(NC as I’ve text about this to a few people who haven’t replied yet)

I woke up about twenty min ago, funny feeling and went to check locks downstairs for reassurance (all secure).

There is a note on the kitchen sideboard, lined notebook paper and light blue ball point in blocky neat handwriting. It says:

‘This is your house Kathleen. You live here. David has the front bedroom and your bedroom is at the back. This is your house Kathleen and you can look at the garden.’

Really tidy kitchen, in the middle of an empty side. I went to bed last. Obv I’m not called Kathleen or anything similar and I don’t recognise the handwriting or even the pen ink.

Maybe this will be easier to grasp or solve in the morning? But right now I’m a bit 😳 and unable to sleep...

A bit of paper wouldn’t from a library book

I’d missed out some words in my previous thread, the post above was to add them.
Added to the rest of my post the comment makes sense.

JoMumsnet · 29/08/2019 10:15

Just hopping on to confirm that the OP's been on the site for a fair while and hasn't given us any cause for concern in the past, so we'd appreciate it if everyone could knock the troll hunting on the head, as per our Talk Guidelines.

We ALL want to know who wrote the note and how it got there - if the OP doesn't come back to the thread, we'll never get to the bottom of this...

LuciferTheCat · 29/08/2019 10:16

weird

Doyoumind · 29/08/2019 10:17

It's definitely adult writing. Some of the letter formations are consistent and in a style a child wouldn't use even if they were faking it.

LipSyncForYourLife · 29/08/2019 10:17

Could it be like the film Sixth Sense? Maybe you are Kathleen, you’re dead, and you don’t know it?

Sorry to have to tell you... 😐

CharlesChickens · 29/08/2019 10:19

How eery OP.
I do agree it is a note to someone with dementia, either from a carer, or that they have written themselves.
How it came to be in your house so neatly though....
How long have you lived there ? Could your DH have found it somewhere and left it to show you ? Or one of your children ?

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 29/08/2019 10:20

To everyone saying that's a childs writing or faked, my dad wrote exactly like that. He left school at 13 and I don't think his hand writing improved since then.

AdalindMeisner · 29/08/2019 10:23

I normally dislike this but placemarking to read later. (yes I know about the three little dots and watching but if it is deleted I'll never know if !)

taytosandwich · 29/08/2019 10:24

People are so annoying!! I want to know how the note got there and now OP has gone. If you're on a woo thread is it too much to ask that you suspend your disbelief and just enjoy the silliness.

ReTooth · 29/08/2019 10:26

.

darkriver19886 · 29/08/2019 10:27

You dont have blank spells OP?

sparklesandmoresparkles · 29/08/2019 10:28

Wow that’s really creepy! I woke up at 5am this morning as I thought I’d heard something, but I think —hope— it was just my imagination. That creeped me out enough, I think finding a note like that would have me off screaming down the street!

Branster · 29/08/2019 10:29

OMG Clovko please do come back with any further updates!!!
I’ve been following this and am dying to know what exactly happened.
Ignore all the annoying messages, I can’t believe why some people can’t get it into their head that for some technical reasons pictures don’t show on all devices and they blame the poster, it’s happening on so many threads. I believe your story and although there must be a logical explanation, I want to find out who put the paper there and who wrote it.
Glad you found out about the electrical fault in good time and am very impressed you go to bed with a very tidy kitchen when you’ve got all the little ones to look after Smile

ChristineBaskets · 29/08/2019 10:29

I hope Kathleen haunts all the people placemarking with full stops.

timshelthechoice · 29/08/2019 10:30

Fucking sick of all the insults if anything is anything other than normal and trollhunting if the OP doesn't post a fucking pic or diagram. No, OP, you are not the only person who doesn't have a fucking phone with camera - I don't. I use a laptop.

It's eerie AF, this not.

cricketmum84 · 29/08/2019 10:32

STOP PLACEMARKING WITH A . AND LEARN HOW TO WATCH A THREAD.

That is all.

cricketmum84 · 29/08/2019 10:33

@ChristineBaskets I hope she leaves them all creepy notes

rainbowruthie · 29/08/2019 10:36

Blindingly obvious to me that Leahbelle/Kathleen has peed in your kettle hence the fishiness Grin

PancakeAndKeith · 29/08/2019 10:37

If I found something like that the first thing I would do would be to wake up DH.

longtompot · 29/08/2019 10:37

It looks like an older persons handwriting.
Is the paper old or new looking?
Do you actually get books from the library, or buy second hand from a charity shop for it have been able to fall put of a book?
Is there anything written on the other side, like a shopping list?
Are you the first people to live in your house (as you said its small and modern, so I am thinking new build)? If not, then it could be previous owners/tenants.
Do you have a cat? They could have brought you a present?
Other than that, someone might have been sleepwalking, and written it.

NoSauce · 29/08/2019 10:39

It’s not eerie. There will be a logical explanation. My bet is on the H playing a trick. The OP hasn’t said there was a break in and the dc are too young to write it.

It wouldn’t have fallen out of a book onto the middle of a sideboard imo either.

ThePhoenixRises · 29/08/2019 10:41

Kathleen was the old home owner, wrote that note to herself during a lucid period, somehow it's been un earthed in the house now.

Or Kathleen used to live there, still has a key, let herself in and placed the note, then left.

I would be asking older neighbours about previous owners and I would be googling, the address along with the names to see if any links can be made.

rainbowstardrops · 29/08/2019 10:43

Well I think it's very odd but I believe you OP. I don't care if I'm naive 🤷🏻‍♀️

SayOohLaLa · 29/08/2019 10:44

What's the underside of the note like OP? I'm wondering if the "shaky" style is caused by writing on an uneven surface, brick, concrete slabs etc.

pencilpot99 · 29/08/2019 10:51

That note makes me feel very sad. My Grandma and Dad both suffered from dementia and it is very much the sort of thing that might be written to help someone with that. No idea how it wound up in OP's house but I'm sure there's a straightforward explanation. Like with the lady from yesterday who posted about a parcel mysteriously being placed on her bed that ended up being the daughter's boyfriend.
