I know there are plenty of threads on voting intentions but it makes me wonder how many of those people actually end up voting. So to those who have and don’t mind sharing ..who did you vote for and why?

I haven’t actually voted yet but I will be doing so this evening after work.

“I'm amazed at the number of women (presumably) who are happily voting for parties who claim not to know what a woman is.”

It’s not as high on my priorities as other things tbh.

In a different election, if the country was in a different state than it is - I might well have prioritised women’s rights, but not just now.

Tutlefru · 12/12/2019 17:12

Labour

edgewater · 12/12/2019 17:12

Hugh Grant.

This for me too.

ginghambox · 12/12/2019 17:13

Conservative.

RuffleCrow · 12/12/2019 17:18

I find that astonishing @tabulahrasa. Which things do you find more important than the hard won legal protections of over fifty percent of the UK population? Not to mention the abolition of the very language we use to describe our existence and our experiences?

BooksForChristmas · 12/12/2019 17:18

I'm sat here in my 'woman' definition tshirt.

I carry Standing For Women stickers with me everywhere.

I voted Labour.

It's one drop in a sea of issues and I prioritise the NHS, the rights of the disabled and mental health services over that. Even though its a huge issue it can be tackled at a later date.

My main aim right now is to get rid of the tories

Teenytinyratsass · 12/12/2019 17:20

Labour (Tactically) in an extremely safe Tory seat..

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/12/2019 17:20

@wellthatwasthat you may or may not be joking, but I didn't even realise the Monster Raving Loony Party were still going

The fact that they are cheers me up for some reason I can't begin to explain Blush

Nat6999 · 12/12/2019 17:21

Labour, in a Labour safe seat with a lovely hardworking MP.

RuffleCrow · 12/12/2019 17:24

Wow, if this was happening to men, they wouldn'y consider themselves, as fifty percent of the population as 'one drop in a sea of issues'! Who will be 'tackling this at a later date' if you've voted in the very people most determined to destroy our rights and freedoms i wonder ? Elves perhaps?! @booksforchristmas

BlackSwanGreen · 12/12/2019 17:24

Labour

tabulahrasa · 12/12/2019 17:25

“Which things do you find more important than the hard won legal protections of over fifty percent of the UK population?”

A welfare system that means the most vulnerable in society and people with disabilities are struggling to survive.

The NHS.

Mental health services.

I’d love to find a political party that prioritises everything I believe in in a way I’m happy about, but until then I vote with what issue I think are most important at the time.

Somebodystired · 12/12/2019 17:26

Spoilt the ballot in a safe Conservative seat.

Each of the major parties has important policies which I fundamentally disagree with, but i couldn't bring myself to not vote. I'm under no illusion that this will "send the parties a message" but I feel better knowing that rather than being a non-voting statistic, I'll be a statistic of someone who could be bothered to get up and go bit still had no one that I could in good conscience vote for.

ItIsWhatItIsInnit · 12/12/2019 17:26

@RuffleCrow, I just don't care, sorry. I care more about NHS, mental health, the state of teaching, the cost of living.

AlexaShutUp · 12/12/2019 17:28

Labour. Tactical move to try and oust the Tories.

I thought DH was going to vote Green, but in the end, he went tactically for Labour as well.

I wish we had PR in this country so that all votes actually counted.

Two labour votes in this house 🌹

RuffleCrow · 12/12/2019 17:33

Good luck getting equal treatment for women and girls on the NHS, mental health services and in education once the legal definition of 'female' is no longer in existence @itiswhatitisinnit Hmm

AlexaShutUp · 12/12/2019 17:35

I'm gender critical and I'm concerned about the erosion of women's rights, but there are other priorities that are equally important to me. As I don't see any of the parties standing up for women's rights in any real way, my voting intentions are guided by those other priorities.

goodluckdontdie · 12/12/2019 17:36

RuffleCrow you're being a sensationalist. Most people don't prioritise this GRA stuff because it's not going to have any major or immediate impact on their lives.

Peanutbutteryogurt · 12/12/2019 17:39

Lib dem. Would've been labour but lib Dems are the only ones with a chance against Tories in this seat so it was a tactical vote
