I know there are plenty of threads on voting intentions but it makes me wonder how many of those people actually end up voting. So to those who have and don’t mind sharing ..who did you vote for and why?

I haven’t actually voted yet but I will be doing so this evening after work.

Yeah yeah when women stand up for their rights and refuse to participate in a system that pretends they don't exist they're 'sensationalist'; those rights being destroyed don't 'impact anyone's lives'. Where have i heard that old chestnut before? Hmm

ArnoldJRimmer · 12/12/2019 17:41

SNP 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Helmlover1 · 12/12/2019 17:41

Just voted Labour Smile

Labour and as pp said our polling station appeared fairly busy compared to normal.

tabulahrasa · 12/12/2019 17:47

“when women stand up for their rights and refuse to participate in a system that pretends they don't exist”

I’m never going to not vote or spoil my ballot tbh, low turnout affects who gets in - look at the difference in eu elections over general elections.

So I pick by what is most important at that time, so yes, women’s rights was less important to me than other things at this time.

TheDevilsPedicure · 12/12/2019 17:49

I voted labour.

I get the self ID stuff, I really do. But foodbanks, the dire state of the NHS, school funding, brexit, are more important at the moment. They really are. I can't bear how so many people in this country are suffering under this appalling government. I can't bear the thought of another 5 years of Tory scum. I will never ever in my life vote for them, what they have done is unforgivable.

I'm early 30s and can't believe how much worse this country has become since I was a child/teenager. I remember that things were so much better. How is it possible to go backwards in the 21st century.

I want labour in but I'm going to be desperately disappointed tomorrow I fear. My thoughts were get the evil scum out and then women start a proper fight for our rights .

I'm just so sad that this is how things are.

strawberryblondebint · 12/12/2019 17:50

SNP.

TheDevilsPedicure · 12/12/2019 17:50

I voted labour but I also wrote on the ballot paper 'but please protect women's rights'

I hope that doesn't mean my paper was spoilt but in any case probably safe scum seat here.

Confused202020 · 12/12/2019 17:51

Labour, first time I've ever voted I'm ashamed to say.

Whyjustwhy23 · 12/12/2019 17:55

Haven’t yet but it’s going to be Tory. I have no choice.

My BREXIT party candidate wants to regenerate us by hosting a German Market Confused my LibDem has a single policy on making sure Transphobia is stopped in schools, my Labour Guy is lovely but has been in charge for ever and the town has gone down and down, and is now underwater, my other independent just thinks rubbish caused the flooding and doesn’t have any policies and prattles on about political leaflets meaning the town is underwater... , my other Independent has fixed BREXIT by saying he (all alone) will force Ireland to leave the EU too, no Irish border no problem! The English Democrats basically want to concentration camp my mixed heritage kids...

So Tory, a Tory who lives about 150 miles out of the area is the only one with solid sensible policies.

FML.

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 12/12/2019 17:55

@TheDevilsPedicure I'm pretty sure that would be classed as spoiled. Also, who would you expect to see it?

PenguindreamsofDraco · 12/12/2019 17:55

Tory. Impregnable labour seat here alas.

RuffleCrow · 12/12/2019 17:57

Only spoiled ballots are shown to candidates in marginal seats.

Women are 50 percent of the fucking population!

An NHS that doesn't know the difference between men and women isn't one worth having. The deaths through medical negligence alone will be unbelievable.

Ditto the education system. If teachers can no longer teach even the difference between men and women I'll take my chances with sending the dcs to the local library every day to learn instead.

OrangeTwirl · 12/12/2019 18:00

Conservative. It was a tough choice. I was going to spoil my paper but after another look through the manifestos this afternoon it had to be Tory for me. I'm not sorry 😊

formerbabe · 12/12/2019 18:00

I spoilt my ballot paper

Hate them all

TheDevilsPedicure · 12/12/2019 18:03

It was clearly crossed for labour though, just with 'but please protect women's rights'.

And tbh I don't give a fuck who does see it, even if it makes the person counting the papers think about what it means I suppose that's something.

As I said it's a safe Tory seat here anyway.

timeforawine · 12/12/2019 18:03

Conservatives for me and my husband

tabulahrasa · 12/12/2019 18:06

“An NHS that doesn't know the difference between men and women isn't one worth having.”

Except you can’t change that if it no longer exists...

“I'll take my chances with sending the dcs to the local library every day to learn instead.”

Because presumably you’ll still be able to afford to feed them while taking the time to do that.

flopsytheflatcat · 12/12/2019 18:06

Labour and was very proud to do so.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 12/12/2019 18:08

Not voted yet. Will be voting Labour.Got to at least do my bit to be that 🤡 out
Plus,My Nan would haunt me if I voted anyone else. She was scary enough when she was here. God knows what she’d be like as an angry 👻. 🤣

Pumperthepumper · 12/12/2019 18:09

It was clearly crossed for labour though, just with 'but please protect women's rights'

I just can’t understand why you would do this?

TheDevilsPedicure · 12/12/2019 18:15

Because I'm genuinely concerned about women's rights but want the tories out.

FWIW I don't understand how anyone can vote Tory and not feel ashamed but there we go.

OrangeTwirl · 12/12/2019 18:17

It was clearly crossed for labour though, just with 'but please protect women's rights

If you have marked your ballot paper with anything other than an X it will be a spoilt paper. Never mind it was only for labour anyway. It's no great loss

Sherrybabyy · 12/12/2019 18:18

Conservative

TheDevilsPedicure · 12/12/2019 18:20

I've googled and doesn't seem it would count as spoilt. It was clear I voted for labour and what I wrote does not make me identifiable in any way or suggest I was voting for anyone else
