Threw a bucket of water over the patio as need to put another line of clothes out.

After that I'm getting the frozon hot water bottle out the fridge and going to lie down.

Im in London too. It's been horrible.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 25/08/2019 10:03

Are you joking Dongdingdong? Please say you are.

I've not stepped outside.

And to think I was proclaiming the start of Autumn! What an idiot. Bushy green trees in my garden are laughing at me.

It was still 24c at just past midnight here last night, it's currently around 20c. So much for the "predicted high". I obsessively sat up watching a huge band of rain in radar last night/early morning and it literally missed me by a couple of miles. Massive sodding band of rain and it manages to miss where I am! Feeling unwell with cold and heat and generally pissed off at another sodding heatwave.

Flat like an oven again.

Fuck off now weather.
It's nearly SEPTEMBER ffs Angry

Becca19962014 · 25/08/2019 10:27

I'm going to have to miss meds today - the air con in the pharmacy is broken, again and it's 25c in there and climbing. They've had to close for the day.

Seriously it's time for Autumn weather, it really really really is. We've been having stupid temperatures here now since May. You've had your fun.

lololove · 25/08/2019 17:33

Hope It doesn't affect you too badly love!

Was going to see my grandad at the care home. Ut genuinely can't face it. It's 27 degrees outside, stupidly hot inside and the home keep the heating on full blast all year round (I understand why, my grandad can't stand to feel a breeze even in summer a d won't have his window open with him in the room but still... The poor staff!!!!). Give I already can't control my body temperature and I'm melting with 2 fans in in the room I can't deal with a glass greenhouse like care home with the heating on!

Becca19962014 · 25/08/2019 17:45

It was 27c at its highest here. Still far too hot. Almost 10c higher than predicted. Worried about tomorrow. With fans going it's still hotter in here than it was yesterday.

Becca19962014 · 25/08/2019 17:46

Our hospital is the same. I've an emergency appointment on Tuesday morning. It'll need to be much much more bearable than today for me to even consider going. But if I cancel again "just" because of the weather I risk being discharged.

RosaWaiting · 25/08/2019 18:18

It’s awful today, much worse than the last heatwave day. Temps measured too low again I reckon.

Woodlandwitch · 25/08/2019 18:23

Anytime I mention to friends that I’ve had enough of summer they say it’s only just started and how it’s been rubbish up until now.

They must have total memory loss as here in the south east it really has mostly been a proper summer since May it feels to me.

I packed all my summer clothes away rather optimistically a few weeks ago hoping all the hot hot days weee over.

I’m back in my vastly shorts which I should never be seen in, with awful hair and skin.

I just don’t seem to function right in this temperature.

I’ve mostly managed by getting up early and going for walks in the Forest where it is cool, coming back to nap during the hottest part to then be somewhat sociable for evening in time for when it’s slightly cooler.

My son was spraying me with his water pistol today and it’s the first time I’ve not told him to stop.

I am an autumn woman at heart. Can’t wait for it to cool down and stay down for a few seasons

RosaWaiting · 25/08/2019 18:29

Woodland I can’t function either. My blood pressure has gone too low and I feel odd. I had so much I wanted to do this BH!

Badassmama · 25/08/2019 18:50

Signing up now waves

I have a 5wk old baby who gets overheated every time I try to feed him and a CS wound that’s gotten infected and won’t heal as it’s so damn sweaty all the time.

Please initiate autumn protocol!

RosaWaiting · 25/08/2019 18:56

Badass “Please initiate autumn protocol”

Excellent phrasing. I normally hate summer time noise but I’d like an air conditioned bus with a loudspeaker on top so we can drive round saying this on repeat Grin

Haggisfish · 25/08/2019 18:58

I am so FUCKED OFF with the heat!!! Just cannot be arsed to do anything do house is even more of a shit heap than normal. Sigh!

Mummyoflittledragon · 25/08/2019 18:59

Just found this thread. Can’t wait for the temperature to drop at least 10 degrees! Dh would move to warm climes. I’d look like this all the time. 😡😡 not permanently angry but red in face.

RosaWaiting · 25/08/2019 19:01

My face is sorevfrom yesterday
I’m so thick, I needed my big sis to explain to me that it was sunblock that made it sore

We couldn’t avoid being out yesterday but hiding indoors till sunset now.

Might go to the cinema tomorrow afternoon but it’s a bus ride to get to see a film I actually want to see.

Poochandmutt · 25/08/2019 19:03

Oh hello ,I saw this on another page ..I’m so irritable, and I’m dripping wet .and the kids want constant hugs ,they have autism and stroke my hair a lot😡😡😡😡.normally I can just about tolerate being touched ,but NOT in this hot weather ...

Poochandmutt · 25/08/2019 19:05

On the plus side
This time last year my ankles resembled footballs ,but since I’ve started going to the gym every day ,this has been the year in a long time I’ve not had swollen feet

Daphnesmate · 25/08/2019 19:08

I am another one who thought that we had seen the back of Summer. We have to get some DIY completed this weekend and selfishly really wanted it to rain/be cool. I cant wait for Autumn - we have been lying low today and yesterday - popped out in the car today and got roasted (no air con). The only place I want to be when the weather is like this is sitting on a beach (in the shade of our beach hut) with a nice sea breeze, otherwise, I just seem to lose days. Glad I am not alone in my dislike of the hot weather.

Starksforthewin · 25/08/2019 19:14

Aghhhh! 😡😡😡😡😡😡

Actual representation of my face. I look like an angry tomato!

30 degrees here. 31 'forecast' ( ha ha ha) for tomorrow and Tuesday.
I cannot bear it any longer. To make matters worse, the AirCon in my car has given up in protest. I simply cannot use it when temps are like this (44 inside the car!) so now I am marooned inside the house until it cools down.

Actively looking at a house move North ( am in South East)
I can't cope with summers like this any more.

Hellishot · 25/08/2019 20:13

Well this is shit isn't it.

I was looking forward to the bank holiday... Headache since yesterday, absolutely worn out, and I've spent the past two days sat in front of the fan doing nothing.

And can the weather forecasters and the media sod right off with their beautiful weather crap!

Badassmama · 25/08/2019 20:24

Rosa

We should totally do the bus- and can it also have sprinklers installed where the headlights normally go?!

justasking111 · 25/08/2019 20:25

You poor people in the south east, just looking at your weather gives me nightmares hot here in North Wales but we do have sea breezes which unfortunately disappear in the evening so hot nights.

Roll on September with shorter days and cooler nights.

RosaWaiting · 25/08/2019 20:29

Badass good plan!

just why do the breezes vanish in the evening?

I love North Wales.

PP talking about moving north, if England continues to be this hot, then yes. My sister is one of the Londoners who you’d think would never leave but she said this too.

justasking111 · 25/08/2019 20:51

The wind disappears because it is caused by the land heating up and the sea being cooler, it disappears in the evening as the sun goes down.

In Northern Spain they call it the tramuntana. We used to have to get up very early in the mornings there to water ski because the sea became choppy later in the day.

In Spain the wind is called the tramuntana [tɾəmunˈtanə] or [tɾamunˈtana] in Catalan and tramontana [tɾamonˈtana] in Spanish, Galician and Basque. The wind also lends its name to the Serra de Tramuntana in Majorca.
