Depends on traffic but normally about 10 mins. Enough time to go to the toilet, make a drink and get ready to start the day.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 04/09/2019 21:41

I don't have a start time. I have a "should probably be in by then" time and am usually between 10 and 45mins early but we work flexi so I clock in when I arrive and clock out when I leave.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 04/09/2019 21:41

I aim to be there between 30 and 45 mins before and I work during that time.

WillowSummerSloth · 04/09/2019 21:43

I'm a GP and 1st patient at 9 (paid from 9am) but I arrive around 7- 7.30am to try to get on top of things.

bengalcat · 04/09/2019 21:47

30 - 60 mins before im due to start and am paid - have a coffee and catch up on emails etc

hiddeneverythin · 04/09/2019 21:47

I've recently increased it from between zero and two minutes to between five and ten minutes. Some people come in stupidly early and I dont get why you'd reduce your rate of pay like that

Lyricallie · 04/09/2019 21:48

Usually about 5/10 mins, sort my lunch in the fridge, get my pc on etc.

RedskyLastNight · 04/09/2019 21:48

I don't have a fixed start so just start working when I get in.

RunningNinja79 · 04/09/2019 21:48

Work in an office at a low level salary wise. Contracted hours are 7-3. I usually get in about ten to. When I get there my 2 colleagues are sat with computers on working away. My line of thought is that I dont get paid enough to be THAT keen.

which1 · 04/09/2019 21:49

1 minute or 2 minutes early or 1 or 2 mins late.

pimbee · 04/09/2019 21:49

I work flexi so turn up whenever I want, we don't even have core hours, it depends on whether I'm doing school drop off. I used to hate working at a set time, it was stressful, I'd always make sure I got there early and would always end up leaving late but couldn't claim the time back.

DramaAlpaca · 04/09/2019 21:50

As near to my actual start time as I can manage.

PrincessConsuelaTheSecond · 04/09/2019 21:51

Old job, I arrived 60 mins before.

Current job, I arrive at 8:58 because there’s fuck all to do

adaline · 04/09/2019 21:51

I have to be in the building for nine thirty but I can clock in (and get paid) any time from 9am so I tend to get in a bit earlier - make a coffee and bring tills down, then I have half an hour of relative peace to deal with admin and emails before we open at 10.

Nicknacky · 04/09/2019 21:51

15-20 mins to get organised and read the previous days logs before my briefing. And to get a coffee.

CTRL · 04/09/2019 21:52

10 mins early and prepare myself slowly until my first client.

unicorncupcake · 04/09/2019 21:53

Am a teacher and aim to be in at least an hour before my first lesson. I had a horrible commute in my old job but was always in at 7.45. There was a massive accident and road closure on the M4 once and I was an hour ‘late’ but still in time for my first lesson Grin

RitaMills · 04/09/2019 21:54

Around 45 mins, I’ll make a coffee and have some breakfast as I catch up with my emails.

fluffyslippers02 · 04/09/2019 21:54

I get there for my start time, and leave at my finish time, I hate my job, my work do me no favours, so I do no favours in return. I purely go to work to get paid at the end of the month.

CraftyGin · 04/09/2019 21:55

An hour early would seem late to me.

Fantababy · 04/09/2019 21:55

I'm a teacher and aim for about 45 mins before to get some work done and have a coffee before I start. Id rather be earlier but that's as early as I can get there after nursery drop off. Most of my colleagues are around then or later.

isabellerossignol · 04/09/2019 21:56

I don't have a set start time. I just come in, boot up the computer and whilst it is whirring away I get coffee then I come back and start whatever I'm doing.

BizzzzyBee · 04/09/2019 21:56

I never got paid enough to turn up early. My hourly rate was low enough already without lowering it even further by doing extra time unpaid. I turned up at the last possible minute and left ASAP. Glad to be a SAHM now because I feel more valued.

QuestionableMouse · 04/09/2019 21:57

Usually ten minutes before my shift.
