How busy was your polling station?

I had to queue at the polling station this morning. That has never happened before. It was at about 07.45, it was raining and I'd have said it's a safe Tory seat where people might think their vote doesn't count.

Anybody else seeing signs of high/low turnout?

8.20am.

I was the only one there.

artisanparsnips · 12/12/2019 16:14

Busier than usual - not a queue but it's usually silent as the grave and today there was a real buzz in the air.

Sexnotgender · 12/12/2019 16:14

Was there around midday and was fairly quiet.

Jist been. There was nobody ahead if me but 4 people queueing right behind me.

It is hammering down here at the moment.

afterme · 12/12/2019 16:15

Quiet at 9.30am, two people leaving, one person arriving and me.

Iwantacookie · 12/12/2019 16:16

Quite busy when I went at 10am. I've been past the polling station a few times today and it seems like theres a constant stream of people.

7dayslater · 12/12/2019 16:22

Busiest I've ever seen it. Had to queue for 25 minutes, usually there's no queue at all.

babba2014 · 12/12/2019 16:23

Not many people at all

Rosere · 12/12/2019 16:24

It was mobbed. Absolutely delightful to witness.

Ellapaella · 12/12/2019 16:26

Busiest I've ever seen it!

DappledThings · 12/12/2019 16:28

This is very exciting. I've never seen a queue at a polling station of more than about 10 people and I've just seen the photo on the guardian of people queueing round the block in Putney.

UselessTrees · 12/12/2019 16:29

Just me (and the DC) there at 10.15ish, but it did look like quite a few had been ticked off their lists already so I guess lots of people called in on their way to work.

Glad I did it this morning and not now it's dark and pissing it down (our polling station is a portakabin on a not-well-lit playing field).

Kenworthington · 12/12/2019 16:30

When I went in mid afternoon I was the only person in there

MaddieElla · 12/12/2019 16:35

Only one in mine but at 4pm the box was full to bursting. Never seen that before and I have been last thing at night.

They probably empty/change boxes when they're full and I'm talking rubbish but just an observation.

Parky04 · 12/12/2019 16:40

At 7.05 there was a couple of us in there.

poseysbobblehat · 12/12/2019 16:40

Quiet - but it's the speaker's constituency and a lot aren't bothering

Originalyellowbelly · 12/12/2019 16:41

Car park was jammed and cars parked all down the street, not a solitary soul inside apart from the two ladies behind the desk, I wonder if everyone was hiding.

cjt110 · 12/12/2019 16:42

How do I know if my seat is safe or not? They were Tory, then Labour. There were only 915 votes between them last year

ScreamingValalalalahLalalalah · 12/12/2019 16:42

I was the only one there at 16:15. Someone was just coming in as I was leaving.

HorridHamble · 12/12/2019 16:47

Busiest I’ve seen it. Was there at 8.50am. Usually go earlier or in evening though.

birdsarecute45 · 12/12/2019 16:49

I went at 7.20. Just me, some cheerful officials and my neighbour with her schnauzer.

DH went at 2.15 and was greeted cheerful by election officials with 'Oh, your wife voted already this morning!'

Tried at 7.45 this morning and the queue was all the way down the road (unsafe labour seat, London). Just Voted and there were around 10 other people.

DowntonCrabby · 12/12/2019 16:51

DH and I went at 4, saw probably 10 people going in/in/coming out in the few minutes we were there. It seemed quiet but was already dark. Hopefully people have gone early to avoid a dark cold evening.

MileyWiley · 12/12/2019 16:51

Steady stream but no queuing at ours at 2.30. Safe labour area.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 12/12/2019 16:53

I went in at 0715 before heading to work. I was the only one there, though 1 or 2 people had already been in (according to the official at the desk).
