Daft things you're excited about

I bought some delightful heritage eggs today. Two blue, two white and two brown from rare breed hens.

I know it's absolutely ridiculous but they make me so happy. The blue ones are so pretty!

So what silly or daft thing has made you happy today?

I bought these new microfibre cloths to clean my new fridge with tomorrow. Normal cloths weren't cutting it obvs. I can see streaks and its messing with the white bright lighting beaming down through the shelving. hides in saddo

Eggs have been boiled and are chilling in the fridge for tomorrow. I also have rainbow carrots which I'd forgotten about. There's just something fun about eating purple carrots. 😂

Opening a new box of Yorkshire Tea. The lovely smell when you lift the lid.

I love having the wheelie bins emptied. Mine rotate between non recycling one week and garden waste the next. One garden one was missed due to Christmas so I have a back log and still have part of the Christmas tree left. Tomorrow morning it's all gone.

I could have taken it to the dump but it's not as satisfying.

DH running out of instant coffee and needing a new jar. Breaking the foil top open dramatically with a teaspoon is my absolute best thing!

I love anything baked that has a cheesy topping because I know when I get the empty dish to myself I'll be able to pick off all the crispy bits from round the edge.

I had purple radishes for lunch today. I also had an excellent chunk of garlic yarn on oatcakes, which felt like a wonderful treat for a work day lunch.

Also, I started a new notebook. New notebooks make me very happy!

Especially if you have a new pen to go with them. 😊

My initial thought when I saw the thread title though was being excited about my chickens. And how they lay eggs most days. After 3 years I definitely still get excited collecting their eggs.

I did do it for my cats originally. I knew I’d done the hole too big from the beginning but naively thought it wouldn’t really matter!! Well. I know better now. I’ve got a Stanley knife at the ready.

I'm so excited that DGS2 needs babysat tomorrow on my WFH day - Finally they coincide! I shall be hard pressed to get anything done, but intend to start really early and (if he naps) work at warp speed. DH usually gets all the fun of the very occasional request to babysit. Tomorrow is ALL MINE :)
