New thread for a new year!

A diary thread for our daily meals, to record, share, glean menu inspiration and chat, but no judging each other’s food choices.

Evening!

Usual muesli etc
Leftover salads from last night with hummus and crackers
Grapes and a nashi pear (crisp but without much flavour)
Homemade veggie burger in roll with cheese and gherkin, sweet potato fries, smoky mayo
Vanilla eclair and an oat molasses cookie

B - mini shredded wheats with chopped banana
L - lentil and tomatoe soup, ryvitas with slices of halloumi and cherry tomatoes
S - grapes, satsumas
D - quorn spaghetti Bol, chocolate mousse.

Haven’t done too well with meal planning and have quite a lot of veg, salad leftovers and some other bits that need eating this weekend. They don’t quite translate into sensible meals. So might have some ‘interesting’ combinations to report.

B- blueberry and banana oats with almond milk
S- plum
L- itsu katsu instant noodle pot
S- piece of shortbread, popchips
D- 1/2 Aldi american hot pizza, big salad
S- yoghurt, banana, handful granola

maybe a couple of biscuits later

I was very bad today. I didn't have any breakfast or lunch (apart from DS force feeding me the sausages he didn't want for his lunch) and just had home made Japanese chicken and veg curry with rice. However, on the plus side my Friday night glass or two of wine is guilt free Smile

Tea and biscuit for breakfast.
Cappuccino midmorning.
Soup and bread roll for lunch.
Chicken and veg curry with rice.
Glass of wine and couple of squares of chocolate.

Have really gone off the rails with the diet the last few days! No breakfast again and had two ham cheese and coleslaw rolls for lunch. We're also getting takeaway pizza for dinner. Must give myself a talking to and get rid of this weight!

Enjoy the pizza, Rocky! It has tomato sauce so it’s one of your five a day Grin

I’ve had muesli etc, then tofu scramble with brown pilau rice and chutney followed by a pear, and for dinner poached salmon with leftover salads, and some tenderstem broccoli that needed to be used up.

Also had a couple of cheese straws, a piece of chocolate and an oat milk turmeric latte. Planning on some more chocolate and maybe a macaroon or two in a bit.

Hello @AwkwardSquad - how nice of you to think of me! I am fine, just got out of the habit of logging food here. About to have sea bass with lemon and caper dressing, new potatoes, tenderstem broccoli and green beans, followed by Liverpool tart which DP fears has curdled!

The plan changed a little bit lol I'm now sat waiting for a Turkish feast to be ready to pick up. I'll be having lahmacun and then chicken kulbasti with rice and salad

B - museli with grapes
L - omelette made with cheese, tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms and onion. A whole meal pitta
S - quorn mini sausage roll, satsuma
D - pad Thai, g&t and some chocolates 😊

Then I actually went to the shop
Tea was gnocchi, in spicy tomato sauce with kale, broad beans and mushrooms and baked with a bit of pesto on top

B- two slices of honey and sunflower toast with crunchy peanut butter.

L- homemade ’green’ soup (lots of green veg), with grated cheddar on top.

D- crunchy veg stir fry.

Snacks- salted caramel and cocoa dusted almonds.

Two decaf coffees, one glass of alcohol free wine, and lots of water.

B: porridge with almonds and blackberries
L: had it late so was ready to chew off my right arm 😆 I had a pesto and mozzarella toasted sandwich with salad, grapes, yoghurt and two dark chocolate digestives
S: small handful of pringles
D: not too hungry so just had battered cod and peas

L- salmon sushi wrap and some melon chunks
S- veggie straws and a few jellybeans
D- quorn nuggets, oven chips, steamed veg
Not sure what I'll snack on yet, I fancy some ice cream but I'm not sure we have any...

Not done well again today. Had an unexpectedly busy day (menu planning, food shopping, having to take DS out for a walk to town so DH could hoover for me amongst other things) I've hardly had time to sit down!!! Had two ham and coleslaw rolls for lunch, and I'm just starting to make toad in the hole with broccoli, carrots and sweet corn now. Then it will be time for DS bath and bed time before prepping two lots of lunches for the week ahead!

B: natural yoghurt with banana and chopped walnuts, toast with hazelnut butter, tea
L: pasta with pesto and mozzarella, Broccoli. An apple.
S: coffee and a dark chocolate digestive
D: fishcakes, chips and beans (using up stuff as we're going away tomorrow)
Just about to have crackers, brie and chutney. Nd perhaps a small whisky :)

Yesterday was a mess. All good until we went out in the evening, smashed a few too many gins and fell in to a kebab shop.
I'm on annual leave today thank goodness.

Best of intentions, I will eat perfectly today!

1 slice of posh seedy bread with butter
Gnocchi with cheese sauce and veggie chorizo.

Yesterday was:

B - cinnamon porridge, apple juice, coffee.
L - leek & potato soup, 2 slices of bread
D - chicken fried rice with extra veg.

Snacks - Maryland cookies, raspberry Pepsi max and more coffee!

Today's menu looks like this:

B - cinnamon porridge, coffee, apple juice.
L - homemade vegetable soup with bread.
D - cheese and spinach tortellini with tomato sauce.

B - porridge and fruit
L - leftover frittata, rocket leaves
D - salmon, gnocchi, peas, carrots, mushroom creamy sauce.
Snacks - red wine, satsumas, chocolate

Today

B - small bowl nut museli and a slice of seeded toast with marmite
L - scrambled eggs, cherry tomatoes and a whole meal pitta
D - quorn chilli with rice and salad
Snacks- satsuma, naked bar, chocolate when dc are in bed Smile

Oats blueberries and yoghurt for breakfast then the joe wickes chicken parmigiana for lunch and pea and prawn risotto for dinner. Might let myself have a little bit of chocolate if it's good news at weigh in but I'm not too hopeful

Hi @Bloodybridget I like the sound of lemon and caper dressing. Made one from a BBC recipe last weekend, but it was bland so threw in extra lemon and some garlic. That fixed it.

Yesterday, muesli etc, then grilled salmon with green beans, lentils and rice salad, then a portion of fries with an alcohol-free beer. Chocolate whilst watching a film, then a small portion of tofu scramble, rice and beetroot salad, and a buttered roll. And a pear.

Today, muesli etc, grapes and a pear, tofu scramble and brown rice, fish stew for dinner, followed by a couple of oatcakes with peanut butter, walnuts and dried baby figs.
