Daft things you're excited about

I bought some delightful heritage eggs today. Two blue, two white and two brown from rare breed hens.

I know it's absolutely ridiculous but they make me so happy. The blue ones are so pretty!

So what silly or daft thing has made you happy today?

I love blue eggs. I also love quail’s eggs - the mottled patterns make me very happy!

rednsparkley · 28/01/2020 16:48

They are lovely eggs 😍 Almost too pretty to eat.

I always get ridiculously excited by snow. I love it and am more giddy than the kids when we ever get some which is not often enough

Ninkanink · 28/01/2020 16:50

Me too, especially when it’s actually snowing (even better if it’s the big fat snowflakes that drift down so beautifully - it’s just so magical and for a little while the whole world looks like a fairyland! ❤️❤️❤️

QuestionableMouse · 28/01/2020 16:52

Quail's eggs are lovely! I just wish I had the patience to peel them! 😂

Thinking about boiling one for my lunch at work tomorrow because it'll make me happy when I see it.

I also love snow! When it's all white and crisp and lovely, not when the slush starts!

I get joy from when the mileometer ticks over to a 'nice' number like 30000 or 12345.Not as much now with digital as when they were mechanical though.

Also joy when supermarket shopping comes to a whole pound.

Inherdefence · 28/01/2020 17:10

I get the supermarket shopping coming to a round thing. To maximise the value I get from my supermarket delivery subscription I always try and get every shop as close to the £40 minimum shop as possible. A £40.01 shop fills me with joy. Tomorrows delivery is nearer £55 and I’m very disappointed.

I am always delighted when I go to have my shellac nail polish removed and it lifts off in one piece. Quite apart from the fact that it saves time and they don’t have to scrape away at my nail surface, it looks so pretty and shiny like that.

QuestionableMouse · 28/01/2020 17:44

My last shop came to 6.66 (was just bread and milk and such.)

What made me laugh was the assistant's reaction - she asked me at least three times if I wanted to add something on or take an item off.

I made onion rings for dinner and was excited about them most of the day.

RickOShay · 28/01/2020 18:59

I’m making a pompom. It’s massive because I did the hole too big, it’s used about 10 balls of wool, but I can’t stop now. It was supposed to be something to do with the dc, but they’ve lost interest as it is taking soooooooo long.
I can’t wait to see what it looks like GrinGrin

RickOShay · 28/01/2020 19:00

Actually dc2 has taken pity on me recently and is helping.

QuestionableMouse · 28/01/2020 19:00

Omg you have to post a pic when it's done.

Bin day, I love it when
The wheelie bin gets emptied! I don’t know why, it’s never even half full, it’s just so satisfying

iklboo · 28/01/2020 19:03

DH is bringing me chips & gravy from my favourite chippy when he comes home tonight.

CatsMother66 · 28/01/2020 19:06

I ordered flexible chicken perches for my run which will come tomorrow. Can’t wait to fit them and watch the chickens enjoying them🐔

QuestionableMouse · 28/01/2020 19:08

I wish I could have chickens again. Loved them but my current dog would probably try to kill them.

@RickOShay now I’m also excited about your Pom Pom!

Spied · 28/01/2020 19:13

When it's someone's Birthday I get ridiculously excited about choosing a card.

RickOShay · 28/01/2020 19:14

@QuestionableMouse
I will! Hold on I’ll get a pic of it now.

TheBookThief · 28/01/2020 19:15

Oh I used to make Pom poms for the chinchilla Persians. They loved them.

Waitrose do pure white eggs.

I’m getting a new table top freezer. It’s going to make life so much easier.

katy1213 · 28/01/2020 19:22

My dead amaryllis has a big fat bud.

ThePolishWombat · 28/01/2020 19:23

Going in the biscuit tin and finding a surprise party ring left that the dcs hadn’t nabbed Blush

LuvMyBoyz · 28/01/2020 19:30

I found a small curly wurly under the Parmesan today. I vaguely remember DS23 giving it to me from his selection box at Christmas. I obviously didn’t care then in mid choc-fest but am very excited now it is the only chocolate in the house. Just deciding whether to eat it now or save it until tomorrow.
