Unplanned - Abortion Film **Trigger Warning** Title edited by MNHQ sensitive content*

Hi,
Last night I watched a film called Unplanned, which is based on a true story of a lady working within an abortion clinic called ‘Planned Parenthood’. The film itself brought me to tears on many occasions and it’s made me feel very uncomfortable surrounding abortion. I had an unplanned pregnancy with my third child but knew abortion wasn’t an option for me. I am quite shocked by the amount of abortions that still take place within our society. Does anyone else feel this way? I know we all have different views but i just wondered what other people’s thoughts were on this very sensitive topic.

I'm still waiting for OP to comment on the fact that the story this whole thing is based on has a rather suspicious timeline and conflicting information from the woman herself.

Iloveelephants2 · 22/09/2019 08:55

Mainstream culture wants us all to keep believing abortion is okay and not really killing babies. People here will get upset at the idea that we are killing generations of people. My post will probably disappear. It’s how mainstream thinking works. We are not allowed to upset the apple cart. Good movie OP and yes there are lots of people (like the Guardian) saying it’s a terrible movie when it’s just showing the truth.

BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 08:57

The OP is a stealth “what, little old me?” forced birth advocate. They are the worst, most despicable people, and should not be engaged with.

BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 08:58

“My post will probably disappear. It’s how mainstream thinking works”

Why on earth should it? Stop pretending to be a persecuted minority - it’s not a good look.

Iloveelephants2 · 22/09/2019 09:00

Take a hike @BertrandRussell everyone’s allowed an opinion.

Iloveelephants2 · 22/09/2019 09:04

Oh and wait till the penny finally drops that millions of people (babies) have been killed by the introduction of abortion, just like we have seen millions of people killed in wars. People will begin to see that fact - it’s just a matter of time.

BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 09:07

“Take a hike @BertrandRussell everyone’s allowed an opinion.“

Yes. As I said.

JacquesHammer · 22/09/2019 09:09

Mainstream culture wants us all to keep believing abortion is okay

That’s because it is

and not really killing babies

Foetus. But you know what? I still support abortion fully even if it is “killing babies”.

Not your uterus, not your choice.

InsertFunnyUsername · 22/09/2019 09:09

"Millions of babies" were killed before the introduction of abortion, Or are we going to pretend back street abortions didn't exist and before abortion was made legal, Women just happily continued with unwanted pregnancies?

Cordial11 · 22/09/2019 09:09

Agree with abortion 100 % and think it’s personal choice. I wouldn’t have one unless extreme circumstances but glad others can choose. However, I don’t think they should be free - I know people who have had multiple, talking three plus!!! One woman once told me shes had SIX!!! This is just reckless. Plus none of these woman were on the breadline and I believe, should be made to pay the bill if they are not taking the option of free contraception.

Mum2386

You sprout all your views on this thread but I’m the one who sounds like a judgemental bitch. Looks like both of our kids will feel proud seen as we’re both judgemental. It’s no assumption really is it? You clearly don’t support women, your own children being included or thats just being hypocritical that you’d have nothing to say if they chose abortion. End of discussion with you now as you’re just backtracking really.

SnuggyBuggy · 22/09/2019 09:12

I don't think society would know what to do with the millions if they were all born. We do a bad enough job with the unwanted children we do have.

Iloveelephants2 · 22/09/2019 09:22

@JacquesHammer until you see that it really isn’t ok. It’s only a matter of time then you and others will wonder how you were misled. We are misled on lots of things but I get it for you abortions are normal. It will change and you won’t be the only one that sees.

BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 09:22

“However, I don’t think they should be free“

Oh, ffs. So a service only available to rich women. Right.

BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 09:23

“It’s only a matter of time then you and others will wonder how you were misled.“

What is going to happen?

Millymollymandybestie · 22/09/2019 09:25

iloveelephants it is nothing like the millions of people killed in wars. What a silly comparison

Sagradafamiliar · 22/09/2019 09:27

😂

Sorry, I just can't help but laugh. The thread has peaked. We're the unenlightened ones now. An all-knowing wise cracker person has come along to let us all know that there will be a big epiphany and we shall soon see that abortion is akin to war crime. I mean...disgusting. But so laughable.

formerbabe · 22/09/2019 09:28

People here will get upset at the idea that we are killing generations of people

I'm not upset at that...not that I think it's true really. There's seven billion people on the planet...if there's one thing we don't need to worry about, it's that there isn't enough people!

JacquesHammer · 22/09/2019 09:29

until you see that it really isn’t ok. It’s only a matter of time then you and others will wonder how you were misled

Steady with the tinfoil hat there. What will happen when we are realise Grin

I get it for you abortions are normal

How do you mean “normal”?

InsertFunnyUsername · 22/09/2019 09:32

Yes, I too believe in years to come we will look back and think " We gave women the right to do with their body as they please" what a bunch of savages.

BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 09:34

“Yes, I too believe in years to come we will look back and think " We gave women the right to do with their body as they please" what a bunch of savages.“
What I worry about is we will look back and think “we gave women the right to do with their bodies as they please-how did we let that right be taken away?”

formerbabe · 22/09/2019 09:36

Oh and wait till the penny finally drops that millions of people (babies) have been killed by the introduction of abortion

There's no penny to drop. I'm perfectly able to look up the number of abortions carried out in countries which collect that data.

And yes, I'm aware that if those women hadn't have had abortions, there would be more people on the planet.

I'm completely unbothered by this.

Sagradafamiliar · 22/09/2019 09:38

I'm still laughing at 'the penny finally dropping'. Well that went down like a sack of shit for you didn't it, elephant? You poor sod.

InsertFunnyUsername · 22/09/2019 09:39

Bertrand Yes quite a real concern going by OP and the like.

Thankfully for every "But it's got little hands and feet" There is a "Whats it got to do with you"

DoctorAllcome · 22/09/2019 09:48

Hmmm. Some people do believe that all life is sacred. I remember a researcher who was looking at the safety of GMO pig feed was stalked and harassed because her research involved euthanising pregnant pigs and examining both pig and fetal pig for any side effects of a GMO feed. The protesters/activists were upset that the pigs had to die (Charlottes web on steroids rants) but interestingly, they were almost hysterically upset by the thought of the fetal pig (cute baby piglet) dying than the pig itself. They called it barbaric and disgusting...etc etc.

So, it’s people like that who also view abortion in a similar light. As just another barbaric practice that will one day be stopped. I can respect that belief so long as it’s not applied to me because it’s no different from a religious belief imho.
