I hope it’s not true with everything that’s going on with Prince Andrew. Anyone else heard this?

@louise5754 yep my DH is an NCO - I see no reason he would need to be informed before the announcement, what possible reason could there be for telling every single squaddie, airman and sailor first? Some of them would be involved in a state funeral but not everyone and even those that will be wouldn't gain anything from knowing a few hours early.

HoppingPavlova · 02/12/2019 10:33

THE QUEEN is alive and preparing to host Donald Trump at Buckingham Palace dispelling a distasteful hoax

If I had to host Trump I’d seriously consider saying I was dead to get out of itGrin.

notnowmaybelater · 02/12/2019 10:36

HoppingPavlova exactly -the queen hosting Donald Trump sounds like a distasteful hoax in itself!

I heard it last night but assumed it was fake.

AdobeWanKenobi · 02/12/2019 10:49

@AnneTwackie
@AravisQueenOfArchenland
@Peppermint5555

Three posters with friends in the military who confirmed last nights bullshit.
Three posters whom if they tell you the sky is blue you should probably pop your head outside the door and check for yourselves.

Hoaxes will always happen. But the people who feel the need to perpetuate them with 'Well I heard from a friend" are actually just as bad as the people who start them.

Doubleraspberry · 02/12/2019 10:49

The Duchess of Norfolk used to work for Colefax and Fowler so probably spends most of her time on Property and DIY advising on paint shades.

unicornsandmermaids · 02/12/2019 10:51

Can I just say that not everybody who signs the official secrets act is important . I've signed it and I work part time in a primary school Grin

Doubleraspberry · 02/12/2019 10:54

People sign the OSA based on the information they access. Just coming into contact with ceremonial and procedural bumpf doesn’t merit the signing of it.

rhubarbcrumbles · 02/12/2019 10:57

I've signed it and I work part time in a primary school grin

Presumably you didn't sign it because of your school job? I've signed it and I'm unemployed so I'm so unimportant that I don't even register on the importance scale.

SoupDragon · 02/12/2019 11:14

If I had to host Trump I’d seriously consider saying I was dead to get out of it

How do you think the rumour started.....?😂

TheQueef · 02/12/2019 11:15

See.
Nobody listens to me.
I told you she was fine, more than fine actually, she won the meat raffle.

PotteryWheel · 02/12/2019 11:28

Well, it's probably a sign we should scrutinise the photos of the Trump reception for slight differences in the queen's appearance that would indicate her substitution by a body double.

StealthPolarBear · 02/12/2019 11:32

She drew the short straw and gets to be polite to trump. Spotting image could have a field day.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 02/12/2019 12:45

Maybe she's faking it so she doesn't have to entertain Donald trump again
I said that upthread @HRH2020, I think we're onto something. Makes sense, and everyone would understand when she appears the next day saying "one was only messing"

Frankly Squidgean, I think most of us would help her keep up the pretence but lending her our own hats and such if she had to open a supermarket, so she could maintain her disguise.

She could pretend she was her own evil twin who had been kept in a corgi-kennel until now, and could cope with minor events, but was too feral to be trusted to host a state dinner with a man who looked as though he had been rolled in the dust of a billion crushed Cheetos.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 02/12/2019 12:46

AGAIN!!!

AnneTwackie · 02/12/2019 12:57

@AdobeWanKenobi Not sure my original post of
anyone else heard that the queen has died? Hope it’s not true.. is me confirming it as fact and didn’t really see the harm in asking if anyone knew if there’s any truth in it. I’m sorry if it upset you in some way.

I think Phil's actually a scouser and someone overheard him telling Charles she was 'looking dead nice this morning'

BiBiBirdie · 02/12/2019 13:07

Yes
I've seen WhatsApp messages being shared that apparently were sent to service personnel telling them to prepare certain numbered items of dress uniform. It will apparently be announced tomorrow and she allegedly had a heart attack at 6.30am.
No idea if true or not.

GoofyIsACow · 02/12/2019 13:07

This is genuinely one of the funniest threads I have read in ages... ironic really!

Whattheother2catsprefer · 02/12/2019 13:10

To the PP who thought stamps and money would need changing ASAP don't worry I can remember king's head coins knocking about in the 80s. Not only were we 30+ years into Elizabeth's reign but decimalisation had happened over a decade before. The stuff in circulation will remain legal tender.

SoupDragon · 02/12/2019 13:12

No idea if true or not.

🤦🏻‍♀️

Celebelly · 02/12/2019 13:12

Pissing myself at this thread and people saying it's now going to be announced tomorrow when they just haven't realised the whole thing was yesterday Grin

ememem84 · 02/12/2019 13:14

@x2boys true. Dm is only 65.

AnneTwackie · 02/12/2019 13:14

@Celebelly WIBU to just post the OP every day until it’s true like the vile, evil troll I am?

" To the person who said their DH knows there are "arrangements"
"Well yes, there are permanent arrangements in place for the death of all senior Royals
"This is on MN every December I swear to God. The first time round I was convinced, now not so much"

Never noticed it was every December. Maybe every December, they do a TEWT - type run through to see if the plan is still fit for purpose?

(TEWT = Tactical Exercise Witout Troops, which essentially means checking things or war gaming at desk level, without actually deploying anyone in RL. Rumour has it that the Yanks like to call them Practical Exercises Not Involving Soldiers, which would explain the clock emblem)
