I hope it’s not true with everything that’s going on with Prince Andrew. Anyone else heard this?

The presenter on BBC News is wearing a pink shirt!

A secret republican, obviously. Grin

adaline · 02/12/2019 16:19

All the news presenters on all channels are in black, even ones that dont normally wear black

That's probably to do with the London Bridge attack. The chap on BBC breakfast this morning had a bright red tie on and Nicola Sturgeon was in purple!

When we went on a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament last year we were given great details on the Queen Funeral and the subsequent Coronation and the guide said they now do basic rehearsal monthly and full scale 6 monthly.

The Royals are not stupid - they know it is coming - almost certainly in the next few years.

All the obituaries and key wording have been written by media etc and just being updated weekly so everything is ready. All the arrangements are made and ready to be enacted - just reviewed weekly and tweaked where needed.

I do think the London Bridge thing could have sparked this rumors as this is the code. I used to work in Emergency Planning and a fair few years ago we got warned that in the neighbouring borough there was a threat that El Qaeda were planning an attack and the subsequent traffic jams near the hospital in our Town were going to cause a problem - it was actually the opening of a new IKEA which was seen as a potential for traffic problems - Chinese whispers at its best.

I reckon when it happens we will know almost straight away.
I've worked for organisations where I've had access to significant newsworthy information before the general public knew. This was before social media got such a strong grip.
I think news like this would be much harder to control these days, even with the threat of a security investigation for leaks etc.

GrimDamnFanjo · 02/12/2019 16:29

Meant to add- a holding statement will already be written and ready to go to stop speculation.

Sssneks · 02/12/2019 16:30

According to the daily mail, she was photographed today leaving Windsor Castle.

Or was that just a decoy body double?

wheresmymojo · 02/12/2019 16:43

It will be interesting to see what happens with the monarchy once Prince Charles becomes King as most of the older generation I know who are very pro-Monarchy dislike Charles.

Will it make their heads explode?

AnneTwackie · 02/12/2019 17:18

@AdobeWanKenobi Meh. Just saying where I heard it. I’ve apologised if it upset you but maybe lighten up, or charge me with treason, your call.

Do you not get you are part of the problem? Fair enough you were curious and started this thread. Thats understandable, but you then went on to add ridiculous hearsay that was 100% bullshit.

If everyone used just a little bit of their brains in this instead of 'my mates mums sisters uncle says' then this crap wouldn't spread and this meme sums it up.

Has anyone else heard that the queen has died?
SoupDragon · 02/12/2019 17:28

that is a ridiculous meme.

AdobeWanKenobi · 02/12/2019 17:32

Yet so very true.

iklboodolphrednosedreindeer · 02/12/2019 17:35

The full stop at the end of the first sentence is unnecessary.

TwatCat · 02/12/2019 17:38

@iklboodolphrednosedreindeer agreed, although I'm quite impressed, there were 4 opportunities to use the wrong "your" and and they got them all right.

TwatCat · 02/12/2019 17:39

@iklboodolphrednosedreindeer and then I screw my post up by using "and" twice ffs BlushHmm

AdobeWanKenobi · 02/12/2019 17:40

The sentiment is there if the grammar is not. Though 'Stop perpetuating bullshit" does the same job with fewer words.

TwatCat · 02/12/2019 17:42

Op was just wondering if what she'd heard was correct, we all speculate sometimes surely!?

ThePolishWombat · 02/12/2019 17:58

DH is part of regiment that will have quite a significant role in the funeral proceedings when her majesty does indeed kick the bucket.....and he’s had a very very normal day at work today and actually arrived home a little earlier than usual. If the queen had died, it would have been all systems go this morning, and his ceremonial uniform would have been out and being polished to within an inch of its life....and yet it’s still in the wardrobe!
So rest assured, she’s most likely sitting down to have her dinner right now!

iklboodolphrednosedreindeer · 02/12/2019 18:21

So rest assured, she’s most likely sitting down to have her dinner right now!

She's either having egg & chips or a ham & cheese toastie with some Heinz tomato soup, I reckon.

JohnLewisIain · 02/12/2019 18:28

Surely a nice chop and over boiled sprouts?

iklboodolphrednosedreindeer · 02/12/2019 18:29

That's Wednesday's tea. It's tater ash tomorrow.

Genvonklinkerhoffen · 02/12/2019 19:18

I'm embarrassed at almost all of the "my DH is high up in xyz and would know" folk.

In my last job I worked in a HQ that was responsible for a small part of Royal Funerals, in that job, if you were on duty, you would have been informed so you could set the wheels in motion, calling people back from leave etc. This should never be done by WhatsApp, its wholly insecure; anyone held at "readiness" will get a phone check before they go on leave so that the call back procedure can be initiated. These soldiers are allowed "away" in accordance with their readiness profile so if you're 24hrs notice, you can go 24hrs away.

Now I'm just as senior as I was in my last job and I would get told absolutely fuck all.

There is always a laundry facility somehow, usually contracted. We put our socks and pants in a string bag with our number on and it gets boil washed and tumble dried so hard that everything disintegrates within 6 weeks.

Gibbo will definitely feel the consequences of this somehow!!

MarshaBradyo · 02/12/2019 19:20

Tg she’s alive I don’t want to read it here on a I heard thread ;

retiredand · 02/12/2019 19:21

Can't believe PPs think the person tasked with organising her funeral would be told before her husband or Prince Charles.

This thread is hilarious 😂

egontoste · 02/12/2019 19:22

Confused Hmm
