As an antidote to the irrational hatred thread Wink. I'll start.

Tins of Princes Tuna that are both drained, and have a funky pull lid (not metal) that made me kneel down and weep with joy.

Wrens. Tiny. But incredibly LOUD!!!

Fernicktylo · 14/07/2019 19:21

Walking while listening to a funny podcast.

graziemille567 · 14/07/2019 19:32

Toast smothered in salted butter.
Cold mornings when we both wake up before DS and have a snoozy, cosy cuddle under the duvet and throw.
Curling up on the sofa together as a family to watch a film with hot chocolate and popcorn.
Glass of wine, pitta bread, hummus, sunny day.
My DS giggling and chuckling.

OhDearDottie · 14/07/2019 19:58

A new bar of soap. Currently living the dream with Asda's own baby soap.

My Dd's little chubby legs and forearms. And waking up to see her smiling at me from her Next To Me cot.

My cats. Even the evil bugger who hates everything. And their tiny little jelly bean toes!

A fresh pot of tea, a blanket and an Agatha Christie adaption on the TV.

Rain on the windows when it's the middle of the night and you can just curl up under the quilt.

It used to be my garden but we are mid extension so that's gone to pot. But I have so many plans for when I can get my hands on it again!

I saw this on Twitter today. Cat paws are upside down teddy bears.

Our two cats (had them a couple of months now) when they prowl like tiny panthers or sleep in the most random places

The John West tuna ( I'm vegetarian but my cats like this so I gird myself and treat them to a tin to share ) much easier than wrestling tin openers and tuna liquid

My 19yo DS (not a tiny thing now) when he stops being a Serious Teen and just talks utter rubbish and laughs .

My DD (17) who is turning into a serious clever and beauitiful young woman with the world at her feet . DH and I are so proud of them.

The part of a flight where the plane taxis along, turns then picks up speed just before take off .

@Alicecooperslovechild I have a huge lump in my throat reading that.
Mine are :
Photos
New stationery
Stickers
Eggs..most delicious things
Bookmarks
Thin sanitary towels
Jigsaws

Peanutbuttericecream · 14/07/2019 20:46

Foals and any horse really.

growlingbear · 14/07/2019 20:55

Fresh cafetiere coffee
Random cute friendly dogs in the woods
Cats
Days when it's sunny enough to eat outdoors
clean bed linen that has been dried in the sunshine - the smell is so good.
Novels you get completely sucked into.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 14/07/2019 21:28

When the butter is the right consistency when you get a scone or toast at a cafe. Soft enough but not melted. Melted annoys me!

SkiingIsHeaven · 14/07/2019 21:59

My husband's bum. Lush.

user1461609321 · 14/07/2019 22:19

Watching

DickZillaofTheVilla · 14/07/2019 22:21

Opening a new bar of soap. I get so excited by this and can’t stop feeling and smelling the new bar

bugeyedbarber · 14/07/2019 22:55

DD saying something new (she's 2 and a bit and started talking) - it takes me by surprise and goes straight to my heart

When I hoover and use that narrow extension for sucking out dust from small spaces and I get everything out

Someone mentioned ladybirds upthread - me too Grinsuch gracious and pretty little things

When I see a new fruit or flower on my balcony/roof garden that I sowed/planted myself this year. So amazing.

When I polyfill and sand something and paint over it and then when it's done it's perfect (as it's not always the way). I'm immediately full of contentment

Fizzyboo · 14/07/2019 23:33

Early morning in a summer garden.

Umbrellas in rain without wind.

My daughters laugh (also when she giggles in her sleep)

Hot coffee.

Crunchy autumn leaves.

Clean sheets with freshly shaved legs.

Cleaning my ears with a bud (controversial!)

Wildflower meadows.

Having a spot squeezed.

Fizzyboo · 14/07/2019 23:34

Oh and hearing the woodpecker peck! I don't know why it delights me so much!

Ilovemylabrador · 15/07/2019 08:13

Too many but

Coming home and driving up the gravel driveway and seeing all my Labrador in the window of the lounge - best day ever when mummy comes home

The fact I can’t cant put my bag down - the first 10 minutes home are all of them wanting cuddling

My children playing outside

My children cuddling me or each other

My youngest is a comedian and can make anyone laugh, by doing a dance

Love my tea

Inhaling in the garden covered in jasmine and honeysuckle

Watching the bees

A good book

My dogs and cuddling fast asleep with little people when you are snuggled together

I love walking in the woods or by the river

IhaveALooBrush · 15/07/2019 10:29

The first squeeze of a new tube of toothpaste

Zaphodsotherhead · 15/07/2019 10:50

My dog. She's a terrier and absolutely horrible outside, but when she snuggles up to me in bed and gazes up into my face with such love I'm slightly proud of the fact that this certified killer loves me so much and is so good when it's just us.

The feel of my trousers when I've just shaved my legs.
A warm cake, just out of the oven.
Being able to get into clothes that last fitted me ten years ago.
A smile from someone I don't know.
A hunk of cheese and some crackers and an episode of Midsomer Murders that I haven't seen before, during a night off work.

ILoveAnOwl · 15/07/2019 11:30

When things are as good as you remember. So rereading a favourite book and it's still great, the view you've been storing in your mind still being breathtaking, chatting to an old friend and remembering just how much you love them.

echt · 15/07/2019 11:56

Wrens. Tiny. But incredibly LOUD!!!

Cailleach, I so agree. The collective term for wrens is a herd, which sounds about right, though I see what you mean by the disproportionate racket.I think the term should be the same as rhinos: a crash.

I'm in Australia where birds that look wren-y are called wrens on superficial appearance even when they don't sound like the UK versions., though they often have the same upright tail.

Shockers · 15/07/2019 12:14

My lurcher ‘talking’ to me - he’s hilarious!

spiderlight · 15/07/2019 12:55

My cocker talks too, @Shockers - he has a huge range of aroos in a ridiculously deep voice, and we get a whole performance every morning when DS picks up his bag to set off for school. He also says something that sounds incredibly like 'out', and he called me a knob the other day, plain as anything! Shock

Vesperia · 15/07/2019 13:01

@BenWillbondsPants - have some baby ladybirds in my garden, had to look up what they were as they are really weird scary looking things

HarrietsweetHarriet · 15/07/2019 13:35

Lovely thread.
Also too many to mention but let's say:

Purring/snoring cats
Brie so ripe it's almost runny
Cake - pretty much any type of cake but especially if it's carrot cake with loads of that scrummy creamy cheese type topping
Tea in a lovely handmade pottery mug
The sound of waves crashing
Clean bedding
Orange blossom
Birdsong
The smell of freshly cut grass
The sound of a lawn sprinkler
The "thwack" sound of tennis balls or cricket balls on willow
The trickling sound of a small waterfall
Reed beds rustling in the wind
Hearing the laughter of my DH and DD
Butterflies and dragonflies and fat furry bumblebees
The feel of pure silk
Hugs
Tiramisu
The echoes of pigeons cooing down the chimney
A crackling, open fire on winter days
A lovely, ice cold, G&T
Having friends over and just shooting the breeze
Eating home grown tomatoes straight off the vine, warm and fragrant
