I bought some delightful heritage eggs today. Two blue, two white and two brown from rare breed hens.

I know it's absolutely ridiculous but they make me so happy. The blue ones are so pretty!

So what silly or daft thing has made you happy today?

Ah! So close! When is the pompom going to be revealed?

RickOShay · 31/01/2020 20:04

Hopefully over the weekend.
Dc2 is getting a bit more invested now, which is a big help.

kemosabeimalone · 31/01/2020 20:11

There’s a chow chow dog on the school run that looks like a little black bear- I get ridiculously excited every time I see him and have to resist going over to hug him! I even sing a little song in my head when he appears which goes 🎼‘He’s the dog that looks like a bear - what’ll he do today?🎼!Grin

JemilyJ · 31/01/2020 20:13

@RickOShay what size balls of wool are they? Just trying to imagine how heavy that must be!

NotLangNow · 31/01/2020 20:17

Ahh this thread is lovely. My Auntie used to have a Chow back in the 70's. He was called Chang. Very fond memories.

In answer to you OP, I got ridiculously excited last week when my supermarket started selling Blood Oranges.

I’ve bought some IKEA mini shelves and some under shelf drawers for the pantry. I’ve got some already, and they’ve made it so much tidier and easier to find things. And these new ones will help even more. I am so looking forward to them arriving.

Passed my driving test a couple of months ago, am now driving what was my husband's car... .
Happiness is a half tank of petrol!!!
Any less and I start to feel anxious but oh my days, half a tank makes me soooooo happy .....

RickOShay · 01/02/2020 08:42

@JemilyJ
I’ve just weighed it!
It’s just over a kilo. I think one more ball will just about do it, getting excited now Grin

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 01/02/2020 18:37

Hoe often do I need to check this thread?
I do not want to miss the big pom-pom-ing event?

HetHetHet · 01/02/2020 19:07

I'm totally invested in pompom watch. Confused

RickOShay · 01/02/2020 21:38

I’m trying, but there’s still more to go, think it will need another ball. I’m on turquoise now.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 01/02/2020 22:21

Oh that looks so good!!

I remember when I was a child, some relatives would drink a digestive liquor after family meals from tiny single drink bottles and an aunt used to crochet around those bottles and turned them into little poodles by adding tiny pom poms for the top of the head and the ears.

LittleTopic · 01/02/2020 22:23

I’m going to the garden centre tomorrow GrinGrin

GADDay · 01/02/2020 22:27

Bees. When I see them, I get so excited that good things are happening. Super odd, I know.

Full pantry on the first day of the month - we do a monthly shop. When it's all packed away neatly - I get so excited at the prospect of the delivery driver arriving.

Gemz1806 · 01/02/2020 22:28

My lovely friend made me a macrame plant hanger in grey for my spider plant my now 7yo gave me in P1 for mothers day. She made is last week but I've not seen her since today and I've been so excited all week to get it and hang it. It was worth the wait! Looks amazing!!!

florababy84 · 06/02/2020 07:42

Has the pompom been born yet?

Excitedaboutanamechange · 06/02/2020 07:46

Place marking for the pom pom!

HeronLanyon · 06/02/2020 07:53

Looking at maps of cities superimposed on map of London. Manhattan is so much smaller than I’ve always thought when compared to home turf.
Writing done things on my rolling to do list and immediately crossing them off - what a delicious waste of time !
Days when being in good, sociable frame of mind (not always) bring about good sociable random interactions. It seems to be infectious !
Ability to poach an egg perfectly.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 06/02/2020 19:36

Ahem @RickOShay. People are waiting. Just saying. No pressure.

BUT WHERE IS IT??????

(I may possibly be a tad over excited about this)

thespellhasbeenbroken123 · 06/02/2020 19:47

I'm here for the Pom Pom

morrisseysquif · 06/02/2020 19:47

I can't knit with needles BUT discovered I can knit a scarf on a french knitting loom, it is very very easy and therapeutic. I can't cast off yet though.

I just discovered Last Tango in Halifax on BBC iplayer and there are lots of seasons to watch!

Gramgram · 06/02/2020 22:54

A patch of violets made me ridiculously happy when I saw them on Sunday. I took DH for a long walk today just to see them again. I regard them as a sign of spring and warmer weather to come.

Looking forward to seeing the pompom finished.

HetHetHet · 07/02/2020 10:41

RICKOSHAY'S POM POM
