I hope it’s not true with everything that’s going on with Prince Andrew. Anyone else heard this?

I never really thought I had any strong views on the Queen, but I felt really quite upset at the thought of her death. Glad it has t happened yet.

Given the prime minister would be one of the first to know of the queens death and knowing who he is and how many mumsnetters feel about him, I am amazed to find he is a bigamist and that so many of his wives were happy to contribute to this thread.

Considering the funeral would be at least a week after the death , it is slightly worrying that members of the armed forces would need so much notice to find a pair of socks

Not really. The death of someone like her, of world - wide importance , would not be something to speculate about or to ask for opinions about on mn. It would be major news on all media, all over the world within minutes. Nobody would have to speculate !

No different from any other member of the RF. State funeral, RF wearing mourning clothes, lots of documentaries about him on TV. His death won't affect the succession or any other aspect of the monarchy.

Not this again ... I actually thought it was a hoax when I heard Princess Diana had died but unfortunately it wasn't.

I think the BBC will make the announcement if the Queen dies they have been practicing what to do for years and have even have a dress code for the news reader to wear.
