I downloaded the app yesterday. Planning to start bright and early on Monday.

Wowserme · 02/01/2020 15:00

I did this a few years ago and the weight just fell off of me. I think my body went into shock and threw the excess weight off.
I dieted, stopped drinking and did this for 10 weeks and lost about 3 stone in 3 months.
I would wholeheartedly recommend doing this.

SmuggyMcKnobson · 02/01/2020 16:08

@Wowserme that's encouraging!
Did you keep up the running - if not did you maintain your weight?

I need to do this! I've started it before but life got in the way!

fragglerockette · 02/01/2020 16:16

I am starting Monday too

wallyrag · 02/01/2020 16:17

I'm in, have done it before but never get past week 3 (injury/illness/life)

MrTumblePulledAKnifeOnMe · 02/01/2020 16:19

Did it 4 years ago, took me a bit longer than most. Since had DC, put on 6 stone and now feel the time is right to have another go and lose the weight. Will be starting next Tuesday morning when DC is in nursery 😬

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 02/01/2020 16:26

Started W1 yesterday. I actually started it last year, got to week 5 then got a stress fracture in my foot and that was that. Was absolutely gutted as surprisingly I was enjoying it.

Hoping to finish this time 🤞🏻

DdJames · 02/01/2020 16:38

Good luck, I completed it last year and although I enjoyed it I didn't fall in love with running like I'd hoped I would. I've been slacking a bit the last couple of months but am slowly getting back into regular jogging.

I felt so good doing, I didn't lose any weight but was definitely more toned and got away with eating more then I should!

PlaymobilPirate · 02/01/2020 16:41

@Wowserme that's amazing! I'm.hoping my sports bra comes 2m so I can start! I'm actually itching to go tonight but i think these 34hh boobs need proper support!

I'm starting on Saturday. I've also been speaking to a neighbor and we are setting up a mums and kids running group once per week and I've joined another mums running group!

I did it a couple of years ago and did the full ten weeks and while I lost a stone it was the inch loss that was the most impressive.

IsolaPribby · 02/01/2020 16:44

Glad I found this thread, I am going to start on Monday! Never done running seriously before.

Can you repeat a week if you need to?

I will be having Sarah Millican urging me on! Grin

Goingtobeoldearly · 02/01/2020 16:45

Ooh yes, I need a thread to join! Hopefully stating on Sunday 🙂

Popsicales · 02/01/2020 16:51

My New Years resolution for 2019 was to run 5km without stopping and I actually did it, along with running some10k races using the C25k programme! Love running now and I’ve joined a local running club.

Join Run Mummy Run on Facebook if you’ve not already. It’s a lovely supportive group and it will definitely inspire you to keep going and trust in the C25k programme!

PlaymobilPirate · 02/01/2020 16:51

Those who have done it before.. can you listen to music etc atvthe same time? I have amazon music and plan to download some stuff??

OP posts:
DdJames · 02/01/2020 18:25

@PlaymobilPirate you can listen to music along side the app- the app will speak over whatever you are listening to.

I also had map my run going at the same time so sometimes had music going, the C25k coach talking and my distance/pace all being announced at the same time.

Afonavon · 02/01/2020 19:00

I hate running and feel like my body is not built for it. My throat burns and feel like each step is going to be my last. I just can’t get into the swing of it. It feels so uncomfortable. Will the app help me?

MiseryChops · 02/01/2020 19:19

I started via the couch to 5K and I’m so glad I stuck with it as 2 years on I’ve completed a few half marathons and soon to be doing a marathon.

I did c25k in July. Its fantastic! I never thought I would enjoy it so much.

Good luck to all those starting.

dementedma · 02/01/2020 19:56

I did it last year (55 and overweight) and managed my 5K in June although it took me 40+ minutes. I lost weight and got really toned up but I really don’t like running and never got the bug, or runner’s high so was glad to pack it in once the 5K was achieved - which was a bit of a waste.
I recommend it as it really does make a difference to your fitness and shape, but have decided I prefer swimming!

CormoranStrike · 02/01/2020 19:58

Me! Did my second run today.

Shannith · 02/01/2020 20:00

My neighbours are doing this and I feel like I should.

I'm walking fit and have no weight to lose (sorry) but I smoke. Will it kill me?

Keepmewarm · 02/01/2020 20:02

I’m starting again on Saturday. I’ve made it to week 4 a few times but don’t keep to it!

LiveRightNow · 02/01/2020 20:06

Really keen to give this a go. When I search the app a few come up though. Is there an "official one?" (Or one that people think is best!)

blckcurt · 02/01/2020 20:09

I did it a year ago and it's fantastic!!!! Massively seen a difference in my stamina/fitness levels
