Why do people automatically assume any anti-Tory is a Labour supporter?

Helpel · 09/12/2019 16:02

I will be voting for them (or not because I hate Corbyn and love Boris, they are both obnoxious in different ways. I will vote for conservative because of Labours connection to the unions. I work for a heavily unionised company and they RUIN business with their ridiculous demands, inflated egos and fake claims to be socialist. And labour massively support the unions and everything that goes with them. The Company I work for won't operate in the UK after 2030, having previously employed 50,000 plus. This is because our employees are so vastly overpaid due to Union unrealistic demands, that the work can be done cheaper elsewhere. And I am not talking about slave labour, I am just talking about less than £16 an hour for unskilled work. Labour/unions are living an old fashioned pipe dream. The NHS is the same - lots of friends working there or have worked there who all say the inefficiencies are immense. This is not to do with the current government in power, it is due to the unionised nature of the business. If it is not controlled it wont matter how much money is pumped in and if labour get in the unions will have more power and the management less control. Just my two penneth!

derxa · 09/12/2019 16:10

There are arguments against and for all of them. I will be voting LD because:

  • JS wants to stop Brexit
  • JS is not a misogynist or a racist
  • I don't want Scottish independence
  • Jeremy Corbyn believes in everything I don't
  • Boris Johnson is not trustworthy
Theworldisfullofgs · 09/12/2019 16:33

highlea as your post makes little sense, you probably would have benefitted from more education.
According to the IFS the labour manifesto is as well costed, if not more do that the incredible meagre conservative manifesto. I'm not actually sure how the Tories intended to compensate for the hit from their brexit deal, which every sane economist agrees is the likely outcome. That is not costed in their manifesto.

The manifesto that makes the best economic sense is actually the libdems, according to the IFS.

highlea3 · 09/12/2019 17:05

Dear theworldofbull

oh bless you, you poor thing did no one tell you about santa being make believe, how sad, now i totally understand why your away with the fairys and the libdems.

highlea3 · 09/12/2019 17:20

dear theworldofbull
yes my education would of been much better but it was a labour era in my school days.

ilovetinsel · 09/12/2019 18:10

They literally do not give a toss 😥

Hey Tory Voters
OP posts:
highlea3 · 09/12/2019 19:09

none of them do that is the sad thing
all we can do is hope once brexit(election)has happened things will be more focused on every day life of those that need it, and the picture above has proved it.
WHY WHY WHY this should never be happening whoever we vote for whoever gets in to power this has to stop.

ilovetinsel · 09/12/2019 19:11

Some of them do.

OP posts:
ilovetinsel · 09/12/2019 19:13

Please please if you are at all undecided, speak to someone who works for the NHS or the emergency services before you decide how to vote & ask them how Tory policy has affected their roles.

OP posts:
highlea3 · 09/12/2019 19:17

then why this little boy laying on the floor
how would you feel if it was your little boy or girl ?
unless it was by choice of parents and picture posted to shame, who knows in these days with the election coming up.

ilovetinsel · 09/12/2019 19:22

Oh FFS this government should feel ASHAMED! THe have the NHS, the fire services, the police on their knees.

What is actually so hard to understand?!?! 🙈🙈🙈

OP posts:
Snowjive2 · 09/12/2019 19:25

If that was my very sick little boy lying on the floor, I would want the failing government which had been in power for 9 years and allowed that to happen OUT. I wouldn’t spend a moment entertaining Johnson’s incoherent ramblings about what the very same government might do in future.

thehorseandhisboy · 09/12/2019 19:25

Yes, it's heartbreaking. How Johnson has grown in popularity is absolutely beyond me.

highlea3 · 09/12/2019 19:26

my son in law works for nhs and in my eyes they are great work hard and give great care i was in hospital this year and they was amazing and work very hard thats why i said about picture as it does not happen in our local hospital but can not comment on other hospitals and what people will post before an election is mind boggling i just hope this was by parents choice as some will go to great lengths to shame and get to the media, i think we are very lucky to have a great nhs and admire them for the long hours of work and loving care they give thanks to the conservatives for this nhs we have .

Snowjive2 · 09/12/2019 19:32

highlea you are insinuating that the photo of the little boy isn’t real. Unfortunately it is, and was brought to the public’s attention by his shocked mother www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/amp/uk-england-leeds-50713236

highlea3 · 09/12/2019 19:51

snowjive2
evening do you 100% know that it is true if it is true then it is totally terrible that should not be happening, if you have just read the media then who knows the truth , we can only go by our own knowledge of the nhs and in my eyes they do there best in every way. again thankyou to the conservatives and nhs staff you have been great
with my stay in hospital and long may it last helping others.

highlea3 · 09/12/2019 20:10

no answer snowjive?

Sittinonthefloor · 09/12/2019 20:16

I don’t like Johnson & I’m a remainer - but I think Corbyn is far, far worse so I’ll be voting Tory with gritted teeth. The idea of a bunch of not very bright, anti-Semitic, misogynistic, Marxists left over from the 70s being in charge is chilling. Socialism doesn’t work.

MustardScreams · 09/12/2019 20:18

@Sittinonthefloor another one regurgitating headlines thinking they’re ‘making a point’.

Can we PLEASE have accredited sources for these wild claims? Tories seem allergic to actually basing their arguments upon any facts.

Sittinonthefloor · 09/12/2019 20:32

🤣🤣 mustard, just because I disagree with you doesn’t mean I’m ‘regurgitating headlines’. I could just as easily say you are regurgitating labour soundbites.

You started a post asking why people vote Tory and I’ve explained my reasons. You’re trying to make a point yourself in your opening post - are you the only person allowed to make points?

I think it’s this lack of realising that other people may look at things differently, may have their own thoughts, that has lead to the particularly nasty level of aggression against people who aren’t going to vote the way that people want them to.

Evidence: not very bright - bad alevels suggests he isn’t massively academic, has spent entire life on back benches, has not adapted his ideas with changing times, has ludicrous ideas re nationalisation, doesn’t seem to grasp basic economics or human nature.
Anti Semitic- I think we’ve seen ample evidence
Misogynistic- no focus on women, never had a woman leader, quite happy to give women’s single sex spaces / shortlists to men who feel like women.
Marxist - John McDonnell is a Marxist

HTH

Snowjive2 · 09/12/2019 20:33

highlea Forgive me, I’m struggling to make sense of your last post. You had good service from the NHS - great, I’m delighted, so have I, many times.

The NHS is nonetheless on its knees due to Tory mismanagement - I saw that too. One of my sons was in hospital on average once a month for a number of years when he was younger. More to the point, doctors, nurses and other health care professionals who know the state of the NHS because they work in it, day in day out, are begging us to get this failing government out. we must listen to them - or your next experience of the NHS will be very different.

MustardScreams · 09/12/2019 20:43

@Sittinonthefloor there hasn’t been any aggression? I merely asked you to provide accredited sources, which obviously you are unable. Stop trying to rewrite what I said in a completely different light.

Of course I don’t agree with you. The whole basis of debate is to question what has been posted and talk about it.

I haven’t written any sound bites, my information comes from very easily accessible sources such as HMRC, the gov website and fact checking websites. It’s all out there to be found.

I also didn’t start the thread. HTH.

Sittinonthefloor · 09/12/2019 20:47

@TimesCorbyn on Twitter has a detailed record of all the times Corbyn has been mentioned in the past - worth a look mobile.twitter.com/TimesCorbyn

Sittinonthefloor · 09/12/2019 20:52

Mustard, sorry, I thought you were the op! How much evidence do you want re labours antisemetism etc - I CBA to post a load of links as ‘evidence’; it’s all been widely discussed and in depth.
