/02/2020 21:31

Krakow flight looks like it's abandoned Leeds and is now stacking to come into Manchester
