Threw a bucket of water over the patio as need to put another line of clothes out.

After that I'm getting the frozon hot water bottle out the fridge and going to lie down.

its pretty much guaranteed the weather will cool if I fit it, right?

Sounds a fab idea to me.

We've sun again today Envy

Becca19962014 · 02/08/2019 10:08

25 fucking degrees!!
Was showing as 20 yesterday.

I thought this shit was supposed to be over and done.

Becca19962014 · 02/08/2019 10:10

And that's according to those fairy bastards so it'll be worse.
Am dreading going out...

Becca19962014 · 02/08/2019 10:11

"Only" 20c last year..

Becca19962014 · 02/08/2019 12:47

Fucking horrible here again. Fairies claiming its 23c now.

Not a fucking chance.

I resisted the temptation to hit the person who informed me if I wasn't so fat I'd be better able to cope with the weather. Seriously? What is wrong with some fucking people. I know I look like a sweaty yukky fucking beetroot and am struggling to breathe and walk.

My life is fucking tough enough. Not to mention terrifying right now.

It was so hard to go out mental health so bad that I didn't sleep through terror last night of weather. I'm so sick of being ill.

Flat currently 23c and feeling much cooler than outside. So no fucking way are the fairies right!

Becca19962014 · 02/08/2019 12:48

HATE HATE HATE IT

OldAndWornOut · 02/08/2019 20:36

Its stiflingly hot here.
I don't know what the temperature is, but I'm sweating, and have been for days (and nights)
The only difference is that its not very sunny.

Becca19962014 · 02/08/2019 20:51

Our sun only went in about 8pm.
Been horribly hot here, spent day being ill, again.

Still over 24c in flat. When I went to get post it let in a wall of heat. Bloody awful. Almost like it was last week.

Promised rain and thunderstorms never materialised.

Sodding weather.

Definitely was not a high of 25c today! Even if it was that's still far too much for me.

Benjispruce · 02/08/2019 21:01

Where are you Becca?

Becca19962014 · 02/08/2019 21:36

In hell. Second door on the left, next to the furnace.

Or, if you want to be pedantic about it, rural Wales.

Yes, Wales. Where it's supposedly pissing with rain and freezing cold all the time....

According to various fairies today's temperature has been between 20c(!) and 25c. Neither of which are accurate.

Trying to find cooling scarves. I can't take much more of this.

missmouse101 · 02/08/2019 21:46

Hi Becca, I'm also in rural Wales and finding it unbearable. Car aircon on full blast was heaven today, but sheer hell when I had to get out. I use my desk fan blowing straight into my face constantly when at home. I'm so happy we've got June and July out of the way, I'm counting down the weeks until cool and fresh. ❄⛄❄

Benjispruce · 02/08/2019 22:00

Wow, I thought everywhere in UK was cool now. Hope it improves for you. Personally I'm ok so long as we don't go over 25 ish.

missmouse101 · 02/08/2019 22:07

I don't call it cool until it goes under 10 or so. Anything over 20 is too hot for me. 25 is unbearable.

Becca19962014 · 02/08/2019 22:12

miss I was thinking I was alone! I'm so sorry it's bad where you are as well.

Fairies currently accepting it hit 26c today ... It did more than that.... Little buggers.

My flat has just got down below 23c. Literally.

Tomorrow is meant to be 22c. And was, this time yesterday, predicted as hotter than today, it better not be.

Everyone today here in shorts and t-shirts. Even the downpour on Tuesday didn't make it that much cooler.

I didn't get my thunderstorm or rain today.

I should have known the 19/20c for August was a fucking joke ..

Becca19962014 · 02/08/2019 22:15

Local weather station to me, within a couple of miles recording high of 26c (that's right over the sea so always at least two degrees lower than where I am) and currently 22c.

It's gone 10pm.
It should be illegal to be over 20c after 10pm.

^ im sure that'll make a huge difference!

NeedIceInMyBrain · 03/08/2019 13:10

Ridiculously hot again. Of course, to my heat loving family it’s now ‘quite chilly’ and ‘need a jacket’ weather Hmm
Everyone I speak to seems to think that anything under 30 degrees is just warm and anything under 23 is now cold!!!

LoafofSellotape · 03/08/2019 13:29

25 here today. Dreading tomorrow as meant to be the same and I have an event to go to.

I went shoppy this morning and got really hot ( more menopause related than weather ) and drive the long way home with hair con on full blast so I could cool down!

Becca19962014 · 03/08/2019 13:37

25c here today, so much for the 20 max fr today it was last night. Supposedly getting cooler over next few days but it keeps getting revised upwards.

Sun just starting to come out.

Fucking unbearable.

Under 25c IS NOT FUCKING FREEZING!!!!!!!!!!

Becca19962014 · 03/08/2019 14:37

Fucking air con unit has died.

RosaWaiting · 03/08/2019 16:41

Sorry Becca

It is disgustingly humid in London again today.

Howzaboutye · 03/08/2019 16:52

I have found my people!!!!!

I basically do not sweat. So every summer is a mission to not overheat and faint. Want my top tips?

House- yes close all windows and blinds. Open it all up when the sun has gone down.

At night make an empty duvet cover damp. Lie underneath it. Very cooling.

Keep your hair wet. Keep spraying it and yourself with a plant sprayer of plain tap water.

Old fashioned fan.

Hat, if out in the sun.

Have a tepid/ cool bath. Brings your temp down. Don't dry off after, again the water cooling will cool you a bit.

Drink cool sugary fizzy drinks if you start to feel dizzy. It will help you keep your marbles.

SlowAndWild · 03/08/2019 17:14

At least the end is in sight now we are in August. Darker evenings, and damp grass in the mornings.

RosaWaiting · 03/08/2019 18:12

I don’t sweat either but none of those options are helpful in these flats. Well I find the damp sheet thing gross in any situation tbh.

There’s another thread mentioning about autumnal feelings. Not remotely in London. And the long light is really getting on my nerves. When I was little I used to love it being dark early and kept asking my parents when it was coming!
