Praise be! It's suddenly started raining!!!! I'm going out to stand in it for a bit.

Oooh Catherine where abouts are you?

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 25/07/2019 14:50

I'm not normally a summer hater but can I join you? I feel woozy and drugged up and unable to to move my oversized arse off the settee (and when I do it leaves an imprint of bum cheeks and vag which is gross) . I know how lucky I am not being stuck in a roasting office, but I am bored as fuck at the same time and so is dd . Roll on tomorrow. :(

Soubriquet · 25/07/2019 15:14

WE HAVE RAIN!!! THIS IS NOT A HOAX!! WE HAVE RAIN!

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 25/07/2019 15:15

@Princessfaffalot Southeast London. But I got happy too quickly cause it lasted all of 5 mins. I had rushed out to gleefully to stand barefoot in it and take the clothes in, but I might as well have left them out.

But it does now look cloudy and overcast and it's gone very still. So maybe...saints willing a proper thunderstorm will come!

Other than that it's humid again!!Angry

Soubriquet · 25/07/2019 15:16

Not a heavy rain mind you...hope it picks up or it will be more humid

Catherine I'm south London too and i thought it looked very like rain is due, the air is so heavy.

Becca19962014 · 25/07/2019 15:17

I WANT RAIN!!!!

It's suffocating here and tomorrow's forecast keeps going up Sad
So much for the predicted 27c here. supposedly 'just' 22 tomorrow. Was meant to be 18 max like yesterday.

Princessfaffalot · 25/07/2019 15:20

I’m in west London, we’re forecast rain at 7! Fingers crossed! I’m sat under a fan dabbing at my pink sweaty flabby bits with a damp tea towel...so very lady like!

Becca19962014 · 25/07/2019 15:22

princess I've a damp towel too, helping right now.

Bloody fairies currently LYING that it's raining. Heavily.

Zero clouds and blazing sun.

ThighsRelief · 25/07/2019 15:26

I've given up, lying on my bed. I'm not making any dinner, they can eat cereal, don't care.

drogon1 · 25/07/2019 15:27

The worst thing for me about this heatwave is it draws everyone out into their gardens at night and one particular household of recently moved in 20 year olds have put a gazebo up which they stay under laughing, squaking and chatting until turned 11pm. It means I can't have my baby's bedroom window open as they wake her up every 5 minutes. The poor thing is roasting. I know I'm being completely unreasonable as it's not their problem I have a baby but arghh, i wish it would piss it down on them!!

Soubriquet · 25/07/2019 15:32

Noooooooo

The rain has stopped, the sun is back and now it’s muggier than ever

RosaWaiting · 25/07/2019 15:35

I felt more ill yesterday but that might be because my boss made me eat crisps. Yesterday I tried eating a bit of salt but it didn't help!

drogon1 · 25/07/2019 15:38

It's 35 here now (South Yorkshire). I keep looking at the rain clouds on Fri Sat Sun and Mon on my weather app with heart shaped eyes

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 25/07/2019 15:48

It's fucking boiling, I have air con in my conservatory and last year we had a proper roof fitted, but I can't leave it, the rest of the house is like being in Egypt.

Minai · 25/07/2019 16:04

@CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook I’m South East London too and no rain here yet. Hoping for rain tonight but I’m not holding my breath

peridito · 25/07/2019 16:07

Just popping in with sympathy for all with health problems ,in hospital and those with babies and young children.I feel so grateful to be retired and also not to have to entertain little ones .

I'm in SE London ,upper two floors and attic bedroom of Victorian house .
I think I can cope with the heat ,though I don't like it and I feel as though I'm wading through molten lead .
It's the sweat/stickyness/feeling dirty all the time I hate .

That and the blinding light of the sun ,but I'm avoiding that by wearing very dark glasses over my varifocals .So I and my flat ( with it's bits of material draped on the outside of my windows ) both look a treat .

OldAndWornOut · 25/07/2019 16:08

Its so, soo hot!
I don't know what to do with myself.
The fan is now just blowing hot air around.

There ought to be a law against this kind of heat!

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 25/07/2019 16:13

@TakemedowntoPotatoCity Welcome. Your bum imprint on the sofa made me snortGrin

@Perdito are you in central? I don't think I could cope.

We just went for a little walk (5 mins each way) to the shop and weirdly I have goosebumps and feel a bit shivery! Dh is making me have a lie down and keeps bringing me water.

ThighsRelief · 25/07/2019 16:36

Air con in bedroom is 5000 BTU, i should have bought 12000 BTU. Trapped in this one room, might as well sort socks.

ThighsRelief · 25/07/2019 16:37

I'm too fat for this nonsense, must be thin before next summer.

OldAndWornOut · 25/07/2019 16:40

Me too.
It keeps crossing my mind that lugging all this fat around isn't helping anything.
I haven't even lost my appetite in the heat though.
