I know there are plenty of threads on voting intentions but it makes me wonder how many of those people actually end up voting. So to those who have and don’t mind sharing ..who did you vote for and why?

I haven’t actually voted yet but I will be doing so this evening after work.

There are many women on mumsnet who are spoiling their papers, not voting for Labour because of self ID when they would normally give them their vote. And I understand and respect why.

As a woman I've found it very hard to accept labour's stance on self ID. Although they've not gone as mad as Lib Dem's. Jo Swinson can get to fuck. I didn't know what to do and I did consider spoiling my paper in solidarity with women. But I also wanted to register my disgust at the tories. And hopefully my paper counts. If not like I said, sadly my vote makes no difference here. This is the third general election I've voted in, as well as the EU referendum. Sadly it never makes a difference. This seat has somehow become safe Tory despite being a very working class town. I find it so depressing.

And @Pumperthepumper thankyou 💐 long day here too!

RoseHippy1 · 12/12/2019 18:50

Where I live we have a Labour Govt. Our GP surgeries and hospitals are dire!

No, you have a Tory government. You have a Labour council operating under austerity in force by said Tory government.

Cheeseboardcriminal · 12/12/2019 18:50

Labour

TheDevilsPedicure · 12/12/2019 18:51

@OrangeTwirl because Boris is a lying amoral scumbag who will happily sell the nhs to America. Because he has always had the luxury of being able to pay private for healthcare, education. Why would he understand the importance of good healthcare for all, food education for everyone? Never mind understand, he certainly doesn't give a shit.

I remember the previous labour government. Life was better.

luckygreeneyes · 12/12/2019 18:52

SNP through gritted teeth

Labour shites are responsible for where money is spent in my area. We have free prescriptions. It would be great if we could get a GP apt!

I cannot wait to get rid of the blithering Labour idiots!

Fingers crossed for tomorrow that the Labour lunatics are herded back into the asylum🤞🏼

God help us all - particularly those who work for a living - if Labour take the majority🤦‍♀️

nespressowoo · 12/12/2019 19:14

Instead of listening to propaganda you would be better off doing your own research. Hope If Labour get in you get your land of milk and honey - but I very much doubt it! 🙄

ItIsWhatItIsInnit · 12/12/2019 19:16

Good luck getting equal treatment for women and girls on the NHS, mental health services and in education once the legal definition of 'female' is no longer in existence

You are being ridiculous. RIGHT NOW ambulances have to queue outside A&E with dying people because A&E is overrun, and people are self-harming every week yet have no access to counselling. This has nothing to do with women's rights or GRA. People are literally dying because public services are so bad.

I don't give a shit about "equal treatment" given the state we are in, right now any treatment would be nice. Without an 4 month waiting list.

Thescrewinthetuna · 12/12/2019 19:18

Labour. Our seat has been labour for a long time now anyway. I don’t like any of the parties tbh, they’re all horrendous in many way. To me Labour is the least horrendous. Best of a very crap bunch.

cece · 12/12/2019 19:20

Green

Lilmissmissy · 12/12/2019 19:20

Conservative- polling station was empty voted 15 mins ago

Devonishome1 · 12/12/2019 19:21

Conservative

DragonMamma · 12/12/2019 19:22

I voted when they opened this morning and there was around a dozen people there. I voted Labour and DH voted PC. It’s a Labour safe seat though.

TheDevilsPedicure · 12/12/2019 19:24

@OrangeTwirl it's nothing to do with a land of milk and honey, it's wanting a decent education for my children, all children, a decent health service for everyone, one where elderly people like my 90 year old grandfather aren't kicked out of hospital repeatedly over a week when they are too ill to go home, waiting 8 or more hours for ambulances multiple times throughout a week (happened this week btw). A&Es they don't resemble war zones.

It's a sad standard where people who are disgusted to see people homeless, struggling and using foodbanks are wanting a land of milk and honey apparently Hmm

pastaparadise · 12/12/2019 19:25

Lib Dem - marginal and hoping to get rid of useless tory mp. i would like to vote green ideally, but no candidate as presumeably stepped aside this time

Nikki360 · 12/12/2019 19:31

SNP because they under them my eldest daughter went to university free of charge, my middle child attends college free, my youngest child received free school lunches for three full years, we don't have to pay for any prescriptions, free bus travel for all over 60s, baby box for every baby born in Scotland, banned fracking. There is more but they really are the best for Scotland.

JimmyGrimble · 12/12/2019 19:34

Labour. Anything else is unthinkable.

goingtoneedabiggercar · 12/12/2019 19:36

SNP here, was torn between them and labour but SNP have a better chance of taking the seat.

Japanesejazz · 12/12/2019 19:48

Lib dem
Daughter voted green
We are in a very safe Tory seat, sadly

maddiemookins16mum · 12/12/2019 19:49

Labour, for the first time ever and I’m 55.
I really hope I don’t regret it if they win.

OrangeTwirl · 12/12/2019 19:50

TheDevilsPedicure

Good Luck with that. I'm sure your saviour will come up trumps (Not!)

TheDevilsPedicure · 12/12/2019 19:57

@OrangeTwirl it really says something that you don't seem to agree it's appalling how things currently are. Whatever you think of Corbyn and Labour how anyone could think how things have become are acceptable is mind boggling. Food banks, schools begging for handouts because they're so badly funded, NHS on its knees.

And FFS saviour? Grow up. I just want thinks to stop being so fucking hideous for ordinary people. For disabled people, children, anyone who is vulnerable. You know, like anyone with a conscience would.

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 12/12/2019 20:01

Labour - although in a fairly safe-ish Tory seat, so my vote won't count for much.

I hate my MP too - an ERG nutjob on the far right of the party and he never responds to any of my emails. He's a terrible constituency MP. Wish we could scrap FPTP and get a fairer system in place so I could have a chance of being represented by someone who actually gives a fuck about their constituents.

riotlady · 12/12/2019 20:11

Labour. I’m in a v safe Labour seat- new candidate this year though, our old MP has retired after holding the seat for 30 odd years.
