New thread for a new year!

A diary thread for our daily meals, to record, share, glean menu inspiration and chat, but no judging each other’s food choices.

Let’s include some recipe-sharing in this thread Smile

Yesterday was quite an odd food day for me. I had a croissant and caffe latte for breakfast, then I finally finished that broccoli and sweet potato stir fry with peanut sauce. later I ate three tempura prawns, a breakfast cookie, and a couple of pieces of 85% chocolate, plus some red wine.

I've been making a batch of vegetarian food every Sunday to eat through the week. This week I made this with some minor modifications: ketodietapp.com/Blog/lchf/low-carb-vegetarian-greek-briam

Pretty excited to eat it over the next week, but undoubtedly will be tired of it by Friday. Photo attached Smile

Black coffee x 2

A low carb snack bar at 12

Another coffee, small handful of nuts and a small piece of cheese in the afternoon

An omelette in a low carb wrap for dinner.

No booze again tonight. I had two drinks last night so I’m back on the wagon.

We batch cook too, dellacucina, depending on the week ahead. Makes life so much easier. We’re trying to clear the freezer so I’ve made a curry tonight which will do for another night and we’ll eat some of the three random tomato-based whatevers from the freezer as well (must label...)

B - slice of walnut bread with butter and peanut butter
L - veggie sausages, garlic mushrooms on toast and scrambled eggs
A pear and an oat molasses cookie, two crackers
D - chickpea coconut kale curry with brown rice, tenderstem broccoli and chutneys; beetroot brownie with creme fraiche

I ate a vast amount yesterday. After everything I posted I had a slice of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream.

I've honestly felt out of sorts and sluggish today from eating too much!

So today I've had a home made bacon and egg sandwich, some apple juice, tea, coffee and a small spinach and ricotta canneloni ready meal. Nothing healthy there but I was hungover and lazy.

Nuttyaboutnutella · 16/02/2020 21:06

Another odd hodge podge. My daughter is away and I don't do well at eating normal meals on my own.

Loads of espresso with milk, a croissant
Half a bell pepper with hummus
Some grapes
Met friend for a flat white
Small serving of the vegetable thing I made
A breakfast cookie
Some more grapes
A piece of toast with an egg
Square 85% chocolate
Large glass of red wine
Three green olives

Valkadin · 17/02/2020 02:43

No breakfast
Roast gammon, mash potato, mange tout, carrots, peas, sweet corn gravy
Homemade mixed berry crumble and custard

I made a soup using the stock from the gammon as I slow cooked it for four hours before roasting it. Added carrots, potatoes, leeks and red lentils and had a bowl for my supper.
